  1. There are women who helped in the progression of women and there are women who helped in the progression of the United States, but there are very few women who did both. Susan B Anthony seems to be the obvious choice, but Eleanor Roosevelt would keep with the theme of it being someone within the presidency. I would also like to see a national holiday centered around a woman. For that, I think Harriet Tubman would be the perfect fit.
  2. Someone try it and then let us know what you think. I've been looking at that little window-looking thingy at the bottom of the screen, but have resisted clicking on it.
  3. I don't know why it is only one count as a misdemeanor instead of 9, but it wasn't felony animal cruelty because there was no malicious intent. In other words, he wasn't intentionally trying to harm or kill them, just very poor judgement on his part. As an example, a person leaves a child in a car to just run into the store for a moment, but it takes longer than expected and the child gets overheated. No malicious intent, just stupid. Versus the guy who allegedly intentionally left the little boy in the car to die. The act was Intentional so it makes the act malicious.
  4. Here is Jeff's response to Fox 5. He posted something similar on his farm's Facebook page (which the page has sense been taken down). Attorney Jeff Bowers issued a statement Friday evening to FOX 5 after he turned himself in Thursday morning on a count of cruelty to animals. In the statement, Bowers said, “Last Saturday evening I brought our dogs from our family farm to our property in Dallas to stay temporarily overnight in a secure trailer. Contrary to some media reports, the trailer had water and ventilation. I returned the next day to move our dogs from the trailer. Despite our bes
  5. I think most Apps have access to SMS. What are your concerns with the App and your phone? There may be a way to work around whatever it is.
  6. The media is playing up the sentencing part of things, but not mentioning the whole story. The couple were "getting it on" for 25 minutes in front of many families with children present. He got a 15 year sentence because he has a former felony conviction for drug dealing and a longer sentence is mandatory. http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/story/26073588/pair-charged-for-sex-on-bradenton-beach
  7. It is my understanding (although I have not verified this) that when you click through to have the site tell you your age - you give permission for your photo to be used in advertising.
  8. What if there's a TKO in the first two minutes? Do you get a refund?
  9. I just finished working on a blog post about negligent entrustment yesterday. There are facts that support this about teenagers. Who is most at risk? The risk of motor vehicle crashes is higher among 16- to 19-year-olds than among any other age group. In fact, per mile driven, teen drivers ages 16 to 19 are nearly three times more likely than drivers aged 20 and older to be in a fatal crash. http://www.cdc.gov/motorvehiclesafety/teen_drivers/teendrivers_factsheet.html
  10. How in the world did the poor woman get the car to come in at that angle? Feel bad for her (the people she hit too). My FIL was prone to doing that kind of thing when he was still driving. Never hit a person, but did take out a row of vans once.
  11. True (to some degree - it's all about your arm movement, but you could put it around your ankle). Still, it motivates you to get moving. Now...if the pollen would just go away so I can actually go outside and walk!
  12. Come...come to the darkside.... We have cookies! http://www.bustle.com/articles/63730-19-very-real-and-emotional-struggles-of-having-a-fitbit-or-does-your-fitbit-have-you
  13. FitBit Charge and I love it. There is a lot of community support on Facebook (Facebook groups) for users too. For ALL fitness levels, which is great.
  14. Ooh, thanks for the info. I'll check it out.
  15. Thank you. The camera needed a new battery (was old type that was rechargeable), so it wouldn't mean much to anyone but me. I'm hoping to find out what kind of camera it was. I use to know, but it was several years ago when he bought it.
  16. Back around Labor Day my uncle moved my mother out of the state of Georgia without telling me and then disposed of all my parent's things. A lot of the things he got rid of belonged to my Dad and meant a lot to me. I was not given an opportunity to get any of them - they are all gone. One of the main items of concern is my Dad's camera. It is an older camera, but did have a memory card with undeveloped photos going back about four or five years. So many memories of happy times...ALL GONE. I suspect that the camera was donated to GoodWill or St Vincent De Paul's in Paulding County. I know i
  17. Did she work for Paulding by any chance? Her name is familiar and the person I am thinking of was a longtime rider who lived out toward Buchanan (or beyond).
  18. The one at AllGood needs to be emptied. It is full and running over.
  19. The guy that hooked up the UVerse told us that we could go paperless, but I declined. The thing he (nor anyone else) told us, however, was that when they separated the wireless service from the Internet service --- the date would change. After countless years of everything being due between the 17-18 - all of a sudden the Uverse is due on the 11th (which I keep forgetting about) and the wireless is now due on the 24th.
  20. After a ton of research, I went with Pet Plan. I took the middle plan after talking with a dog rescuer who uses it. www.petplan.com --- if you decide to go with them - let me know and I can refer you. We will both get $25.
  21. My birthday is Sunday and as per tradition - we normally have Chinese. Unfortunately, my favorite place is closed on Sunday so we will have to go somewhere else. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good Chinese restaurant in West Cobb or Douglasville OR if there is a Chinese restaurant over near Seven Hills that maybe I don't know about. I don't want to do a buffet, but do want a place where you sit down and servers wait on you.
  22. I was talking with someone about this earlier. How do you end up face down in a tub? If you pass out in a tub, it seems like your head might go sideways and under water, but how would you end up face down? I think they said the same about Whitney and I never could quite get that in my mind either. A baby I can see, even a small child - but once you're an adult - seems like it would be hard to end up with your face in the water.
  23. Is it just me or does the face look like a guy? Hands too.
  24. What group were you with? My Dad had an occupational therapist coming out from a group at WellStar in Cobb. I called Cobb Hospital and then got connected with the group.
