I would have thought it would be Bullock Springs Manor. They were all nice, but that tree was GORGEOUS!!! I also really liked First Baptist and Dallas Dance. Kudos to all who participated. It was obvious that a lot of hard work went into all of those trees. Some of them were VERY creative. I got some great ideas for my tree for next year.

I never did hear / read who ended up winning the tree contest. Soooooooo....... Who won?

Since we're talking about foul smells, has anyone been to the McChevron on 61 / Scoggins lately? GAG!!!! I swear someone is dumping raw sewage in the parking lot or something. It is almost unbearable. I dont know how the people who work there can stomach it.

I'm going at 6 pm tonight. I thought about just blowing it off because of the weather, but it may put me in more of a Christmas spirit so I'm gonna brave the elements and head on down. (even though I'm having a TERRIBLE hair day! )

Every year when we ask Lil RaceGirl what she wants for Christmas, she says snow and world peace. I couldn't care less about the snow, but I hope it does snow at least a little for her sake.

Well, it does bug me. I prefer to see it all written out. To me xmas is like giving someone a birthday card that says: Happy XDay - It's not that much to write it out. It's not really saving that much time. JMO

Yes, as I stated in an earlier post, one of the local news outlets did a story about them stealing the flowers, the "sprays", the "blankets" and especially the ones on stands so they could reuse them all for other clients. I'm not saying that this is what happened in this case, but it has been known to happen before. Either way, whoever did take them is a scuzz bucket.

I hate tell you this, but alot of times local florists will actually go out and take the fresh flowers to resell. Crappy thing to do, but they even had a story on the news about not too long ago.

Hey Paul! I think we're going to try to stop by this Saturday before one of our Christmas gatherings. I can't wait to get a copy of the book. Your mother would be soooooooooo proud of you. I know she is smiling down.

I make homemade spiced pecans every year so of course I eat way too many of them. I also look forward to my yearly alotment of Sports Source's homemade sausage balls every year. And I'll admit that I love those chewy peppermints with the little tree in the center. Oh yeah and Dunkin Donuts peppermint mocha lattes - mmmmmmmmm

We have watched LOST since the very beginning. I thought I would miss it when it was over, but they have such extended breaks between "seasons" that I kind of forget about it until it comes back on. I HATE that they are cancelling Eastwick. I love that show, and I really wish they would give it just a little more of a chance. Sucks that they canned Harper's Island, although I don't really know where else they could have gone with it. And My Name is Earl..... Oh that just REALLY ticks me off! C'est La Vie. I guess my butt would quit growing so much if I wasn't hooked on all of these shows

OH NO!!!! That's exactly the same time she has to be at her school for their chorus Christmas concert thingy. She would gladly skip it, but then she'd get a zero. And believe me, for "little miss straight a honor roll" there's no way she's taking a zero! I hate that we'll miss it. Maybe she can just go hang out another day.

That's what I was told. I found it odd because Lil RaceGirl and Wade have both done it for years and get alot of good feedback from the "patrons". We usually have to stay late for her to sign all of the autographs. I was told the music was too distracting from the other events going on.

You mean the Nativity? If so, probably not. I hear they aren't "doing" Live Music this year.

My 14 year old daughter and 12 year old niece said the same thing. Such a shame. The parade was so nice, but when it was over it looked like a war zone. People should be ashamed.

I certainly hope this teen is okay, but I disagree with the "size of Dallas" comment made earlier. I think it has less to do with the size of the town / crowd and more to do with a lack of common sense.
