  1. I looked into Mint.com a few months ago when I was giving Ubuntu a try (and seeing if I could really replace Windows). I wanted to find something that was purely online, but (as you have pointed out already, FBBC) Mint.com doesn't have bill scheduling, which is *critical* to me. Until that happens, I'm sticking with Quicken software. (And, on a sidenote... Ubuntu was a disaster. That was a personal experiment I am likely not going to repeat.)
  2. I use Quicken, and I don't think that they're being "replaced" by Mint.com. Intuit (makers of Quicken) bought Mint.com, but nothing I have read suggests that they are going to stop offering Quicken because of it.
  3. The pressure listed on the side of the tire is *not* what they are supposed to be set to; that's the maximum they should be inflated to. The proper pressure your *your* car is listed on a label inside one of the door jams. Never, ever inflate to what the tire says is the maximum... only use the pressures on the label on the car.
  4. That looks like a Cirrus SR22. Those have a parachute recovery system. From the looks of it (very little damage), I'm betting it was used. Bet the pilot is glad for that! ** Update: N451TS is a Cirrus SR22, apparently owned by a flight training company at McCollum Field.
  5. Having an engineer design ingress and egress isn't going to help when they have idiots on the ground directing buses and people. That incident was the worst display of incompetence I have ever seen. Pathetic.
  6. fyi... In some grocery stores (I haven't looked in a while, so I don't know which (if any) carry it anymore), in the big-bag bulk section of the cereal isle, you might find Quaker Sweet Crunch. It is Quisp packaged in bulk. I, too, grew up knowing Quisp. I notice that Quaker has been going retro lately, with Quisp and 70's-era Cap'n Crunch, Crunch Berries, and Peanut Butter Crunch boxes. Good stuff.
  7. Choose the channel that receives the clearest. If the manual states which channel's frequency is what, use the one for 162.425. Also, if it is a SAME radio (where you can enter a geographic code), enter 013223 for Paulding County.
  8. LOL. Yeah, I have a co-worker from India... imagine how that goes. This is an *actual* translation about an automated software build process that was broken at work, but he managed to get working again: "Hey guys this with you again. Ignore my last message I left a message about Belt's broke in. I figured out for the problem was that I'm betting I'd seems to be going okay. As far as the walk this concerned, I think, putting in a member that you started labeling summer. Phone. You Know. 457 Bend, or whatever. Thanks. Bye."
  9. Yeah, calling into the US won't help. Calling out is where the savings are with their international rates.
  10. I don't know anyone outside of the country; nobody I call, anyway. And, I don't travel much so I've never used it abroad, either. Sorry. The only number I give out anymore is the GV number. It's just so much more versatile than a standard number. It works well with my Droid, too.
  11. It's open to anyone, now. I love Google Voice.
  12. Depending on what optimization you're doing (defragmentation, I suppose), which defragger you're using (built-in, 3rd party), how badly it is fragmented, and how much it is being used for other things at the same time, it could take hours. Don't worry, though. Just let it finish. (Please tell me you're using either the built-in defragger or a reputable 3rd-party like PerfectDisk or Diskeeper and not something you downloaded for free from a site you've never heard of before on the Internet.)
  13. So, for clarification... you like this album?
  14. Satellite *doesn't* go out every time it rains. If yours does, it's poorly installed. Only in the heaviest of downpours should it ever even come close... and even that can be eliminated with a 1m dish.
  15. O.C.G.A. § 40-6-1. Observance of chapter required; punishment for violations generally; maximum fines for certain offenses (a) It is unlawful and, unless otherwise declared in this chapter with respect to particular offenses, it is a misdemeanor for any person to do any act forbidden or fail to perform any act required in this chapter. ( b ) Unless a different maximum fine or greater minimum fine is specifically provided in this chapter for a particular violation, the maximum fine which may be imposed as punishment for a first offense of violating any lawful speed limit est
  16. I have a Verizon Droid, and wouldn't give it up if I was paid to. It is a wonderful device. It's difficult to find things that it can't do.
  17. On the topic of "bug bombs", it's important to note that there are more than the run-of-the-mill mist types. Raid, for example, sells a product called a "Fumigator" that produces an insecticidal smoke through a chemical reaction and not a mist. These require no cleanup and can kill insects deep in hiding places, because the smoke billows into those areas. Now, the Fumigator will kill fleas, but not their eggs; so you'd only be fixing half the problem. But, as I said in a prior post, salting the carpets will take care of the issue within a day or so. No insecticides necessary.
  18. Embalming isn't required in the US, nor any US State. A funeral home might have their own policies on how long they are willing to house a body before needing to be preserved or disposed of, but it's not a law. (If they told him that it's required by law, he was duped.) Any funeral home that is equipped for refrigeration (and most are!) can hold someone for days without embalming. If they say they can't, they're either unequipped (unlikely) or just ripping them off for unnecessary embalming expenses.
  19. Good anti-viral software isn't heavy on computers, anymore. Modern Windows operating systems give us developers the tools and routines we need to do things with very little performance impact. (I'm a professional commercial software developer, but I don't write anti-viral apps.) He shouldn't be afraid of it. And, if the anti-viral he might choose to use DOES perform badly, get a different one. Norton AntiVirus, for example, was a pig in years past. Slow, bloated... it was very effective, but made a big impact on performance. But, three years ago they scrapped the old project and r
  20. Good, commercial anti-viral software (Norton Internet Security, McAfee) is a fraction of that. THAT is worth every penny. Buy one and keep the subscription current. Fighting malware takes time, effort, and talent... and that talent isn't cheap. So, you truly get what you pay for when it comes to good anti-viral software. Don't go cheap... go good. It will pay for itself, as you've already seen.
  21. Only on extremely rare occasions do I ever give money to anyone in person. I do my giving through reputable organizations for reputable causes. I have a knack for spotting a BS artist from miles away; those people get no attention from me.
  22. Cheap, plain ol' table salt will work just fine; no baking soda necessary. Salt the carpets well (don't skimp). Yes, you will walk on "sand" for a day (and leave it for an entire day, not just overnight... maybe even two days). Then vacuum up. I've done that a number of times; works every time.
  23. Clearly Canadian, perhaps? Those were GREAT! Loved the peach flavored one. .. edit: I see the question was already answered.
  24. Carnation Breakfast Bars were SO good. I've never had anything since that had the same flavor and texture.
