I am thinking large civic center depending on parking and size of Hotels. If you market it as a convention center and you don't meet the requirements of space and parking it earns you a bad rep in the business world. Think about a convention center as in circuses and other large productions such as Circus Sole'. We will be closer to civic center size than convention center. We will need to be able to chop it up for smaller venues and open it for large. I am waiting to see any actual drawings before passing judgement. We can keep something I described booked. Also a hotel may compete with us

There is no place for them to stay here. They all have a long tedious commute back to their hotels after 12 and fourteen hour days. They also have transportation issues and have to make those arrangements in Atlanta for the duration of the shoot. If they need something for a shoot, they stop for hours when what they need can not be found in the county. Unfortunately they look outside of our county for almost everything they need. We don't even have a comprehensive business directory on line or in print for our county. Shooting here comes with a lot of little pains in the arse. We don't give

I kind of shy away from letting the 10,000 decide anything to tell the truth but this would be a sure bet to get passed. All you have to do is get the word out that a Red Lobster was being planned for the area to get it passed. It is simply needed as an integral part of the picture to keep our retail and restaurant businesses healthy and growing. The civic center is not what is important, the hotels are to support both the airport and movie studio. Those that are against both could campaign on that to help assure those ventures fail. From a business stand point it needs to be built. My per

Missed you too, we are overdue for a lunch.

I am glad to be back after a long visit with dad. He had tears in his eyes when he talked about celebrating a holiday when he was not sick from chemo. He is still in remission, he was coming down with shingles when I arrived but got early treatment with antivirals and did not suffer. I suggest everyone be familiar with the symptoms, I have seen a lot of cases and it was nothing short of a miracle that my dad did not suffer. We got some bad news, the little antiques mall where he gets much of his winter income is closing down. The flea market is also suffering from severe economic down turn

No, business associates, not friends. Huge difference in the 2. No cozy little hunting trips or fancy dinners in fancy restaurants. Conference rooms where they bring in pizzas and Mcdonalds while they finish up.

Whitey, The quote tags on your post are off so here is my response to you, and others. Let me clarify who the 10,000 are. Most of us on this site are part of the 10,000 that keep up enough to have a clue about the county and it's leaders. We tend to ask questions and know about most candidates. The rest concern themselves with metro area news and what restaurant and stores are coming. The only common denominator for the majority are schools. We saw that with the success of this years Air show. The business owners of this county are already funding much of the growth and making the sac

This county has a long and sad history of not making the best business decisions. We currently have some of the highest tap fees in the metro area. The chains and franchises on top of all the corporations over the county line have given many a distorted view of business and jobs. Unfortunately manufacturing was told to take a hike many years ago and our past IBA did not have a board with any grasp of what was needed to attract well paying jobs. I have heard numerous times from businesses that they could not wait to get out of Paulding and were actively pursuing business exclusively in Cobb.

Manners.............. Do you practice using them in your Family?
LPPT replied to Mrs G's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yes I did mostly by example. I always said please and thank to them. I was glad to the ma'm and sir dropped. I never liked it growing up and did not teach my kids to respond to me or others with it. I appreciate many things my grandmother and mother taught me about propriety growing up. -
You can eat anything you want. Eat what he eats, I promise your volume will fall off. I try to stay at 2 cups or less every time I eat. I just had a 1000 cal breakfast and consume close to 3000 a day. I have a friend that is the same. What we have in common is we graze, eat what we want. Guilt will put the pounds on you. My weight since menopause has reset to 140 and I am fine with it. I did lose 10 lbs when I cut out diet coke. I replaced it with watered down grapefruit juice adding a few hundred more calories a day.

This is a no fail diet. First of all no artificial sweeteners. Get off soda. Next make a list of your favorite foods. Make a grocery list. Have breakfast within 1/2 hour of getting up. Eat every 2 hours until bedtime. Don't skip, not once even if you are somewhere it is not really possible. Carry nuts in your purse to make sure you don't skip or postpone. At first you will feel like you are pigging out, what will happen is that you will start eating less and your metabolism will go through the roof. If you want to lose faster you start with the same foods and method but you max out calor

My understanding of an airport this size it that flight paths are pretty much fixed. I have not seen it yet. I guess publishing it it a double edged sword. Some will be relived and others will be extremely unhappy. I can't believe anything was built within a mile of that airport after the airport started construction. Even the county built a school that close. Even with it being general aviation you want it to stay busy to be in the black. If one of those subdivisions are in the direct path, I think it should be an issue with the developers and agents. I was very upset to find out that fr

Paulding Patti, I hope that you can find satisfaction in this small victory enough to enjoy Christmas. There are no do overs in life. Take a deep breath, turn the computer off for a few days. It will all still be here. I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas. I am sincere in that. Laurie

You could have an allergy to leaf mold. I have a terrible allergy to it. When the wind blows hard like this and turns them over the spores become air born. I know I need to take my antihistamine when the wind blows hard after a rain. I always get red eyes first, then itching and stopped up.

Chairman Austin says jobs is why he is for the airport
LPPT replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
The bottom line is I have the right to support this venture. The more I see the more I realize that there was no other way to accomplish it. Between Delta and those against commercial flights, those against the airport, and those against the current administration it was not going to happen any other way. By definition an airport has planes flying in and out of it. We have too many that don't want that to ever happen. I will just sit back and watch, this reminds me way too much about the credit cart statement that was going to turn voters against David Austin. The one that had an embarrass -

So you resent that people sold family land and made good money on it? They have the right to invest their money in commercial endeavors and do what they feel is right to grow the economy here. Everyone in business shares in the economy here. I remember the building boom, there was so much money flowing in this county, all you had to do was raise your hand to catch some of it. There is no entitlement, there is money earned through hard work, those people planted the seeds of prosperity here and work hard to grow it for their children. Every community has it's royals people that often worke -

Brett Smith and Propeller don't have any financials to show. I am not really sure what you would call him and the company. I think for the most part he is a developer that has worked with companies all over the world. He basically prospects for investors looking to start up businesses in aviation. He does the research, finds the need in the market. Comes up with the concept develops the plans. He then gets in touch with his potential investors sells it to them, they in turn put up the capital. At that point Propellers financials can be in the billions. The enlargement of the taxiway a -

I apologize if the bits and pieces I have picked up about the history are incorrect, I never purposely post wrong info. Your rights and those you stand with don't trump those that are investing time and money into commercial success here whether it be a grocery store, machine shop, or mill. As I have said there is a very big price to be paid to keep Paulding as is. If you don't want your taxes raised to pay for the bonds then you won't like the cost of slowing the process. The tax payers already have made a down payment on what you don't want. That would be the new courthouse, Boe build -
The best Mac& cheese I have ever had has eggs. That is what makes it homemade. Here is a simple recipe for it. http://southernfood.about.com/od/macaroniandcheeserecipes/r/bl01011f.htm The others have a cheese sauce base and it is different from the egg recipe. I can make a cheeses sauce based one, but that has the contemporary texture and taste.
