Do you know what the average pay for a nurse is now?

Do you see how the people overseas live? no thank you.

Then there should be no problem doing it in the reverse, we will knock them down to about 5 an hour and those making 15 we drop to 10. That way the cost of living will come down for us all. We will be in a lower tax bracket so we should have plenty of money to spend.

We are now part of a global economy. We have plenty of money and labor to back it up. We have more money leaving the country than coming into it. I suggest we start there. People are too hung up on the actual number. The number has very little to do with anything. It is value of labor and products. Take $15 to the grocery store and see how far it goes.

Middle class wages have been stagnant for years. Those of us that pay our own way in the world have been the hardest hit by the increases in the cost of living. Nobody helps or subsidizes us. The poor that work these jobs have decent housing, utilities, childcare, healthcare, food and even transportation subsidized by us. If our air conditioning or hot water tank breaks we have find a way to fix it with out own money. They on the other hand call the landlord. Just an example of how the poor are often living much easier than us. The prices on many things will go up when they raise the minim

I love technology! I think that is very cool! Think about it being used for emergency medications from hospital to hospital. Even organ transplants. -
You are exactly right. If you are concerned about your children breathing carcinogenics them do not take them shopping with you especially in the summer. One trip through the parking lot on a busy summer day is the equivalent of living for years with an indoor smoker. It upsets me that people complain about their child walking through cigarette smoke going in or out of a business. I am not defending smoking it is bad for everyone and it stinks. It is nowhere near as harmful as what comes out of millions of tail pipes in a shopping center parking lot. It just seems that it keeps the f

Paleeze. why blow up your kitchen with flour? I have seen bakers that have years of experience make a batch that fails. I hate baking, it is about chemistry and luck. Too humid, to0 warm, too dry, the altitude too high or too low. The flour or yeast being too low grade. I don't make my own pie crust anymore, you know why? because of hydrogenated fats and oils. The amount of H20 is big when it comes to pie crust. Too much, too little ruins it. You can not count on what you get from the store anymore even when you use the same things any more.

Plenty of extreme right bobble heads may have many convinced that people that are concerned about people running out to buy guns and get permits is a good thing. I am sure they are convincing many that those of us concerned about this are liberal commies. I am 100% in support of the right to own and bare weapons. I am not in support of purchasing and permitting to make a point. I have met hundreds of people in my lifetime that should never have access to a gun. I don't like laws that are he said/ she said and the answer I was scared is good enough. I am not anything but rightfully concerned. -
Parker house frozen rolls. Let them thaw over night, then let them rise all day while cooking. Sooo light and fluffy when kept a a steady temp to rise.

I hope that our genetics and health history in the near future will only bring us better care in the near future. A good doctor looks at your health record and history for clues to do the best thing possible for you. This story demonstrates what can happen when new eyes look at a case. I know many healthcare workers have trained in an environment that considers will we get paid first. In the beginning, when my son was diagnosed and treated, we were given everything needed from scales and beakers to measure his meds to supplements and foods. Then genetics became more and more underfund

Because of the nature of medicine,( which is you pay doctors for an educated decision) I don't believe they have a case. I don't think this child would have made it even with a transplant with the first set of doctors that denied him. If his body did not respond to their protocol he would have died even with the transplant. To me is the organ transplant will only address one of multiple issues with a patient then the people that the organ transplant will resolve all of the issues and give them a relatively healthy life should always be first in line. There is good news for those that m

Doctors can become very single minded. What aggravates me is they basically blamed the child for not improving. It had nothing to do with their single minded belief that a heart plant was the only way. Because of that, they were making the right decision if the child's immunity is compromised. I talked to a family with a child that had a heart transplant. We all think that you have a new organ you are good to go. Nope, she explained that from the moment you receive the transplant your body begins to reject it. The anti- rejection drugs help but they do lower the immune system, as a consequen

I have been through something very similar so I will share how I feel some people are not going to like it. My son went into a coma when he was about 48hrs old. It was very slow. It started with him sleeping a longer between feedings than newborns usually do. Just an odd thing to throw in here, The first morning I awoke I was surprised that he was still sleeping. I go to the kitchen and on the way I notice while we have been sleeping my dog has found every diaper we changed, made a pile of them and there he lay with his head on them and growled when anyone came near. I am thinking strang

Georgia man stands ground, result 72 yr old vet with Alzheimer's dead

I don't expect to influence anyone, one way or the other. We are going to see more collateral damage from this frenzy of people that have never been armed, arming themselves. That old man was collateral damage as far as I am concerned. We are to have people killing their own children coming home late at night. We are going to have more people taking unreasonable risk resulting in shooting deaths. There needs to be a heavy consequence for standing your ground to discourage people like this man taking a bigger risk than necessary. There is only one reason to own a gun, that is to shoot a -

I carried for many years. You never forget for a moment that you have it until you put it away at night. Why don't I carry now? My husband was a gun nut. Not only did he constantly think about guns he thought about why you have them, meaning self protection. So every time you feel that weight, you think about feeling threatened. You think so often about the possibility of being harmed. You also have to think about what circumstances you will uses it. Most people's tolerances are set before they ever feel threatened. People that carry tend to see threat in a lot of things, I know I did. Wal -
CNN and MSNBC lose nearly half their viewership in the past year
LPPT replied to glassdogs's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have my google news set to exclude Fox news. I seldom click on a CNN article, MSNBC is almost never in the feed. I like reading articles and sometimes I will check multiple sources for the same story. I like PBS also. My favorite articles are science, health and technology. On the days I don't check news I am a lot happier and optimistic about life in general. Negativity sells, I think we are just gluttons for punishment. -
We did the family Thanksgiving last Sunday. We had Thanksgiving this evening with our adopted family the Surepips. Surepip fried the turkey and Mrs. Surepip made black bottom pie Yummy. We just got in, I went to Jcpenney for some early Christmas shopping. JCPenney is the only place I go for black Friday the last few years. They carry pretty good quality merchandise, I feel like you really do get good deals. Shopping Thanksgiving night is a first. I really don't mind. We take the kids to the movies when we are in Fl. This is our first Thanksgiving at home in about 7 years.
