  1. I am trying to find out about a political PAC. It is supposedly called the West Ga. Values PAC run by G.Patton Hughes and the Paulding county Democratic party. They are supposedly using it to support Republican candidate for district 13 Boyd Austin against his opponent Jason Antivitarte. I can't find the PAC by google and ll I hear are rumors When I first saw it I thought it was a "Karen" meme it was so ridiculous.
  2. Paulding industrial development agency OKs land deal for new business park Paulding County’s Industrial Building Authority is buying land to develop a new business park near Ga. Hwy. 92 in Hiram as it works to complete a deal to sell a site to a tire maker in west Dallas. The building authority has agreed to buy a 127-acre tract on Bill Carruth Parkway at Laird Road in Hiram for development of a park, said authority director Robert Crouse. Crouse did not disclose the price but said it was “reasonable” and will allow it to compete for buyers without taking a loss. The site is about a half-mile west of Carruth Parkway’s intersection with Ga. Hwy. 92, also known as Hiram-Douglasville Highway. GDOT is widening and rebuilding Hwy. 92 between Hiram and Douglasville which will give southeast Paulding County — including the building authority’s site — and western Cobb County quicker access to I-20. “That is some really prime property,” Crouse said. He said the building authority is “going to try to be frugal” with the money it received earlier this year from the sale of Atlanta Film Studios.

  6. Cobb doctors blamed for man's death, Kaiser Permanente settles with widow The widow of a 25-year-old man who died in February 2016 of testicular cancer has received a confidential payout from Kaiser Permanente, as a settlement in her wrongful death lawsuit against the national health provider and two of its physicians. Alabama resident Courtney Stephens, who used to live with her husband Ryan Stephens in Paulding County, claimed two doctors at Kaiser Permanente’s West Cobb Medical Center in Austell neglected to perform standard tests on her late husband, leading to his cancer going undiagnosed for over six months and his subsequent death. Her lawsuit against Drs. Audra Ford and Barry Mason as well as Kaiser Permanente was filed in the State Court of Fulton County on Oct. 16, 2017.

  8. Paulding County offering deal to encourage Costco to finalize store site purchase. Paulding County will spend a half-million dollars to help develop the future site of big-box retailer Costco as part of the government’s effort to encourage the retailer to build a new store near Dallas. The Paulding County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday, Oct. 22, for development agreements with Costco and a Woodstock-based company from which the retailer is nearing a purchase of 21 acres on Ga. Hwy. 120, also known as Charles Hardy Parkway, in Dallas. The county’s contribution to the project will be taken from its budget reserves and total about $510,000 for road and sewer system improvements and installation of traffic signal equipment, officials said. It will not be done if Costco does not complete the purchase it has been negotiating with Woodstock-based 1260 Airport Drive LLC since 2018, the agreements stated. According to the county’s development agreement, 1260 Airport Drive has the planned store site “under contract” with Costco — which typically means the seller has accepted the buyer’s offer but the sale is not yet completed.
  9. Paulding Defendant Sentenced to Two Consecutive Life Sentences for 2002 Double Murder On September 27th 2019, Paulding Superior Court Judge T. David Lyles sentenced Andrew Shadrix to the maximum punishment possible for the 2002 murder of Jeffrey Jackson and Shad English. In September of 2002, Jeffrey and Shad were shot to death; their bodies were put in the trunk of a car and driven to Fulton County. An extensive investigation was conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies but no charges were brought at the time of the murder. Following new leads, Deputies with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office working with the Paulding County District Attorney’s Office, took up the investigation. These efforts resulted in the Defendant giving a full confession. The 2002 sentencing provisions do not allow for a sentence of life without the possibility of parole. At the sentencing hearing, the State, through Chief Assistant District Attorney Matthew Rollins, requested the maximum punishment possible and Judge Lyles agreed. Andrew Shadrix was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences. This means that the second life sentence will not start until after the first. While we can never bring back the victims of this senseless act of violence, we hope that this brings some level of closure to the victim’s families. We would like to thank the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, the Atlanta Police Department, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Cobb County Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the hard work and dedication they have shown in this case.

    The irony

I just had to share this. A company with the word as in it's name takes issue with a picture of a prospective employee having a bikini picture on her Instagram. They not how unprofessional it is to have a picture like that on her account. Try walking into a church and telling them you have found them a marketing company with kickass as part of their company name. But as she was scrolling through the company's Instagram story, Clow said she saw a photo of herself in a red two-piece bathing suit with a warning message to potential applicants. "PSA (because I know some of you applicants are looking at this) do not share your social media with a potential employer if this is the kind of content on it. I am looking for a professional marketer - not a bikini model," it read. Another message on the photo read: "Go on with your bad self and do whatever in private. But this is not doing you any favors in finding a professional job." Kickass Masterminds describes itself as a consulting firm that specializes in "rigorously curated and professionally facilitated structured mastermind groups."
  12. I have another business that is going to start collecting this week. Let me know when you want to pick up and so I can give Frank a heads up.
  13. PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. - Hiram police are looking for a missing child. Danielle Vinett, 13, is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black-and white-striped shirt, blue jeans and sneakers, according to Paulding County Sheriff's Office officials. Vinett is with an unknown man and woman, they said. Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call 911 or the Hiram Police Department immediately.
  14. Deputies in Paulding County are searching for missing 22-year-old woman. Relatives tell investigators they lost all contact with Laura Kate Wilson about two weeks ago. Deputies said she has ties to Paulding, Hall, and Cherokee counties. Wilson is described by deputies as being 5 feet tall, weighing about 115 pounds, with brown hair, and blue eyes. She has three tattoos. One is "Gracie May" on her collar bone, she has an "Aries" symbol on her right forearm, and a diamond shape on one of her ankles. Anyone who sees her is asked to call 911 immediately or the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division at 770-443-3015.
  15. I saw a man going into Walmart on a scooter Saturday. He had his service dog with him. He had a special handle and vest on. The dog did not look around at the people wagging and panting. he watched the man and where the man was going intensely. I knew beyond a doubt this dog was working and more than likely cost a lot of money. I knew this dog nor that man wanted my attention, this man was trying to do ordinary things we take for granted with the assistance of a trained professional to do that job. I can not count the times I have been down that my dogs have comforted me. When I walk them in the evening we get compliments on how cute and well behaved they are. Bear, the great Pyr is a neighborhood celebrity. I know that I don't really have the right to expect those things when I go shopping or on a trip, I will have to go without experiencing those good feelings until I get home. Shame on people that take advantage of the privileges bestowed on those that ordinary things are a daily struggle. People that have to save their money for a professionally trained animal to assist them in public.
  16. I am excited to see you taking an interest not only in the plaza but our community. I sincerely hope that all your businesses there are a success. Feel free to make announcements here.
  17. Additional Arrest Made in West Paulding Arson/Murder (Paulding County, GA) On Thursday September 19, 2019 Detectives with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) secured warrants on an additional suspect in the August 26, 2019 arson/murder of Austin James Nicholson (W/M, 24 YOA). Detectives and Agents charged Carlos Fredrico Hightower (B/M, 28 YOA) with the below offenses which are connected to the 2019 arson/murder. The 2019 arson/murder of Nicholson stems from the 2017 murder of Ronald Chadwick Morgan (W/M, 31 YOA) which occurred on Holly Springs Road. Carlos Fredrico Hightower (B/M, 28 YOA) 2019 Charges -Malice Murder (F) -Murder (F) -Arson 1st Degree (F) -Influencing Witnesses (F) (2 Counts) -Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (F) (2 Counts) -Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (F) (2 Counts) -Aggravated Assault (F) (5 Counts) -Criminal Damage to Property 2nd Degree (F) 2017 Charges -Murder (F) 2017 Murder on Holly Springs Road On January 20, 2017 Paulding Deputies responded to the area of 1680 Holly Springs Road Rockmart, GA 30153 (Paulding County) reference a shooting that had occurred. Detectives and GBI Agents ultimately discovered that Ronald Chadwick Morgan had been shot to death while riding a motorcycle on Holly Springs Road. Austin James Nicholson, Carlos Fredrico Hightower, and Magan Darleen Carroll were charged in connection with Morgan’s murder. Nicholson, Hightower, and Carroll were arrested on January 21, 2017. It is believed that the murder was the result of some type of dispute over property. On February 11, 2017 Nicholson and Carroll bonded out of the Paulding County Jail. Hightower, due to the fact that he had a Probation Violation, stayed in jail and ultimately went back to prison. Prior to Hightower begin transferred back to prison, he posted bond on the 2017 murder charges, but was never released from custody. Hightower was subsequently released from prison on April 6, 2019. When he was released from prison, he still had not been to trial on the 2017 murder charges. 2019 “Drive-by Shooting” on Winding Valley Drive At approximately 11:28 PM on August 25, 2019 a 911 call was placed to Paulding E911 from 378 Winding Valley Drive Rockmart, GA 30153 (Paulding County / Country Walk Subdivision) reference a drive-by shooting. Deputies and Detectives immediately responded to the scene and confirmed that multiple rounds had been fired at the home from a vehicle in the roadway. Fortunately, no one was injured inside the residence. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as being a black sedan which left the scene at a high rate of speed. It must be noted that this is the former residence of Magan Darleen Carroll who was a co-conspirator in the 2017 murder of Morgan. 2019 Arson/Murder on Vinson Mountain Crossing While Detectives were still processing the scene of the drive-by shooting, a 911 call was place to Paulding E-911 at approximately 12:48 AM on August 26, 2019 in reference to a vehicle on fire at 2172 Vinson Mountain Crossing Rockmart, GA 30153 (Paulding County). Paulding Fire/Rescue personnel along with Deputies and Detectives responded to the scene and eventually discovered that a badly burned body was inside what was later determined to be a black in color Acura TL passenger car. As a result of the forensic investigation by the GBI, it was later determined that the body inside the car belonged to Austin James Nicholson and that he had been shot prior to the car being set on fire. As a result of an extensive amount of investigative work, Detectives and Agents determined that Nicholson and Hightower had just completed the drive-by shooting and now Nicholson was dead. Deputies and Probation Officers were able to arrest Hightower in the afternoon hours on August 26, 2019 on a Probation Violation warrant. Hightower was booked into the Paulding County Jail and held on his probation violation charge until he was officially charged with the aforementioned offenses on September 19, 2019. Detectives and Agents believe that Hightower and Nicholson went to Carroll’s residence and conducted the drive-by shooting in an effort to keep her quiet about the upcoming 2017 murder trial. Detectives and Agents also believe that a short time later, Hightower shot Nicholson and then burned his vehicle to hide any evidence of either crime. Hightower’s girlfriend, Akeyla Xemaja “KeKe” Philpot (B/F, 23 YOA) was arrested on September 12, 2019 and charged with Murder (F), Arson (F), Influencing Witnesses (F), and VGCSA Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute for her role in assisting Hightower in this case. Although Hightower has not been cooperative throughout the course of this investigation, Detectives and Agents believe that he was trying to silence and/or kill the co-conspirators from the 2017 murder of Ronald Chadwick Morgan. As this investigation unfolds, Detectives and Agents are discovering a very tangled web of criminal activity with some of the individuals involved in these cases. Detectives and Agents want to encourage anyone who may have additional information in these cases to please call the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at (770) 443-3015 or Crime Stoppers Atlanta at (404) 577-TIPS (7477). 21. A box will be in the office of Penney Family Chiropractic by the end of the day.
  22. I know we have all seen this. abandoned chairs on the beach. People just walk away and leave chairs, umbrellas and other things they are too lazy and sorry to take to the trash. I don't know what is in the minds of people that liter. I was raised never to do it. As in the car stopped on the side of the road and a stern lecture for throwing anything out the window. The pictures of innocent animals dying a slow and agonizing death from pollution turn my stomach. What did this animal and others do to deserve this other than not being born human I can't imagine. It seems life is only precious when it is our own, suffering only counts when it is our own. The link takes you to CNN to the photo contest this was part of. Cruelty in nature does not justify cruelty in humans as many think we know what we are doing, that is what is so tragic.
  23. I will put up a sign and box at Hubby's office and see if I can get some other business owners to help also. Is there some specifics you are desperately in need of?
