Melissa Morrison for State House District 19
LPPT replied to surepip's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I don't think so. you can check the secretary of state website. -
He is not running for office! Nobody is any farther left than our dear Publisher, it took me 2 days to talk him out of running for office on the Democratic ticket. Both of these candidates are great people, I usually get to know the candidates well when they come to us for advertising. I tried to be fair and help them all equally. I did the same thing in the last campaign for district 19. I do my best to keep my personal feelings out of it. The only time I can't do that is when I know they have wronged people. One thing that impressed me about Micheal in our conversations is he is

Link to story I love this story! how many times are the taxpayers on the line for stupid mistakes and unethical back room deals. The Peach Tree city council says not anymore! 4-1 vote trims monthly pay from $750 to $75 to recoup legal fees from libel suit To help recoup what has become more than $12,000 in legal fees spent to defend Mayor Don Haddix from a libel lawsuit, the Peachtree City Council voted to give him a significant pay cut. It means that Haddix will be paid just under $75 a month for the last three months of the fiscal year, a reduction of approximately $65

The way I understand if you pass in the hospital the family calls the funeral home, I don't think the coroner is involved. Basically someone checks into the hospital and the hospital checks them out at this point. I would think the coroner would check them into the morgue and they would be checked out by the chosen funeral home. The hospital already has the personal they are paying to do this. I know we have a budget crunch now, I simply see this as easier on many families, I know some already know where they want to go, but others would have time to make arrangements. I don't think we are

The most important thing to me when it comes to coroner is training. Not what it cost or where the body goes. A coroner's job is to determine if the death is suspicious in any way. Training and certification cost money, I have no issue with paying for that training. You get what you pay for, if someone smothers their 90 year old mother because her care is eating up the assets of the estate, they need to stand trial. I don't want suspicious things overlooked because a family is prominent. I would like to see someone petition Wellstar for a morgue, it will not be that expensive to build at

I have pictures and video, I could not get anyone on the scene to give me much detail, even the identity of the driver. The employees stated that the driver and passenger did not to be seriously injured. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgByTM5t0PA&feature=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgByTM5t0PA&feature=youtu.be

I don't know who was inspecting my home when it was built, what I do know is that when my furnace was installed along with all the ventilation, it passed, obviously because we were able to close. Just last year I replaced my furnace before my air conditioning, which as I understand is unusual. Ragsdale did the service and explained to me that my HVAC system was not properly sealed, causing my furnace to over heat. I understand everything wears out, but this was a safety hazard that put my family in danger. As far as I am concerned the county was trusted to inspect my home not only for sa

Yep there is a lot of crap out there! Here is a shovel for everyone, know what is important to you! Make a phone call, the people are accessible, especially right now during election time, email them call them. Put elect- in google. You do not have to take anyone's word for anything. If they don't answer you that is your answer. If you take some one's answer over and above the candidate's that is your problem. I have seen supporters ruin more candidates than opposition over the years. An old fashioned term comes to mind..It's your funeral.

Carruth - has he been declared qualified to run?
LPPT replied to LisaC's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Actually a lot of great candidates qualified to serve never get a chance to serve because they they can't afford to put on the dog and pony show. Backing a candidate is like playing the lottery, you buy the ticket for them, then you hope if they win your name gets pulled out of the hat when it comes to doing favors for those that got you there. I have defended Mr. Carruth based on my knowledge, I have defended other folks, and quite honestly after many elections, Pubby, P.com and I are nothing but gum stuck to their shoes when it comes down to it. My pay off comes every morning when I look -

LPPT replied to LisaC's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I talk to these candidates all the time donations are way down. If you don't believe me check the signs in town. Way less signs. Mr. Carruth's war chest looks good now, but we are talking way back on the trip. -
Carruth - has he been declared qualified to run?
LPPT replied to LisaC's topic in Paulding County NEWS
As far as I know Bill Carruth was invited to go on a trip to Washington DC to meet with some folks that a group of our local politicians and business people were meeting with. We actually have the story on here somewhere, (maybe Pubby can find it). I think the question was whether he paid his own way, part of it, or if the county picked up the entire tab. I believe it may have had to do with getting the money to move the reservoir project forward and since Bill was on the DNR he could answer many of the questions and knew the people in DC that assist with these projects. I am a voter, I -

I am confused about the modern views of the KKK. The basis of their beliefs are intolerance of other races do they want to teach others to be intolerant? It was quite obvious what their historical goals were. I just don't quite get the purpose of their organization. Ban together with the common purpose to share their hatred? I can't make any sense of it. They certainly have the right to do it and there freedom should be protected. I know exactly what I would think of a town or state should I drive through it and see the sign on the highway. I can only imagine how the residents

Dang! I thought we were going to have one of those North versus South drama threads. Just to get it started, gators ain't no worse than all them sharks in the big cities up North where folks live on postage stamps and can count the pimples on their neighbors butts through the kitchen whendur.

Your right it would have been better for him to have been arrested, done 5 years and get out to molest more children until he was caught again. Everyone is likes this article because it is a fact that pedophilia is an incurable disorder and these people are released over and over to victimize children. Molestation is usually a life sentence for the victim, when justice is served maybe people won't be applauding stuff like this. This man saved his daughter and God knows how many other children.

If you read the entire article the man expressed remorse for murdering him. He beat the man with his hands so it is possible he did not intend to kill him, he just lost it.

I always think how hard it must be for people to control themselves when sitting in a courtroom when these cases are tried. I think temporary insanity is a given in this case.

Link to story Sheriff's deputies in Texas won't file charges against a father who they say beat an acquaintance to death after allegedly catching him sexually abusing the man's 4-year-old daughter. During a social gathering on Saturday, the girl went inside the family's home in Shiner while other members of the family were tending to horses outside, CNN reported. The father caught a 47-year-old man -- with whom he was casually acquainted -- attempting to molest his daughter, Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon told the Victoria Advocate. The father then allegedly punched th

This is going to far, I laugh at the cartoons about politicians as much as anyone. This is not funny, quite honestly this is no different than seeing our president burnt in effigy in some of the middle eastern countries, I feel exactly the same way about this. These people have made a bold statement of hatred towards the leader of our country. They are a terrorist mob. No matter how you feel about our current president, the rules of our society are to respect the office. The anything goes mentality shows regression of our society. I felt exactly the same way then, it is wrong. Disa
