The way I understand if you pass in the hospital the family calls the funeral home, I don't think the coroner is involved. Basically someone checks into the hospital and the hospital checks them out at this point. The most important thing to me when it comes to coroner is training. Not what it cost or where the body goes. A coroner's job is to determine if the death is suspicious in any way. Actually a lot of great candidates qualified to serve never get a chance to serve because they they can't afford to put on the dog and pony show. Your right it would have been better for him to have been arrested, done 5 years and get out to molest more children until he was caught again.
