I think they should allow it. First of all the community would get to see their faces and know them. This would be very good for business. Especially their employers. Secondly people would be able to show their opinion of them by giving them plenty to clean up or a black eye for adopting the nastiest mile of highway in the state and not keeping it clean like they are supposed to. I would save my scooped dog poop for every time I drove through there.

Twelve minutes with District 19 Candidate Michael James
LPPT replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
I may ask Pubby to change the title to say meet the Paulding candidates as I am going to try to interview everyone that will agree to it. I feel very strongly about people casting an informed vote. -
Why not, they won't starve they have SS and medicare to fall back on. Poor poor company has to pay sooo many taxes.

Link to article The Georgia Department of Transportation is reviewing the May 21 request filed by International Keystone Knights of the KKK in Union County and are set to meet with lawyers from the state attorney general’s office today to decide what to do. The application — which covers a one-mile stretch of Route 515 in the Appalachian Mountains near the North Carolina border — has placed Georgia officials in a bind. A lengthy legal battle took place in Missouri after that state sought to ban an effort by the KKK to adopt a road there. Missouri eventually lost, with courts holding

They don't do squat without people working for them and helping them and that is a fact. How long you gonna stand in line ay Mickey D's waiting on the owner to take your order, cook it, take your money and serve you your food?

If you have not noticed there seems to be a common trend among companies to do these things. There seems to be an executive union that says if we all do this then they will have accept it. We are allowing these peoples to distance themselves from the consequences of their actions by allowing them to become so wealthy that they are untouchable. It's not a principle, it is a fact just as the consequences of their actions are being seen today. These companies blame everyone but themselves for their stupid practices that have resulted in this recession.

Two young girls dead in Dallas subdivision drowning

I just heard on the radio the caretaker will be charged with reckless conduct. They said that the lady was a live-in house keeper. Not sure if we have the story right that it was the grandmother or that the radio station does. -
First of all they don't ask us to share our labor, we are forced to to survive. They are not going to get rich if we don't share our labor, lets tell it like it really is instead of pretending they are doing us a favor. Second of all it is a stupid practice, if this obscene amount of pay, is paid in liquid assets such as cash you remove any and all motivation to continue to make the company profitable and to concern yourself with how your actions effect the American economy, they are set for life. The practice has also resulted in employees not caring about a company being successful beca

The problem with this is that you and I the taxpayer end up paying for this. 1000's of large companies are doing this and while they are doing this wages have stayed flat and benefits have been cut. Stock holders also suffer many of which are somewhat low wage earners invested in mutual funds for retirement. There is no way that thousands of Ceo' and executives making this kind of money can support an economy of this size in any significant way, even if they spent a lifetime spending all day. When you add up the numbers of these Ceo's you could probably impact employment by 4-6%. Peop

This is what scares me, had both mine and my husbands parents saved a million dollars for retirement they both would have gone through all of it had they not had medicare. If they had not saved that much and we had to take care of their medical and living expenses we would have been bankrupted and probably in serious debt. I have no idea what full coverage health policies cost for people in their 70's and and 80's I don't know of anyone that has them. With the way things are even allowing people to invest more of their retirement does not mean that they will have enough when they retir

I am just sorry I let Mr. Dis have it. His post hit me the wrong way after having a friend tell me they had gone through their retirement and savings, they were so thankful that they had it to help them get by. They had started a business and had a really rough time, not because they had done anything wrong, but the timing was terrible with the recession. There was a time when people that did not succeed at being in business could close the doors and go back to work in the private sector and that is not true now. I am growing increasingly cynical, my eyes have been opened to so muc

I talked to someone that thought they performed autopsies, I said I am pretty sure the the GBI does that.

Greed, after what I saw with the housing crash, the private sector scares the sheeze out of me. All it took was government leaders with the same greedy mindset as private enterprise to bring us to the brink of disaster and it may still happen.

You are going to think I am a little off topic here, but this is what I believe. It will take many generations to reverse the problems with the issues you brought up. All these problems start with people, especially people in power. Some have done these things with the best of intentions and some greed. People need to fundamentally change to improve the things you pointed out. I believe that the best thing we could do is to develop behavioral science curriculum and begin implementing it as soon as possible in the schools. We create better human beings to lead in the future and we wi

It absolutely is a sacred cow, not because I made it so, or even want it to be. But as long as the lives of millions of people depend on it, it is! Not dependent on it to have a nice little retirement with new cars every 10 years, or maintain McMansions, golf and tennis at the club,it's for survival. They mostly have the most modest of shelter, use public transportation, have phones with basic service and often tens of thousands of dollars in co-pays. It allows my father to live independently, and with dignity, it pays for his 10 years of cancer treatment. He paid it in, he had a 401K an

This is how I see it, people that work for the government are playing it safe. They are guaranteed wages, holidays, paid vacations and the rest of the benefits that come with the packages. 401k.s are low risk and with that comes lower yield. We all absolutely know that our ss taxes are currently paying straight to retired people not going in to future fund for our retirement. It amazes me the people that feel they have certain entitlements because they work for companies that basically model themselves after the government. Quite honestly things don't have to be done this way, I am a

Put myself where, as self employed which I enjoy. Where I am left to invest in my own retirement. You know the riskier no guarantee retirement. The one that does not get serviced in the up and down economy. The one no employer matches. You better bet that when mine doesn't get fed that those that government employees do because I still have to pay taxes to make sure the golden parachute floats over government employees. My take was he doesn't think his retirement is going to be as good as it should be based on government retirement plan, he wants it better. Just so you know many small bus
-
Someone that decided to go for the golden parachute is gonna talk to the rest of us about retirement and benefits, as in his suck or aren't good enough! I don't freakin think so. I live in the real world of the self employed pick yourself up by the bootstraps zero parachute. The parachute I freakin pay for, with zero job security!

Lets assume that based on the sense of your argument is based on, lets start next month and not take SS out of any wages because what you have presented is a wonderful idea. Please feel free to describe in detail what life will be like in the united states from then on. No need to include how wonderful Your life will be that is a given especially since I am assuming that your parents invested or save enough to cover their financial and medical needs until their death. I have grown weary of rhetoric that stops at just that, with no discussion or inclusion beyond face value of the warm fuz

This idea has become very popular over the last few years. It would be wonderful if we were getting that kind of return. I think that we need to talk about things in terms of reality. Do you ever look back over your life and start in with the ifs. The first reality check here is this, there is absolutely nothing stopping people from investing for retirement. You can go without some extras and invest that money. I don't remember my grandparents fussing over SS they knew that no matter how bad things got, even living hand to mouth as long as they worked it would be paid in and when

Senate 31 candidate Carruth residency challenged
LPPT replied to GreenEyedGirl's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I am so disturbed by this, the idea that even one more child might have suffered while waiting for this bill to be reintroduced makes me sick. -
That was her side of it, the police report says they found a scratch on her neck.

You are right, it is a nightmare. The construction is not great for a busy restaurant.

I agree with that, but I can tell you this, you can't spank the behind of an adult sized teen that is fighting you. I never raised my hand to my parents, when you raise your hand to your parent when they are disciplining you (not beating, that is different) it becomes an adult verses adult situation and it is every man for himself, welcome to the grown up world kiddo!
