  1. My issue with it is responsibility if them being on the street or working in the kitchens of restaurants puts them under suspicion of illegal activity, being here illegally, why aren't people calling the cops? If you see someone breaking in your neighbors house you are going to call, why not call when surrounded by hundreds of Mexican when you are surrounded by them in Walmart on Saturday? We are adding layers of bureaucracy to solve this, I don't believe we need it. If we want them gone then we call the cops on them, no papers, back to Mexico you go. Being illegal here no big deal
  2. This is the biggest bunch of bull hockey I have read in a long time. I couldn't get halfway through the bill after I read the level bureaucracy it was going to add to the system, you know those people we adopt for life when we hire them. There is nothing unconstitutional about requiring that the parents of any child provide proof of citizenship before getting social services, enrolling in school or getting a drivers license. Talk about closing the barn door after the fact. The majority of illegals are gone along with the rest of the jobs. All I see is a bunch of venders to jails, and softwa
  3. Don't dis patch too much, doing news live is very difficult without a big budget, someone had ask me why we didn't transcribe live like they do, and I said I would not want to take the chance of missing words and changing the interpretation or miss quoting. This was particularly critical to getting every word right because of the serious nature of it. We have been waiting to do the story until we get the judgement, just because zerox requested she pay all the money immediately or go to prison does not mean that is what will happen.
  4. Story Here If you’ve been shopping for a sizable reason to vote against metro Atlanta’s transportation sales tax next month, but have been unable to find one that’s XXL or larger, try this on: The tax and the people behind it are part of a United Nations plot called Agenda 21. Laugh if you like. The topic is now center stage in Cobb County, as part of the debate over the penny sales tax, and the contest for chairman of the county commission as well. Those who aren’t hardcore GOP will need a bit of background. Agenda 21 is also known as the “Rio Declaration on Environment and
  5. AM Not http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0rTfQ7NEn4 This is just one of them.
  6. A Trojan commercial just came on, I glanced up and I was shocked to see they were selling a personal vibrator, and got a little graphic about describing what a wonderful experience it provided. You could trust the product because it was the same high quality as their other products. This was AMC I mean really, it is not a channel I ask the kids to leave the room to watch. How do you explain that one to your kids
  7. As always we are camping under the umbrella all day watching water go out and come in. We have been coming so many years the barmaids at Doc's put our corona's with limes in them on the bar when we stop by after dinner every night. We walk the dogs, eat breakfast at sunrise every morning. The beaches are not crowded, we love that personally, but we know the local businesses owners are suffering and we have become rather attached to them after all these years. We saw and did everything you can do with the kids here for years, now we are having a wonderful vacation, the highlight of
  8. I want to remind everyone the Paulett, Melissa and Micheal will be debating tonight at the Dallas theater,it starts at 7, plenty of time to plan to be there.
  9. Our population is well over 147,000 and still growing even in this economy, we are obligated as a county to meet the needs of all these people, especially judiciously. You are not allowed to let people rot in jail because you only have one or 2 courtrooms, We had not even started into a recession when many of the new government buildings were started. I don't like a lot of things about the recession, but people trying to hang local politicians for things beyond their control are not right. I was not fond of Mr. Shearin towards the end of his term but I will admit I benefited greatly fr
  10. On top of that when he took office 3 projects were on the books, a fire station and library along with a park were in progress, over a million dollars had been spent on plans before the foundations were poured. He took these back to the drawing board, had them rebuilt and saved the county tax payers millions while continuing meet the obligations. He blew the dust off of the reservoir project had the studies completed and is actively trying to fund it. He has actively researched the infrastructure needs of manufacturing companies, light industrial, and warehouse, to bring companies here t
  11. I just called him 5 minutes ago and he denied saying anything negative about Mrs. Morrison, not sure what to make of this.
  12. It use to boom around here before the recession. We drove down here on 16 as it is the best way to get here from Atlanta. We have also made day trips to Charleston in the past up 95. I couldn't help but think about the dredging of the Savannah harbor and the economic boon it would be not just for Georgia but the entire country. Manufacturing is supposed to be coming back to the United States due to the Chinese converting their economy to a consumer base. With automation it makes sense to start manufacturing here, instead of importing. That is great news, but I was thinking abo
  13. I am not against some type of public transportation here. We don't even have taxi cabs that are legal to drive in the county. We are paying an ambulance service for non-emergency trips to the ER. Our lack of any type of public transportation leaves the elderly without transport to many needed services. It also puts people that have lost their jobs at a terrible disadvantage, they must find the funds to maintain a vehicle and insure it. We have people camping on the Silver comet trail. We need more jobs within the county and that comes down to economic development. As far as I am concer
  14. Thats Pubby not me. I don't go around publishing my conversations with candidates unless I have their permission. Thats a good thing.
  15. My issue is that Ms. Morrison's boss holds public office I don't think it is fair to him to claim he is saying these things. My bias always lays with leadership that will be good for the county, what is good for the majority of the county is always good for me. You are welcome to ask any elected official in this county if I have ever ask a favor or used this site as leverage against them. I expect anyone running for office to be at least 1/2 as informed as I am about county business.
  16. I could do the research and see, but I am on vacation and if I get caught on here there will be big trouble from the big boss It also concerns me someone is publishing that Ms Morrisons x-boss is saying bad things about her, it's not just credibility in question here, but what is being said reflects on someone's character that is probably not aware of it. Politics as usual, anything to win.
  17. I use the little scroll wheel on the mouse, I make it zip very very fast, the bolding helps you to know when to stop scrolling fast
  18. That type of accusation would have more credibility if you signed it with your real name, like Mason Rountree does when he makes statements about Bill Heath.
  19. I think you know that is not what I meant,I specifically referred to popular rhetoric on national subjects, which believe it or not I keep up with pretty well. Nothing turns me off faster than rhetoric, it has taken the place of meaningful discussion which is what I want to see. I am not sure that people are concerned with meaningful conversation as much as testing if people are following the chosen sources.
  20. Under the narrow definition that you gave they are indeed a republic in that they are ruled by law, the difference is the law makers are not chosen by a democratic process known as voting.
  21. Just to change the subject here, we have 2 candidates that are willing to come on the board and communicate the people they want to serve. You don't often find candidates that are willing to be this open. Most candidates hire someone to work their facebook pages. There is a very good reason for that. Having spoken personally to both candidates I know for a fact that neither of them have ever visited the political forum. I was also a little worried that neither of them had boned up on popular rhetoric, they both are focused on local issues and the needs of people locally. This is my fe
  22. What about the Republic of China? We don't refer to it as a democracy. We do have a democratic form of government. Does China have republican form of government or not?
  23. The list continues to grow along with the opposition to the bill. There was the first criticism about the bill not really having any teeth. Then when that comes out about it, we realize that indeed this bill only has baby teeth, so why all the criticism and fear? My guess is the fear that it will grow big teeth. The opposition has made some outlandish statements about forcing the gift giving under ground, is that to say that legislatures are so lacking in integrity that they will not be able to resist the temptation to take a gift under the table, MMMMMM! The rumor that really gets to m
  24. I certainly hope that is not the case. I have never met anyone that had as much passion for the welfare of kids as you do. If all teachers had this much passion we could change the world one kid at a time. I am taking up for you on the Democracy issue, I understood the context that you were using it in, when we describe other forms of government through out the world it is common to say, one is communist, a dictatorship, or a democracy. You have lived in this country all your life and you know exactly how our government is supposed to work. I would point to a major flaw in our republic and th
