  1. La scalia is a huge rip off, stay away far way. I very seldom say anything bad about a business, we went after my daughter's graduation the food was beyond terrible, a 300.00 check for stuff we not only couldn't finish we did not want to, it was garbage.
  2. I have a very long list of what I love about Paulding. I can name dozens of fund raisers that the community has come together for, people with cancer, help with burials, rebuilding burned out homes. Most recently the tornadoes, Paulding needed almost no outside help as what was not covered by insurance was taken care of by volunteers and donations. We are kind of like family, we squabble over the little things but when something serious happens we forget our petty squabbles and come together. I truly do love Paulding for the wonderful people here.

    Thank you!

Aww I love to hear about people doing good deeds. I am glad you got some help.
  4. You won't get any argument from me about how bad social medicine is going to be. I have been using Kaiser for years, their model is what our system will be based on. There was a time when I would have been right there with all of you about this issue. I believe that public and private are 2 sides of the same coin. There was a time when I would have said if it is all or nothing go with the private side. That was before the recession and bail outs, they reveal a lot about how private companies were operating behind the scenes, extravagant over the top salaries decided on by those that would
  5. Just so you know practitioners generally have to pay personnel to go to classes about every 6 months to keep up with what medicaid is currently coding for, because it constantly changes. Medicare expenditures are “squandered on fraudulent or improper Medicare claims.” It is not unusual to have claims kicked back multiple times from medicaid or insurance companies, it is not fraud, it is we don't have enough money to currently cover these claims so we are going to kick it back until we have the money. So they get to count a kick back of a claim as fraud? or the many times you are staring
  6. Well the lower classes and the upper classes are hands off. It is always us.
  7. I get beat up enough on here I don't want to add another few thousand more to let me have it
  8. I agree that it was very poorly written, the more I read about it the angrier I get. We could not go on as we have been, we all know that. The worse thing about it is it didn't do a single thing to lower cost but will actually raise the cost of healthcare through bureaucracy. But what did we expect? JJ I assumed that medicare was the same as medicaid, that if your income was low enough you didn't pay anything. Unless things have change medicaid only covers pregnant women and children. It does not cover men and women which is what is costing us the most, they are not seeking medical atten
  9. Whitey the latest I hear on the regional Tsplost is to check who owns the land that the improvement projects are going through. Of course these roads have existed for a long time and land has exchanged hands over time and probably some was bought based on future development and profits. I believe that that is a pretty acceptable way for people to make money. These people will sell the land at a profit to a developer they will build businesses on it and they will provide jobs. There are 10 -12 road improvements on that list. We don't know if all of the county is against the Tsplost until
  10. I read the AJC article about expanding medicaid and what it would cost in tax revenue. First of all medicaid needs to changed in way that those that use that don't have enough money to pay a regular premium will pay something according to their income. What I wanted to point out though are priorities as far tax dollars being spent. From the AJC article Gov. Nathan Deal said Thursday he had not yet reached a decision on Medicaid and noted that the November elections may change the landscape yet again. The governor and other elected officials have repeatedly expressed concerns
  11. The reservoir had been shelved before David took office, when the new commissioners came into office we were in crisis mode with 3 expensive projects 1/2 done just after we had obligated the county tax payers to the new courthouse,BoA building, and a huge influx of county workers to support the rapid growth of the county. This all in the year that our tax digest was falling like stone. The plan was taken back off the shelf for the studies to be completed a requirement of the federal government, this cost us quite a bit to finish the studies. As far as I know last I checked, we are still
  12. Even better than that if it stays rented by production companies every month for 20 years it has the potential to pump close a million dollars a month in to the local economy. That was the purpose of the studio, to pump more money into the local economy. The state of Georgia was giving tax incentives for the industry making it very attractive for them to shoot here in Georgia. They have been making a lot of movies in the state for a while. We saw the opportunity to get them in Paulding to do the studio work and spend those dollars here. There is also a lot of potential for our young peopl
  13. When you are ready for advice about a good time :ninja: :ninja:
  14. This is not a political issue and that is where the shame lies in the whole thing. It is like a war on the poor and extremely ill that they are a drain on the finances of our country because the price has been set beyond what many can pay. You are justifying not doing the right thing based on someones political view. If it were up to many based on politics and the bottom line people like you would be disposed of. Just because a certain political party seeks to solve a dilemma is not reason to stand against it. I don't consider myself democrat or Liberal, but the other party has made me
  15. What is not fair is that people are not allowed to contribute or pay. You understand that right? It is all or nothing. They have not been able to pay anything towards their health care, other than paying taxes whenever they worked,If they had some money to pay for insurance they were not allowed if they didn't have enough. So it ends up that others pay 100% of the bill. I am not sure if everyone really understands what has been going on for years when I hear some of the statements. Insurance and medicaid have artificially inflated the cost of pain and suffering so that the taxpayers are pay
  16. Does this not sound somewhat biblical to you? I suspect a lot of folks in this thread fundamentally understand right from wrong. Shame on you for putting politics before human lives and shame on everyone else that does it. It does not matter if you last name is Washington, Kennedy, Reagon, Obama or Pelosi. The Pain and suffering plan is the shame of the American people. We are babbling about what this one said and did while the most valuable resource on the planet is being rationed, with our blessing. Do you think someone rolling in there bed with agony, gives a rats--- What Pelosi or Reid
  17. Listen to the dialogue Disagree with you again. I like what Donald Trump had to say: "Let me get this straight . . .We're going to be "gifted" with a pain and suffering care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee wh...ose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which
  18. As far as I am concerned the GOP did get their way. Here is the dialogue. The American people- we don't want anyone to go without medical care, we don't want free healthcare, we want affordable health care and that is accomplished by everyone paying something. The politician- the only way we can make healthcare affordable is to remove the middleman, insurance companies even though we know they profit on pain and death we can't morally remove them because profit always trumps life in this country. We will make this profitable by charging people with the most money. The GOP got the
  19. I thought this thread was for discussing our reactions to what is happening. Nobody on here voted on this, I don't see how anyone here can be held personally responsible for the mess that health care is in. I try to vote at every opportunity. Attacking someone for how they feel about a piece of legislation they didn't personally vote, in other words make happen is ridiculous. Everyone that votes sooner or later disapproves of something the person they voted for does. I am not distressed over health care reform. I am distressed over how it is being done. Parts of this legislation are per
  20. The internet chatter is very interesting this morning. Republicans are claiming it is the end of the world as we know it and doctors are looking to bail out of medicine. But their is a very peaceful silence underlying all the of the fear. That would be hospitals and insurance companies. Where is the screaming and crying from them, my guess is there will be none. I somehow have a picture of them reverently opening a safe and pulling out the plan made some years ago of just how they are going to work this out. Kaiser is quite vocal as they have been practicing this business model for many
  21. I am not sure what it has to do with the weather but ours started doing this. You have a pressure regulator on your water pipe coming into the house. We ask around about it and were told that it would give us high water pressure, which I admit was nice in the shower. Nobody seemed to think it was much of a concern so we let it go for a year. I came home one day to a flooded basement, the small plastic parts in my ice maker could not hold up to the pressure. You may want to call Skyline plumbing their number is on the ad just under the clock on the side of the page.
  22. The me generation is finally in charge. And we see what a bang up job they are doing of ruining running our country.
  23. If this is it, I had hoped for better, I believe this will fail on our way to single payer system. The people that broke the medical system are going to get 2 more years to try and milk it for everything they can. I hope and pray that our devoted health care providers can hold on until then. Insurance companies did not create the practice of medicine, they don't deliver healthcare and they don't deserve to profit off of it. Your doctor can not charge you a reasonable cash fee for his services, because those that pay for insurance, insist on using it, even when it cost more out of pocket.
  24. We have never had a better opportunity to remove the middlemen from medicine almost entirely. It is unbelievable that it takes four to six individuals to take money from a patient and hand it to a doctor. It is ridiculous that 1000's of drug reps are making more money than doctors. I read an article this morning that this will be a good thing for GP's and save the government millions, most of the uninsured are using ER's now that they are insured they will go to regular doctors and many illnesses will be caught earlier. The story said it would work the opposite for specialist, they will
