  1. My buddies and I were in Daytona for 1991. But even my wildest days were very mild compared to the mainstream. I was a good boy. 1992 - South Padre Island, the future Mrs. JMT and I joined MF and EG in a condo down there. EG's parents were along with us, so it was all kosher. Good times, but Mrs. JMT and her friend EG decided to lay out and those girls got so badly sunburned... MF and I were buddies and we had decided to come inside that afternoon... we were fine, but they were ROASTED. Did anyone eat at the Magic Time Machine in San Antonio?
  2. Today is the last day to register to attend for free! If you are interested in growing your business outside Paulding county, this is a good opportunity. Hope some of you can join me. I have to be back in Paulding by 4pm, so I won't stay the whole day. But I do intend to make as many connections as possible!
  3. I just opened Chrome and Firefox and everything looks essentially the same to me, using the IP board style on both.
  4. We moved here 3 years ago, on purpose. We looked around and we loved Paulding, and we're not going anywhere.
  5. I sometimes wonder if we're going to have to move to Texas just to remain Americans.
  6. Really sorry to hear this. He was great!
  7. Not sure I'm available on April 10. And I really never considered the possibility of going onstage in a dress unless I had been cast as the lead (Albin/Zaza) in a production of La Cage aux Folles. Where is the money going?
  8. Obviously I'm not making light of it. My point is that the subdivision seems to be the site of a number of shooting incidents recently. I simply began my post by clarifying that I didn't want the idiom I used to be interpreted as minimizing the seriousness of the situation(s). Hope the injured party recovers fully...
  9. Good grief. I don't mean to make light of this at all, but it seems there is something in the water at Seven Hills lately...
  10. There isn't enough space on pcom for me to list the spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes that would irk me to no end if I allowed them to do so. I notice them, I cringe... then I try to move on with the day. I do wonder how some people ever graduated from high school, though. That is all.
  11. They had enough of a team to beat Ole Miss. MSU 41, Ole Miss 27 That is all.
  12. Saw The Blind Side on the flight back from Paris. (It was the first of 4 movies... long ride!) Sandra Bullock was awesome - she plays a good, strong Southern girl very well. Even though the whole freakin' movie was a love letter to Ole Miss (hhhhhoooooccccck - spit), I still enjoyed it. Coming from a Mississippi State fan and alum, that should tell you something.
  13. I was so worried that this was just a sappy fiction tearjerker. That it really (mostly) happened is a relief and makes it great. Thanks for sharing it!
  14. Our trek concludes this morning - we are at the airport in Vienna, bags already checked to ATL, waiting for our flight to Paris. It was unforgettable and I do think it will result in a number of additional European appearances. Thank you for your prayers - we are anxious to get back to Paulding county! Mrs. JMT and I visited Cafe Centrale yesterday and I had a lucky moment... More pics to come...
  15. Tomorrow - off to the Danube River, hopefully lunch on the Danube Tower with a great view of the city! Wish I could get my Blackberry on the wifi at the hotel, but the browser just doesn't want to connect properly. Thanks, Pat, for updating the IP blocking so I could upload pics, etc. from the trip!
  16. I hide all games and jewels and mafia and farm stuff.
  17. Facebook has been a great tool for reconnecting with old friends, meeting new people, and even doing business. You do not get a notice if you are unfriended or unfanned, but you can see it in the total friend or fan counts. Don't assume the worst if someone disconnects -- it's only a web site and it may not mean there is a deep personality or relationship issue. Sometimes it's accidental, and sometimes people just cull their online connections to people they are interacting with on a personal, daily basis. Nobody can keep up with everybody. Remember: - Just because someone poste
  18. Thanks LPPT for posting! Pat has enabled the IP address of this hotel to let me get through. Today was good - worship service, orientation, etc. Conference starts tomorrow. I just helped a missionary family from Macedonia figure out a question about the math education of their gifted daughter - so even if the shows don't go well, at least I've made a contribution. Hope to do some sightseeing during downtime. I'm blogging and putting up pics and video on my FB page. Later!
  19. I saw these bags in person on Wednesday -- I'm in for one of the small ones! My wife will love it!
  20. There's nothing wrong with your understanding of the party, NJ. I'm not sure what you would have wanted the party to do in this case though - they ultimately cannot stop anyone from getting on the ballot in an election if they want to. I guess they could have refused to let a candidate affiliate with the party at all if they were aware of the situation, but that seems heavy-handed in an open situation where there is no endorsement. Ah well! I'd just as soon see this discussion move to the next election.
  21. Anyone who disagrees with the President's approach is merely "complaining about Obama" in the view of the left. Despite claims to be famously open-minded, they consistently refuse to see the alternate point of view, preferring to categorize all opposition as obstruction rather than as a desire to progress TOWARD A DIFFERENT TARGET that addresses the issue differently. There are mutually exclusive principles in play. Again -- the democrats and the President want compromise to be an issue of "how far" we should go down the path they have chosen, rather than actually discussing "which way"
