  1. I haven't been to a Mellow Mushroom. What's FUN about it?
  2. If you buy from an individual you will not pay SALES tax. If you buy from a dealer you will pay SALES tax. When you register your vehicle you will pay PROPERTY tax which would be the case whether you buy from a dealer or individual.

  4. Congrats to you! Do the phone sales people actually work for Sam's? I always had the feeling they worked as independent contractors for some reason.
  5. I love buying and selling on Craigslist. Do research on CL for similar scooters and check EBay for "completed" sales to help you get an idea what to ask. Unsolicited advice: When you post it on CL use photos and choose to anonymize your email address. It is likely the first one or two emails you get will be scams that are asking for your phone number or don't quite make sense (ignore those). When someone is truly interested they'll have legitimate questions and probably offer their phone number for you to call. For safety reasons, have someone else at home with you when someone com
  6. I cut our local phone service down to a different plan with fewer features. Saving about $15/month. I am cooking more meals at home which is less expensive and healthier than eating out. We've been selling some unused items on Craigslist. Had hubby increase his exemptions by one so take-home pay went up a little (about $500/year). We always get a refund and still will. We might bump it up one more.
  7. Look on your credit union/bank website or call them about an AutoCheck or CarFax report. Our credit union will run an AutoCheck report for us for $10 which is a lot less than we could get it online ourselves. Perhaps your bank/CU does the same.
  8. How long did it take to realize what it was? How did it start for you and yours? I have a son who woke up yesterday afternoon with a splitting headache which was relieved with ibuprofen. This morning he felt fine and then a few hours ago he had the bad headache again (took ibuprofen and has now gone outside so got some relief).
  9. GREEN PEANUTS. It is so hard to find green peanuts that I can cook at home. Kroger had some this week that were good but is a hit or miss with them. WATERMELONS. Always happy to find locally grown watermelons. I'd like to have some variety like Black Diamonds instead of the plain old green striped ones you find in the grocery store. TOMATOES. Oh, the thought of a tomato sandwich with vine-ripened tomatoes, white bread, mayo, salt, and pepper!
  10. I look forward to voting out most, if not all, of the current Board members. I will not, however, be jumping on the bandwagon of the watchdog group. It has been alleged that they have a progressive agenda of their own and I'll be doing more research before casting my vote.
  11. Does she trust that the "father" will provide a real sample and not that of someone else? Since they will be in different places when collecting the sample the girl will have no way of knowing whether he submitted his own sample.
  12. I just meant that it reads as an incomplete sentence, in my view, and I can't figure out what you are trying to say. "While most folks dwell on the words of Biblical scholars predicting the 'end of the world' most folks in the south are dismissive of the idea that mankind, through the wonder of the most pressing issues that might address."
  13. I don't understand your statement above in bold. Did you leave something out?
  14. We need a description...what did she look like, age, hair color, size, etc.? Want to be on the look out since I am in that Wal-Mart at least 3 times a week. By the way, I really like that Wal-Mart and have never had a problem with other shoppers or employees. The most aggravating thing that happens sometimes is people pushing past me to get to something on a shelf where I am standing rather than waiting a minute for me to finish. If someone is shopping where I want to shop I walk around the next aisle or two and give them a minute to finish then go back.

  16. I just checked www.gasbuddy.com and saw that the Kroger was listed as $3.46 per gallon 5 hours ago. Has anyone been there recently? Is it still that price? If not, what is it? Murphy Gas (Wal-Mart) on Marietta Hwy. was $3.55 when I went by this afternoon. If Kroger is $3.46 I'll make the drive there instead. It's just a little bit further for me.
  17. Any update? Anyone who witnessed her driving file a complaint online with Cobb?
  18. I would offer to your daughter that if she and her step-sister want to spend time together you will welcome the step-sister at your house and include her in outings when possible. Perhaps when you can talk to the step-mom you can suggest that you both work to let the girls remain friends/sisters and work to keep them out of the grown-up disagreements.
  19. We have a UVerse bundled package which include UVerse200 tv and InternetMax. I just tested the internet speed and it showed 11.35 kbps. We pay $45/mo for the internet portion. We've had UVerse service since May 2008. http://reviews.cnet.com/internet-speed-test/
  20. I think it is now $7 per box but I'm not sure since my bill shows $0 on those lines. I'm looking at the monthly bill now: UVERSE200 = $69 INTERNET MAX= $55 LESS $10 BUNDLE DISCOUNT GEORGIA LOCAL VIDEO FRANCHISE FEE = $3.89 GEORGIA LOCAL VIDEO FACILITIES FEE = $ .25 STATE SALES TAX = $ .42 COUNTY SALES TAX = $ .21 The charges above are calculated on the $69 + $45 AND a one-time movie rental fee of $5 for a movie the kids watched. What kind of prices are you looking at? I'm curious about the prices people are paying for other company's service, too, if anyone would lik
  21. We've had UVerse for several years. I like it ok because of the DVR and whole house viewing. It's not problem free though. Our first big issue was that ATT charges a set-top fee (per box). The paperwork we signed from a door-to-door salesman stated that up to 4 set top boxes were included in the price. It took almost a year of calls and then writing letters to the president of the company before I found a person who would and could help. She agreed and set it up so that we won't be charged those fees until 2093!! But, that was a real pain in the you-know-what to get done because th
  22. Yawn...as a possible character witness...Walker never worked for Perdue.
  23. I know nothing of the plans for that store but thought I'd add my two cents about Wal-Mart. I rarely shop at the Hiram Wal-Mart because of the distance. I dislike the parking lot and difficulty in getting into and out of the lot but the store and employees seem ok (at least in the day time). However, I ALWAYS shop at the Marietta Hwy. Wal-Mart in Dallas (I call it Dallas Highway but I guess it changes at the county line). I LOVE my Wal-Mart. I am in there 2-3 times per week and know several of the employees by name and they know me and the kids. I should really go work there...I know
  24. A few ideas: Using the large paper that comes on a roll make a Broadway theater marquee sign. Use white paper circles for the lights in a border around the edge. Write whatever message goes with your theme and hang it high. Set up some park benches with large potted plants on either side. If possible hang "brick" paper behind it. Using that large paper that comes on a roll against a wall, use other paper to make a city skyline. Cut out varying heights of buildings with white squares for windows for some and darker squares for others. If possible, make a bridge on it, too.
