  1. We like Jacket Dogs at Fred's BBQ on Thornton Road. Of course we also like the Varsity chili slaw hotdogs which the Jacket Dog is the closest thing to it.
  2. DD and DGD's love taco soup but eat it more in the winter/cold weather. Of course it is a basic easy recipe (nothing like yours Surepip) if it is something prepared by DD. LOL. Mother's Day was wonderful for me today. Grilled medium rare steak, baked potatoes with butter, sour cream and cheese and, baked cabbage topped off with strawberry shortcake. (Again it is a basic meal when prepared by DD). Although the meal was delish it was the quality family time of hanging out, Alabama corn hole, and visiting with the family and furbabies that made this special. I also got a phone call f
  3. I agree with you LPPT. As a Social Worker I saw this in many, many children as they reached their teen/young adult years. It is sad that too many times the "red flags" are observed too late or acknowledged after the fact. So many don't realize they ARE red flags at the time because they don't know exactly what they are seeing or what to look for. Another issue I have observed with this type situation is the "I'm your friend" rather than parent. There is a lot of confusion if and when the parent initiates some rules and guidelines in the home the "child" doesn't know how to respond.
  4. THANK YOU!!! I had a TIA and am thankful it wasn't another stroke. It is good to be home and able to chat with friends. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
  5. THANK YOU! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the Mothers, Mothers To Be, Mothers to furry babies. Grandmothers and all who are "Mothers" to nieces, nephews, neighbor children, foster children or loves or cares for a child/ren in any other capacity. You don't have to give birth to a child to love and care for it as your own. F I will talk to DS tomorrow as he is in Hollywood, FL in RCI rehearsals. And I will enjoy grilling out with DH, DD and DGD's tomorrow evening. I am Blessed!!
  6. I know this thread started on May 8th but I was in Kennestone hospital and not online to see it. I didn't eat any "real food" that night since I sent all the hospital trays back. My dinner was possibly graham crackers and PB or possibly the cheese cube with saltine crackers and grapes snack. So, I will answer tonight. A sweet older neighbor cooked dinner for us: fried pork chops, mashed taters, fresh corn on the cob and cornbread. She is one of those really good old Southern cooks. YUMMMMM. A piece of Key Lime pie from Williamson Bros BBQ for dessert.
  7. Watch it EVERY DAY. Yes I am an ID ADDICT and DH has told everyone repeatedly that IF anything ever happens to him to look at me. Because I will have learned how to do away with him. LOL. You are right about the Grandkids and I wouldn't be surprised at anyone who surfaces as a suspect. And, I would bet this story will be on ID at some point. I've seen several episodes from Georgia (one in College Park I had never heard of) and Alabama that I was familiar with. This is such a SAD, SAD case. No need to be so evil and decapitate the husband. I cannot imagine being a loved one and knowing
  8. Do you still email the weekly menu? I used to get it every Monday and then I would forward it to friends in Acworh and we'd make plans to go for lunch. But, I haven't gotten it for several weeks.
  9. I haven't seen anything but "NOT KRISPY KREME" on the sign. A friend stopped and talked to the owner one day a week or so ago she he was here. She was told it is going to be a Buy Here Pay Here car dealership and he has 3 or 4 other dealerships already, I believe the closest one to us now is Rome. He gave her his conact info bc she is looking for a job and she has experience working at those type dealerships.
  10. When the original plan for the 3 bldgs were posted on here it stated there would be a Dentist, Vision works and Krispy Kreme. But, in passing them there doesn't appear to be a drive thru on either of the end buildings.
  11. Years ago I bought a ton of Budweiser Dale, Jr merchandise from a Budweiser employee. It was the first year Junior drove for Bud. All this stuff the man had gotten as promos from work so he had nothing in it and sold it cheap. I sold the larger pieces on CL making a nice profit. But, I met all the buyers in a public parking lot in Marietta. My personnal info was not in any of the ads. That was my only experience with CL but it was a good one.
  12. We were cheering for California Chrome (although his Derby blanket was misspelled) and happy to see him win. He has a beautiful stride! Purchased for ONLY $8K as a stud he =beat horses valued at millions. CC has won his last 4 races and after the 2nd win his owners were offered $10M for 51% ownership. They turned it down. Imagine how much CC is worth NOW!?!?!? I would LOVE to see him win the Triple Crown. What a Cinderella Story that would be. He is the only California bred horse to ever win the Derby.
  13. THANK YOU, Darlin'. I am much better and getting better every day. Thankful and Blessed.
  14. When I was a Legal Assistant for a personal injury attorney we dealt with that with medical providers, too. So did I. A phone call will be made to the Monday.
  15. I am confused. Why would the 2nd trip be written off? It was 3 days later and a different provider. Medicare paid on both of them and actually paid more on the 2nd bill than the initial one.
  16. I just posted a thread about the differences in my two ambulance bills. When I click on "my content" I see it. When I look at "Recent Topics" it is not in the list. Do you see it?
  17. When I had another stroke in January I was transported from Kennestone to rehab on Jan. 24, 2014 by Metro. On Jan. 27, 2014 I was transported back to Kennestone from rehab. Same location to location just in reverse. Same patient. No treatment. Non-emergency transport. The only difference was the cost charged. I thought some of you might find this interesting as I did. FYI: Metro: Non-Emergency Rate $750 Adjustment $530.47 Amount $219.53 Mileage 12 Miles $121.20 Adjustment $ 48.88 Amount $72.32 After Medicare Payments Patient Billed
  18. We went to Rodney's for ribeye steak. It's been a busy day and neither of us were up to cooking. I ate frog legs a lot when growing up. Begged my Daddy to let me go with him and he gave in one night. That is ALL it took. All those snakes swimming on top of the lake and around the boat scared that little girl to death! I never asked to go again. But, I loved the fresh frog legs and it was fun to watch them jump out of the pan.
  19. Our neighbor went three times last week. She was vomiting constantl. First time was morning and after waiting about an hour and having 8 people come in after she arrived and called back while she still sat there she left. That evening she called 911 and went back by ambulance. She was given zofran and reglan. (sp?) She would feel better and every time she stood up to come home she would be sick again. The doctor wanted to admit her but said all the beds were full and he had no where to put her. He could send her to Cobb or Kennestone but she chose to come home. She was back the next morning.
  20. Mrs. G..........HOW could you forget Krispy Kreme????? J/K
  21. I can ONLY imagine how thrilled Miss. Daisy is over the hairless new family member. Oh Lawd! And Sir Guinness??? Bless them!!! I can imagine their displeasure is shadowed in comparison by the HAPPINESS of Mr. and Mrs. Surepip. ENJOY having them home safe and sound. Tell Louise I am happy there is a happy ending and she is safe and comfortable at HOME.
  22. We were at the Downtown Dallas Yard Sale ALL day yesterday 6:30-3:00. Due to anti-rejection drugs for my transplant I cannot be in the sun AT ALL and was under the tent the entire time. But, our 12 year old neighbor who was with us selling some of her things was out in the sun. Her lily white arms/shoulders are BURNT! Her shoulders have little water blisters on them. It was't all that terribly hot with a nice breeze much of the time. It was a BEAUTIFUL Day!!!!
  23. That IS scary! I am sure Louise was outta her mind as y'all were. I hope SIL's famiy bought out his part of the busiess as it is obvious he will not be returning to work it to get his inheritance That would help them get back on their feet here. When did Omar get his US Citizanship? Doesn't sound like it helped a whole lot during that horrible experience. Hope they will be home soon. I know those wlll some of the BEST hugs ever!!!!
