Homeschool. I'd be happy to go into why, if you ask, but since you didn't, I won't.

Very, very sad. This was a very good kid from a very nice family. He and his family is in our prayers.

You have to do what is right for you, but my personal opinion is that the medical industry is far too out of control pumping us with all kinds of unnatural substances, and yet we are one of the unhealthiest countries in the world. My oldest child is the only one fully immunized, because he was my first and I didn't know I had a choice to educate myself and make those decisions. I choose to not vaccinate my other children after researching the questionable results and possible side effects of various vaccinations. In addition, many vacinations are created in manners which go against my moral

There are lots of good church sales over the summer. St. Vincent DePaul always had a good one with LOTS of baby stuff. I am not 100% they still have it as I am out of town now and they have their own consignment shop now - which I would check out either way. There was another really good one I used to go to, but I can't remember the name or the road - somewhere off of Ridge - Mulberry Store something rd? Congratulations and keep us posted!

That is so very cool, you should be very proud of him. 15" is quite an accomplishment! My son grew his out at that age for the purpose of donating it and by the time it got long enough he was itching to get rid of it. He made it to the minimum requirement, and keeps it very short now. Do make sure they send your son a certificate, mine was very excited to get his.

You should have told her you were going to sic Ms. Nellie on her, Ms. Nellie would straighten her crazy out of her but quick! -
One of our close friends here just returned from a solo trip there. They LOVED it. They stayed in a treehouse, rode elephants, hiked the rainforest. I could get more specific info if you wanted.

But your response was completely off topic and out of left field - we were talking about kids hanging out at our houses. All she said was that she had a pool, and you go off on prayer threads over someone drowning as if it were destined to happen. What in the world would make you insult her by assuming she was irresponsible of unaware of the danger?

Wow. You either have reading compehension issues, or you think you are moe clever than you are at trying to twist peoples words. Do you seiously not get that you are accusing people of saying the opposite of what they are? I did not call these girls "pieces of meat", I said they should not treat themselves AS IF THEY ARE. Those of us wanting them to cover themselves a little more are saying that they are MORE VALUBLE than the way they are presenting themselves. We are against them DEVALUING themselves! No one is objectifying them, but them! And then, of couse, you go back over the ba -

Again, as to the words in red, you have NO BASIS to say that she DIDN'T do this! She is not the one objectifying these young girls, her issue is the girls offering themselves up AS objects, when their parents ought to be teaching them to value themselves more. The OP is in FAVOR of these girls valuing THEMSELVES - one more time, she is trying to get them to display the human VALUE she already places on them, not DEVALUE themselves. As far as what she's posted, he sons have NOT behaved improperly, have NOT made rude comments, have NOT gawked, whistled, or even spoken to these girls - you -
Yeah, I get that part, too. You have to wonder why the other parents AREN'T concerned with all of the above.

Seriously, Debbie Downer? How did you even jump to these assumptions? You hate kids in pools enough to come completely out of left field, off topic, and insult someone's intelligence about it? Do you think no one should have pools? Or just not enjoy them? Or maybe not let anyone else enjoy them? Or maybe just not have your kids enjoy them? Or maybe just not have kids, that would DEFINITELY cut down on the chances of an accident..... Statisticly, most child drownings (accidental) happen in those big neighbohood pools as opposed to "personal pools". Most "personal pool" owners are resp

I love being the hangout house. I know exactly where my kids are, what they are doing, and with whom. I get to see first hand who and what my kids are being exposed to, and how they handle it. If the kids are thirsty, tell them all you have is water. If they are hungry, it is time to go home. I also do as said above and buy those cheap flavor icicle thingies, though.

Betcha we all wake up to at least one "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT???!!!" thread anyway.....

'Genderless' Child Ignites Firestorm in Canada

I think it's sad. No, you can't force girls to do 'girl things' and boys to do 'boy things', yes boys and girls do, as groups, have very different styles of doing things, and yes, there are always exceptions that run all up and down the spectrum - but while acknowledgement and embracement of these things is GOOD, this is not what we are talking about with these parents! They *claim* to be doing this to allow the children to discover who they really are. They have already started with watered down versions of thier little social experiment on their older two. Well guess what? The oldest -

And what makes you think the OP HASN'T taught her sons that? I haven't seen a single thing suggesting these girls have been "objectified" by the OP's boys. To the contrary, the complaint was about the girls offering themselves up as objects. If she has taught her sons, doesn't mean she can't wish it wasn't slung in thier face everyday. The only request made was that someone who knows these people might want to suggest the girls cover up while in the public eye. I personally think this is in the best intrest of the girls much more so than the OP's boys. -

YAY! Someone with sense. I find the number of people who find young girls hanging their stuff all out to get attention healthy and acceptable fascinating! And not in a good way. Appaling might be a better word. What happened to teaching girls to value themselves as more than pieces of meat? When that "child" is developed enough to be hanging out of her bikini top, the rules change. That's common sense. Add to that, the OP said the girl SEEMED to range in age from 12 to 16. She's not out their with a sign around her neck that says "I'm 12, don't look at me. She IS out there, -

Oh no! Haven't you heard? It's the Jesus Freaks and their insistence on teaching abstinence that is the problem with so many teenagers getting pregnant. Teaching your girls to dress themselves like they have an ounce of respect has nothing to do with it. After all, they are JUST looking for attention, and that's surely OK, right? I mean teens will be teens, and parents don't have any say about how they behave, or treat their bodies, or each other after all. Surely you understand that this is just a bunch of young girls looking for whoever happens by to judge them by how much skin they sho -

I am sure they do, but that's not where I am - Abu Dhabi. Sorry for the confusion. Nothing happened in NZ before that either, nor since! Ahhhhh.....but I covered that. I have lil' guys. Lil' guys get raptured no matter how naughty they are. LOL They were so disappointed, now they have school tomorrow. LOL -
For those of you not paying attention, I am about 8 hours ahead of y'all now. The impending "rapture" was supposed to begin around New Zeland at about 6 PM and follow the sun. Earth quakes, lightening, thunder, tidal waves and the like. Well, it's 6:24 PM here now. I spent a relaxing day in my jammies. We just had Subway and I am about to go open a bottle of Sangria - no rumbling, shaking or disturbances of any kind. I certainly would not object to going to spend eternity with my Lord and Savior, but it ain't going to be today.

I like an upside girl! Good for you! I am a big girl. If my plane ever goes down over the ocean, tell them to look for me with about 10 of those skinny b*itches hanging on to me for their lives. I am naturally boyant and completely incapable of sinking due to my God-given buoys.
