  1. What a horrible, scary thing that is. I am glad they are OK, I will say a prayer for them.
  2. They are not ALONE alone, it's not like you just take them to security and point them in the right direction. Kids from 5 to 12 can fly "alone" if you pay an extra fee for them to be supervised by a flight attendant during the flight and exiting the flight (you bring them to the gate). The escort keeps control of the minor until they are signed for and turned over to the person they are supposed to be. Minors this age can fly without the escort being paid for if they are escorted by a sibling age 12 or older.
  3. I don't think you're being mean at all, if I am reading this all right, he is perfectly happy with your choices for him (or lack thereof). It does remind me of a discipline issue we had with my son. He decided to be spoiled and snotty (not that I think your son is, I see there is a much different issue there), so when he got home from school we told him he had been striped of all privileges and no longer owned anything but the clothes on his back. He was presented with an "inventory" of his stuff and activities which he had to earn back with good notes from school and chores at home. U
  4. Dang it, I just spit stuff on my screen again.....ROFLMBO
  5. This is EXACTLY what I thought....but yet, there it was. All I could assume was that no one caught it for the same reason this thread is so hot - who woulda thunk gangs in Paulding County? This was a few years ago, I guess they just weren't looking for it.
  6. A few years ago, before I started homeschooling, my son came home with his Elementary School yearbook. There were several pictures of kids this young that were flashing gang signs. They don't all get it off TV, gangs are more prevalent than you would think.
  7. I don't watch their show. You don't have to to know who they are, they're everywhere.
  8. I'm sorry you're not buying it, but it doesn't make it any less of the truth....there are many, many people who have this many kids and more who do not go one TV and do not receive government assistance. You can feed and clothe them just fine if you learn how to shop consignment and discount stores, don't think kids sharing a room constitutes child abuse, and spend more time in the kitchen than in the restaurants.
  9. Again with the welfare!!!!! The choices for large families are not limited to TV shows or welfare!!! Kate is NOT keeping her family off of welfare by continuing to force the show and going on book tours. She and Jon could have normal jobs and their family would be just fine - and probably not falling apart. There are HUNDREDS of families with this many kids and more who manage to live on ONE income that has nothing to do with show business. I'm sorry, but the idea that they would be on welfare if she was not trooping all over the country is ridiculous. She needs to go back home, kick the
  10. Does anyone have suggestions for a good place to consign children's clothes nearby?
  11. Why do you keep talking about welfare? She has to work the schedule she works and they have to do the show or be on welfare? Those are the only two choices? That's silly, there's plenty in between. I think they need to quit the TV show, quit the publicity circuit, downsize all their crap and use the money they have made to get some family counseling. There is no reason they can't support that family with normal jobs out of the pressure of the public eye. If they truly want to make this "about the kids" they need to grow up and realize the kids need more than what all that money can provi
  12. Do homeschool teachers count? We don't get paid nuffin....
  13. How awful this all is. Prayers for this very large family, how heartbroken they all must be. Does anyone know if his father has made it in from Iraq yet?
