  1. Looks like it did as I saw your photos of items for sale in the other thread.
  2. So you tried on the Pink Dress just for the experience? I noticed your post in the thread another member started about looking for a Wedding Dress. Did you try on any of those?
  3. Have you checked eBay? Looking there might give you some ideas I searched for Lace Tea Length Dress and vintage and new items come up. A lot of the new ones are shipped from China. (Has anyone had any experience with those? I think they must be shipped direct from the factory.) Tea Length Dresses
  4. Like as a dress made in lace with a matching solid lining? Have you set a date? (I was wondering how long you have to find what you like.) Also, do you want white, cream or ...?
  5. I started the year out that way (flea products put away on the shelf) but then they (the fleas) showed up. This year is the worse I've seen in many---maybe 15 or so years. It's good when they aren't around but for anyone who doesn't have them know that THEY are out there. And someday you may be called on to fight the good fight and join the FFF (Flea Fighters Force).
  6. Short answer is No. It doesn't take long for dogs to pick up fleas if they are present in the environment---which can depend on various factors. Are there other dogs close by or outside or stray cats? We have a lot of dogs in our neighborhood and there is a sidewalk in front of our house that a lot of people use to walk their dogs regularly.
  7. Here's a link with details about flea eggs and their role in the flea cycle: Natural Ways to Kill Flea Eggs Vacuuming - studies have shown that vacuuming can remove up to 90% of the eggs in carpet, in addition to getting rid of much of the larvae and larva food. Vacuuming should be a part of any flea control measure, so long as you remember to dispose of the bag afterwards. Otherwise, the fleas will just continue to live within the vacuum bag. Flea Comb - a flea comb can be used as another natural way to remove flea eggs. The eggs will get caught in the teeth of the comb. This, com
  8. This video reminded me of this thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-9OFIAXNMY&feature=player_embedded#at=77
  9. I like using non-chemical type products when possible so I'm glad to have the Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth to use. It does work but this year it's been more difficult getting the fleas eliminated.
  10. I went to your profile and clicked "Topics" and saw this thread and the other one. Here is the link: http://paulding.com/forum/index.php/topic/303043-estate-sale/page__p__3823972#entry3823972
  11. I'm interested in what I view as health that supports the whole person. The following is from a thread I started on p.com last year. I haven't clicked on the link to see if is still current but you might find some members and other resources at http://www.meetup.com/ that could provide support and/or suggestions, etc..
  12. Amazon has several different sizes. References stress buying the Food Grade: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=a9_sc_1?rh=i%3Alawngarden%2Ck%3Afood+grade+diatomaceous+earth&keywords=food+grade+diatomaceous+earth&ie=UTF8&qid=1374621390
  13. Here's a recipe for homemade lemon spray. The site says lemons are suppose to repel fleas. Anyway it might be refreshing and/or soothing on a warm summer day: Recipe The main ingredients for a homemade lemon flea spray are lemons and water. Make the spray by halving six lemons, then boiling them in a quart of water for 5 minutes. Steeping the lemons in the water with a lid on the pan overnight allows the lemons' oils and juices to blend well with the water. Pour the liquid into a clean spray bottle that hasn't been used for harsh chemicals. The lemon water will keep at least a week if sto
  14. Has he ever caught a vole? When we lived in Douglasville some voles ate some of my hostas. The voles were like hosta devouring land piranhas---awful.
  15. The thread is still on the board. It's just on page three and is closed. It's about Blue Collar work, etc. http://paulding.com/forum/index.php/topic/302711-blue-collar-mentality/page__pid__3820107__st__80#entry3820107
  16. On some TV shows they mention to guests that there are swimming suits in the pool house that they can wear. Have any of you worn someone else's swim suit? I never have.
  17. This explains how it works and says it need to be kept dry: Diatomaceous Earth (food grade): bug killer you can eat! Diatomaceous Earth (often referred to as "DE") is an off white talc-like powder that is the fossilized remains of marine phytoplankton. When sprinkled on a bug that has an exoskeleton (such as bed bugs, ants or fleas) it compromises their waxy coating so that their innards turn into teeny tiny bug jerky. But it doesn't hurt mammals. We can eat it. We do eat it! It's in lots of grain based foods because lots of grains are stored with diatomaceous earth to keep the bugs fr
  18. Google and you will find a lot of info. Here's how one person describes using it. I just put it on my dogs, their beds and inside the dog house:
  19. Who comes to the Wednesday evening meetings? Is it just for folks who struggle with drugs, alcohol, prescription drugs, etc.? Does it use 12 steps or something else? Is how the program works included in the book, After the Storm By Ann Pennebaker? Is the book available in printed form or only as an e book?
  20. What is available for friends and family? I noticed you mentioned therapeutic healing.
  21. This year I have seen more fleas on my 3 dogs than in the last 10 or 12 years. Is anyone else seeing more? Has anyone been able to eliminate them completely? I comb and brush them everyday and see some. I've used Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth for a few years. When I first started using it it was like a miracle: a natural product that worked so well! The first year I used it a couple of times and I didn't even see another flea all year.
  22. I noticed that You Tube has the complete Audiobook, "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" by Dale Carnegie posted to listen to for free. I listened to the first part where he started out living with cockroaches. There are some other audiobooks available, too, that you can listen to for free. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWJKfEWWOvc
  23. That's a funny video. Are they made the same way with some type of animal fat? t
  24. Nice family. I wish I could pet the little ones. I know they are wild though.
