  1. When I was growing up we were taught the value of telling the truth. I had never been around someone that didn't. I don't know of anyone who can stop another person from lying, deceiving, etc. I do take steps when possible to avoid people that I believe may be lying.
  2. On the Psychology Today website it states: "Studies show that the average person lies several times a day." I place a high value on the truth. It's horrible to be deceived.
  3. Is it just me or does anyone else feel that it is important to tell the truth? "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive." Walter Scott's poem Marmion

  5. Thanks to all for your input. I've had kidney disease-damage since I was 15, with damage increasing more rapidly in the last several years. My doctor says reducing stress could help. No worry. No hijack, just the flow of the conversation.
  6. We've paid Cobra two different times. I've talked to 2 attorneys. One I know I won't use. I have in mind a couple of others, but I thought I would ask this question here first. But I won't be posting any more legal details.
  7. It's nice you all got to enjoy one another. Is it ok to ask if she lives a long way off?
  8. If you are in an abusive relationship or know someone who is some of the facts are sobering. Also, if I had a daughter I would educate her regarding the signs and the need to get out of threatening situations. http://www.domesticabuseshelter.org/InfoDomesticViolence.htm
  9. I believe some lawyers may say that the spouse that left abandoned the other one. I've seen Cobra coverage mentioned in cases of divorce. I was wondering about changes that might come about in January 2014.
  10. Yes, I had planned on staying with my Mom in another state---at least for a while to have emotional support from family and friends and help sort out my options. My niece is living with my Mom. I thought she was moving but she hasn't yet. I don't want to post too much about where I am living now and future plans for various reasons. This thread was to ask about getting a divorce and specifically health insurance coverage when getting a divorce.
  11. Just because a marriage ends you seem to overlook that often women stay in their homes and the husband is the one who leaves.
  12. Some men (and of course women, too) choose to break their marriage vows and reject the idea of being a godly husband.
  13. When I got married I knew nothing about abuse that starts out as sudden severe angry emotional outbursts, and Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde behavior. I do now. Gog8tors, temporary sanctuary may be needed for some depending on the situation but I want permanent change. Please remember just because most women don't speak out doesn't mean it isn't happening on a widespread level. Do some research and prepare to be shocked.
  14. One thing I wondered was about the changes in health care insurance for January 2014.
  15. This was the beginning of Zelda, the bulldog: At the age of 52, Carol Gardner was facing a divorce that left her with a huge debt, no job, no income, and depressed. Her divorce attorney gave her some advice: “Get a therapist, or get a dog.” Gardner chose the latter and bought a four-month-old English bulldog she named Zelda. They were both underdogs looking for a big dose of unconditional love. A friend who knew of Carol’s financial plight told her about an annual Christmas card contest that a local pet store was sponsoring. The winner would receive forty pounds of free dog food ev
  16. Pubby, how much do one the the derelicts like featured in the vdeo sell for? I would imagaine though that they would maintain good resale vaule?

  18. Sometime inside of me hopes at the end of his life they get to be the turtle.
  19. If you would like to make one or more Christian friends locally please join. It is not limited to our areas so if you know someone in another state or ever a foreign country tell them about it if they could benefit. Also it could be a way to make a friend when planning on moving to another area---before you move.
  20. I'm not sure why the classes aren't more widely available.
  21. I may be getting a divorce---not sure how soon. How long does it take to get a divorce in Georgia? In the changes planned for health insurance for 2014 what is expected to change? What will costs be like? I've never gotten divorced before what do I need to be aware of? Are there any books that would be helpful?
  22. I think they had them, too that were vanilla on one side and chocolate on the other side. Do they still have those anywhere?
