  1. Thanks for the suggestions. I'm feeling a little nostalgic. Anyone know where there's a working time machine I could use?
  2. What are some places that seve small soft serve ice cream corns? It was a treat for me as a child. When I was four my dad and I would sit in the car when my Mom when to her doctor's appointment when she was pregnant with my sister. A nickel would by a soft serve vanilla ice cream cone. It was summer and we had a good time. I'd like to buy one.
  3. There is a high level of abuse of various types: verbal, emotional, physical (violence and sexual) being reported in teen age relationships. Have any of you witnessed this type thing? Do you talk to you kids about abuse; what it is, signs to look for, what to avoid, etc.?
  4. One of his books is Broken Children, Grown-Up Pain (Revised): Understanding the Effects of Your Wounded Past. I've watched several of his videos and feel what he says offers a lot insight into the root of many problems. If anyone else is interested in this sort of thing I'd like to hear from you. You can send me a pm.
  5. In Belgium The Belgian Parliament is about to enact a law that would allow children to decide for themselves whether they consent to being euthanized by doctors. The same law would also target Alzheimer's patients with euthanasia. Here are the details: http://www.naturalnews.com/040744_euthanasia_children_mercy_killings.html
  6. If you google Paul Hegstrom you will find many videos on the techniques he uses that help heal childhood wounds and allow the adult to develop healthier ways of dealing with life issues. He's also written 2 books. The main website has DVDs and CDs on related subjects too.
  7. ' I've heard of that. Who does that?
  8. Just a general question and not necessarily specific to these individuals but where does their money come from for drugs and day to day expenses?
  9. Thanks. I checked. It's app. 56 miles. For me closer is better. I have chronic pain and other health issues including lasting issues with my right hand which was broken in a head on collision auto accident when I first moved to Paulding. (App. twenty-five year old guy speeding crossed over into my lane and totaled my car, etc. I had trouble getting his insurance company just to pay my basic medical bills, but that's another story.) But as I said they don't list any classes starting in the future. If anyone is interested in that location they could phone. I plan on contacting the national o
  10. Is that website free to look up past arrests? I put in someone's name that I know was arrested before and it came up with a list---apparently some were other people with the same name. Some had an "exclamation point" what does that mean? (It said I had to register to view the results.)
  11. Thanks. I did see that when I was searching online. They don't show any classes starting at a future date though. Also, when I clicked for directions it went back to a regular web page. I was looking for classes in our area. How far is this? Peachtree Corners Life Skills 3883 Rogers Bridge Road Suite 701 Duluth, GA 30097 info@peachtreecornerslifeskills.org Tel: 678-906-4090
  12. Were the photos from work they did as models?
  13. I would like to see these classes offered in our area.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otFTL14HsQU Has anyone heard of these classes? They are based on research by Dr. Paul Hegstrom. I saw this link for Life Skills of Alabama: What is Life Skills? Have you ever heard someone say, "I'm smiling on the outside, but crying on the inside"? No matter where we go or what we do, we run into people day after day who are hurting on the inside. Some wear their masks more successfully than others. Very few know how to break free from the negative patterns and behaviors in their lives. They look for answers in money, power, sex, and addict
  15. Did you see the guards they sell separately? Thankfully I haven't needed them. The nectar guard tips easily slide on to the feeding port on the underside of the feeder cover. Then flexible membrane in the center of each tip easily opens when hummingbirds insert their beaks to feed and close up tight when beaks are removed. The tips create a barrier flying insects can't penetrate. It includes 12 tips per pack. For use with hummzinger ultra and fancy hummingbird feeders. http://www.amazon.com/Aspects-384-Nectar-Guard-Tips/dp/B0029DN5GW/ref=pd_sim_lg_1
  16. I bought this saucer style Hummingbird feed last year when the Bird Store in Hiram was going out of business. I just keep using my old feeder until this spring when I took the new one out of the box. I like that the top comes off for easy and through cleaning. It has a built in ant moat, too and is made in the USA. The company has a few different models but this is one I got. I don't know how to post a pic but here is a link where amazon has it for sale: http://www.amazon.com/Aspects-381-Hummzinger-Hummingbird-Feeder/dp/B001AHKNWC/ref=sr_1_9?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1370981654&
  17. I have mine out of direct sun. I bought one at the end of last year that is the saucer type that comes apart to clean. It also has a built in ant moat and is made in the USA.
  18. Everything I've read stresses keeping the feeders clean and the food fresh. Here's what one website says: Cleanliness Sugar water is a very rich growth medium. Yeasts like to eat it causing fermentation which can harm hummingbirds. Mold and bacteria grow in it and can also harm the birds. That is why it is important to keep the feeder clean and the nectar fresh. You must change the nectar frequently to avoid these contaminants. In cooler temperatures we recommend changing it every seven days. If the temperatures are getting above 70 degrees, follow this chart: High
  19. Because of the posts here I googled: legalize heroin? and this was one link that came up: Ron Paul favors legalizing heroin Texas congressman deserves first-tier scrutiny. Updated 12:31 pm, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 Before last week's South Carolina Republican debate, Ron Paul supporters complained that their candidate was not getting the first-tier attention his polling and fundraising should bring. It is true that Paul has often been overlooked and dismissed, as one might treat a slightly dotty uncle. But perhaps some first-tier scrutiny is deserved. Paul was the only c

  21. Thanks. I remember you mentioning his wife and that they were newlyweds.
  22. Surepip, thanks for going into more detail about how you view GMOs. You mentioned your son in the post in which you started the thread. What about him? How long has he felt GMOs were bad?
  23. Thanks for sharing that. I noticed you mentioned Florida in another thread. Have you and your wife decided on an area there where you plan to live when you retire?
  24. For moving to the Savannah area are there any nice areas to live where you could be close but not in Savannah?
