  1. I found the events for the Hiram location on Hwy 92: http://wgrl.net/venue/hiram-library/ Here are all the events for area libraries in calendar format: http://wgrl.net/events/
  2. Spunkywman. concerning the people who said those things: Let them OWN their actions. Recognize that it is not about you. More than likely they could have and probably have said similar things about others. And please know I'm not being critical of you. I understand a lot of what you said from experiences I've had. I'm just sharing something I read about developing emotional maturity recently and steps I believe would benefit me in my own life that I think might benefit many others, too.
  3. Thanks. I've heard of them but didn't know if they worked.
  4. How long have you used that? What does it repel? Does it work on fleas and/or ticks?
  5. I would like to hear about different options for the spending the money.
  6. Librarygirl, thanks for posting this. I went to one class and enjoyed it a lot. I look forward to more activities in the future. Can patrons make suggestions for future events? How far in advance are they scheduled, etc.? Also, is there a list for the Hiram library on Hwy 92? On a side note if you like crafting consider joining Georgia Crafters so we can learn from one another and maybe have local get-togethers, too: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GeorgiaCrafters
  7. I brought up this thread to remember all the places that were mentioned. I did get a waffle cone the other day at Wendy's and it was pretty good but I'd like to get a traditional one, too.
  8. I'm wondering if the media would have done differently if the crime had bee be same with a twist; one man attacked by 4---everything the same except the races reversed: 4 young white men beat a black man that ends up dead
  9. This article says only a biopsy can determined if it is viral or from another cause. Why would the media say it is viral if the cause is not known? Travis was recently required to spend at least 30 days at an alcohol treatment facility after he pled guilty to driving while intoxicated in January. Oliveira noted that while heavy alcohol use is not associated with acquired viral cardiomyopathy, it is associated with a similar condition called alcoholic cardiomyopathy. “The question here is how certain are we this is viral myocarditis?” Oliveira said. “In someone who has a history of a
  10. I thought people would like to know about it. Yes, I thought about your daughter's store before I started the thread. I remembered in the past that you have been very supportive of other local bookstores and that made an impression on me.
  11. I believe it's free and you don't need to bring anything?
  12. This is a link to their facebook page. Can anyone give me an idea of where they are located in relation to other businesses? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hiram-Books/468301566592117?fref=ts
  13. That's today. I didn't see the location listed. Is it the library on Ridge Road?
  14. It's hard to tell. Is that taken from your window? Have you been there before?
  15. I've always pictured ducks on lakes and ponds and never knew they liked mud puddles, especially if larger bodies of water were close by.
  16. I've heard a couple of speakers lately mention the need for vision: a vision for ourselves, our families, and our country.
  17. Here is one article dated June 30, 2013: Now an already appalling story has gotten worse. Not only does Georgia have some alarming rates of sexual assault among youthful offenders, but investigations into those incidents have been delayed, some indefinitely, by official foot-dragging or worse. Juvenile Justice Commissioner Avery Niles has suspended 19 investigators and their supervisor for failure to complete investigations into such complaints within 45 days. Some of the unresolved cases are from reports filed at least a year ago. "I assigned my Advisory Committee to review the De
  18. Postman, I decided I would search and I found some articles have been written since the original date. Scroll down a little on the page to see those: My link
  19. And this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4wVqMXcu8E
  20. Postman, that was interesting. At first I thought the video was just an Elvis impersonator doing the song the same way Elvis did. I was just about to click it off when the lyrics changed.
  21. Regular rain does a lot for the plants. I like the milder temperatures we've had lately.
  22. Just something to think about. Care for others and ourselves is needed. Deciding what's good vs. damaging is the question. Of course, not caring enough is a problem, too. Examples of overcare: • A mother who equates love with constant worry and fret about her children. • A citizen concerned about those affected by a natural disaster becomes inflamed and judgmental towards government or public agencies’ actions. • A spouse who wants to reassure their partner that they love them ends up stifling their partner with attention. • An employee fearful of possible layoffs feeds his anxiety wit
