Valbuena will be getting my vote, thanks to all that answered this question. I believe Paulding County is too big to have a judge that does not have a law degree even though it is not required to run for the office.

Thank you both. I have been researching these gentlemen this morning and your comments have been a great help.

remind me in November, I already voted this time. -
I never thought the way I feel is hatred. I would feel this way about anyone who stole money from their employees. Mostly I can not believe she can get away with withholding money from her employees and not submitting that money to the Federal and State governments. Also, sales taxes were collected and not submitted. These monies were not hers to keep, this is clearly illegal. At least when she does not pay her property taxes that is her debt not money she was given and apparently spent elsewhere.

I am sure you are correct. I was thinking of the hard stuff not beer and wine. Since the other places you listed are communities not cities they will not get to vote on this unless the County laws are changed -

okay I do not see where social security will be taxed. Just the retirement exclusion for those over 65 is capped at $65000 each. It was supposed to go up each year until all retirement income (for people 65 or older) was excluded. Social security is not part of the retirement exclusion.(for people 62-64 it remains $35000 each)

Why did you vote to reduce / end the exemption on Social Security and pension benefits for the elderly? I know this is off topic, can you explain more about this change?

Carruth - has he been declared qualified to run?
petie replied to LisaC's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Mr. Carruth has been declared qualified. Pubby has been emailed a copy of the 9 page document. -
I understand what you are saying and I agree with you. Unfortunately many people in Paulding County do not trust the system anymore and therefore will vote no.

I don't believe it is as simple as they are my pennies, I believe a deep seated mistrust of politics is the biggest factor
