Another overreach of government into the private sector by do gooders that since they are spending someone else' money, don't bother to do any due diligence, nor do they even try to control costs. And responses like that from liberals whenever a conservative attempts to be even somewhat reasonable is why we consider liberals to be both idiots and dangerous to our rights. The total lack of compromise in Washington is due to both parties acting like idiots.

As much as I am for gun rights, I would like to have a mandatory one time safety course required before purchase. Little things like always keeping control of it. Much the same as for getting a Hunting License. Safety is at least 50% of that course. You'd have to show your course completion card to purchase and to get a carry permit, which would act as the card in the future.

From the article, it's not clear who was attempting to clear/clean the weapon. Some stated they read the girl was in the mom's lap getting her hair styled, but I haven't seen that anywhere. From the video, it sounds like the son had the issue with the weapon, and came inside for some reason to work on it and dropped it trying to clear it. I have a 9mm that has been recalled because they had one (1) case of a broken firing mechanism allowing the weapon to go off when dropped. The manufacturers know in this environment that issues with safety mechanisms cannot be ignored.

Check your local High School (or whatever) NPHS has a paper and aluminum bin by the entrance. Pet Peeve: The aluminum bin clearly says " Aluminum Cans only" on the side of it, yet I see plastic bottles and plastic bags placed in there as well. That costs the school money as it is no longer "clean" aluminum.

I think the City of Atlanta is threatening the BOC with 10,000 acres of obnoxious development if they don't back off the Airport deal. How about 20,000 more homes in that area, wouldn't that be nice? At 1.5 workers per home, only be 30,000 more cars traveling down 278 every morning.

Got Possum on a Half Shell #2 last night! I figured I had another since I was seeing new ankle breaker holes all over the woods in the backyard. Had the trap in front of the den for 3 days before it finally was trapped, I figured it was an empty hole yesterday. Maybe it climbed over the logs blocking the sides to get in the trap. Man, those things are nasty and they STINK!

Got to be some other chemical like an acid that would burn the plant tops immediately. However, if the tops died that quick, then I doubt enough got absorbed to damage the roots and I would not be surprised if the field was fine in a couple of weeks.

At least it's good to know that the school system missed the money. When they spend the bond money, they can't tell us where millions were spent, much less $25K

Used to work over in Woodstock and would eat breakfast biscuits (Bacon, Bacon and Bacon) quite often. May not be quite as good as Martins, but I figure it won't have traffic worse than downtown Atlanta in the mornings either. Little out of the way for us, but I imagine I'll have a chance to try it sooner or later.
