Another blank check written. And people wonder why there is so much good ol' boy business. Checks and Balances are important, I wish this county would try them sometime.

For real. When I think of all the money in flyers and signs on the District 17 race and less than 4000 people voted I'm sick. I guess I don't understand it. I've voted in just about every election there has been since I was 18. (many, many years ago) because I want input in the govt. How can someone just let someone else determine the government you're going to have to live with? With all the complaining, is going to the polls *that* big of an inconvenience? You can argue that our local elections have a much bigger impact on our day to day lives than national ones, yet are the

Sigh. One day we the electorate will learn to quit writing blank checks to our politicians. But not this year. -

Dang it, if you don't quit agreeing with me and I don't quit agreeing with you, it's gonna get dull and boring around here... -
Would it have been better never to try to do something to honor them? They tried, didn't think it out completely and then got called on it. It's not the businesses fault. I might not shop there, but it's not going to be because of this, it's gonna be because it's a pain in the butt to get there down 92. Does the Hiram you are not going to shop in include all of the stores on 278?

I wouldn't expect "slow" to be good for the incumbents. -
So, does the airport litigation continue ad infinitum?

Well, now that you're not available, they have to have something active so that the political donations merry go round can keep running. -

Again, if the SPLOST fails this time, we will see it again. I think it's 6 months minimum between attempts, but we will see it. I'm just tired of vague project lists, cost overruns, fake promises, etc. Every Park they build with the SPLOST has to be maintained and *that* money comes from the general fund, it can't come from the SPLOST. Grass has to be cut, bushes trimmed, lights replaced, damage fixed, worn equipment replaced, gates locked/unlocked each night, patrolled by security, etc. These projects *do* impact the budget as well. I used the frozen water bottles quite often when we work at the hunting club in the summer. I use several frozen ones with several just cooled ones. By the time I've finished the cooled ones, the frozen ones have usually melted.

I voted no because I'm tired of them assuming it's going to be a pass. They are asking for approval over a year before it would go into affect. If it fails this time, we'll see it again, be sure of that, but hopefully with some more details as demanded. The School Board learned that on the bond referendum the first time it failed. No Blank Checks. (which is what those vague descriptions are) PS. Remember Electronic Voting. They can program in any result they want and because we have no paper trail of what we voted, we have absolutely no recourse. -
I think I paid $350 or so for a 1500 gallon tank. Need to do it again. Much cheaper than redoing the drain field.

Agree that it's all of them. When we built in 2000, we installed all GE appliances in the kitchen, fairly high end. Stovetop has one burner you have to wave at to get it to start burning. (have learned to love the smell of burn hair) Dishwasher does well until it goes insane and all the LEDs start counting in binary every time you push any button. Have to power it down and up at the breaker box to get it back. Did have to replace one part a few years ago, but as much as we use it, I wasn't too upset. GE over/under convection oven has been a nightmare. Had the repair peopl

Wind Turbines are killing thousands of birds (including rare eagles and other birds of prey). Reflective Solar electric plants are frying more thousands of birds on the wing when accidentally fly through the beam. Any kind of major energy project is going to have both good and bad impacts to the environment. (Don't get me started on the pollution from the manufacturing of Solar cells)

Got another mud flinging flyer against Liberty yesterday, couldn't even find the address on it to see who was sponsoring it. I guess my color blindness made the shade change too hard to see. I may have some question on some of Liberty's stances, but I am *sick* of the mud flinging. I have been pleased that other than Maxwell and his supporters the flyers have been pretty positive. Howard and his supporters seem to be the only ones doing it so far.

Ok, the house is getting up in age, we've been here for 16 years and I have begun to get concerned about the water heaters (I have two). I flushed them the other day, but while looking on line for information, discovered that all water heaters have an Anode rod (usually installed in the top) that should be checked/replaced every six years or so to protect the tank. Since mine are 16 YO now and I haven't done this, I'm rather upset that the tanks may fail soon because I had never heard this. Meanwhile, everyone I've asked about it hasn't been aware of them either. So, I though

Well, got a positive (maybe) flyer today on Maxwell, but... he didn't send it. Some outfit called "The Georgia coalition for Job Creation" in Atlanta sent it. Hmmm... so who are they and why is someone in ATL concerned about a PAULDING representative? Doing a quick google on the corporate-funded Super PAC, it appears it is big business in the state is attempting to attack politicians that don't back their bills over their voters interests and give extra support to those politicians that do what they want rather than listening to their voters. Their web site is totally useless:

Actually, I'm thinking if you added a motion detector to the light so it only came on if it detected movement, it would be great to leave a couple around the various entrances to your house. Imagine someone breaking in at night and suddenly having one of those light up across the room from them.

The part of it that really ticks me off is that these sleazeballs that use the negative ads/flyers are too chicken to put their name on the flyers. if you are going to throw mud at your opponent rather than tell the voters what *YOU* are going to do, then at least have the guts to claim your words. Only thing on the flyer is an address on the bottom left corner that is one shade lighter than the color around it to make it dang near invisible. (Guess that keeps it "legal" ) It reads: 716 Graham Rd Dallas, Ga 30132 A quick Google search of the campaign funding reports finds th
