  1. Surprise, surprise, surprise! Not! Total waste of time and paper.
  2. The local Home depot carries the small rolls, like 10x12, but last I looked they were not particularly cheap. ($30 to $35 dollars) They were hard to find.
  3. They've already been there. We've had 65,000,000 years of weird global cooling and the Earth is finally getting back to normal. Coastline 65,000,000 years ago due to high water: The Earth has had massive climate change since it's creation. The best we can do is prepare for it, not try to stop it.
  4. Used both Mike Kitchens and Skyline. Good service from both. Mike cleaned my septic tank last time. Note that when I had a plugged line, Mike recommended going with a plumber rather than themselves, thus Skyline who were there the same day and reasonably priced.
  5. I'm sure it was tested, but those suckers are expensive, so it was tested just enough to prove they work, but not enough to show that sometimes they were too powerful. Common issue in manufacturing today where it's cheaper to refurbish the few items that fail than to test all of them in the factory.
  6. Drove by it. Looked to be very high speed impact. Prayers for those involved.
  7. It's not a "myth". There can NEVER be all the money needed for everything. If "Free", you will have people that run to the doctor every time their nose runs. If "Free" you will have people ask for those millions to be spent trying to cure a cancer that won't stop. They spent 18 months trying to prevent my SIL's son's death from cancer. Surguries, radiation, chemo, experimental procedures, you name it. All paid for by the taxpayers. You have to ration care in some way. In most "single payer" countries, they do it by limiting facilities and putting off "non-critical" procedur
  8. AOL still has enough subscribers to be worth 4.4 Billion? Amazing. I remember the total pain in the butt it was to cancel my account with them when I went to DSL.
  9. Sounds like one of the most reasonable statements I've read from a politician on the subject. There are hundreds of different things happening that contribute to climate change. For instance, I've been reading that the sun's output has been lower than normal for the last few years, fewer sunspots, etc. That no doubt is a contributing factor to climate change. What many have said is that it's silly to immediately assume that one thing out of those hundreds is the sole cause of a climate change and only arrogance would assume that we have total control over the climate and change
  10. To me, it's not an argument for or against govt art, it's an explanation of why funding gets cut. Art of a type is supported, *somebody* gets ticked off, often a a large group who end up attacking their representative asking why they are allowing the govt to support such "filth" (or whatever). The Politician, no matter what the party, doesn't want to lose votes, so they make a few speeches and agree with others who have had their voters do the same thing, to reduce the funding. I would estimate that 95%+ of all politicians, no matter what the party, are mainly interested in getting
  11. Deputy got burned. Let them in to do glitter and balloons. Came back too late.
  12. Sounds a lot like East Paulding High, where there was a small group going to do a "prank", but someone couldn't keep their mouth shut and a bunch of troublemakers heard about it and joined in and everyone is getting hit.
  13. What the sentence would be shouldn't be a factor in guilt or innocence, that was proper IMO. Another argument against mandatory sentencing. We elect and pay these judges to be judges. Let them do their job!!
  14. I hope that whoever his supervisor was got his butt fired as well. No excuse.
  15. The point is that the Govt is *required* to not be biased when it supports something. The reduction in the NEA was more because the government couldn't support one type of art if it couldn't support all of them and pretty much 50% of the "art" out there is going to disgust *someone* so they pretty much had to stop. It's not a conservative plot. Same with holiday decorations, etc. If they are going to provide tax funded support for one religion, you have to offer the same to all. That's not a Liberal plot to remove God from the world, it's the law. Offer a sports team to the guy
  16. I'm still confused as to what you mean by "congress", State or Federal? Newt or Glenn? As well, I'm not sure that I agree you have a valid point in what the school system should offer. The standards you are suggesting existed appear to have not been equally applied and I suspect that is what got it changed more than just the GOP wanting to save money.. I know you live with that reality every day, but If that standard were applied to the "Exceptional" children, i.e. that that school system should be forced to provide whatever level of support, supplies and teaching for them to show "
  17. But if the Federal Govt supports anti-Christian art via the National Endowment of the Arts, do you feel that's OK because of Freedom of Speech?
  18. Ok, gotta ask: Exactly how do you blame the GOP for everything that has happened? Got any specific examples instead of blindly blaming the GOP? Seems like the Liberals have been running most of Dept of Ed lately or it would be a heck of a lot different that it is.
  19. Yes. The exceptions on the May 1st to Sept 30th Burn ban (in GA) are: Who defines what a "Campfire" is not defined anywhere that I could find. However, I would assume that me trying to define my 8'x10' fire pit as a "campfire" would be shot down in flames.
  20. Burning Trash Burning at night Burning during the Ban Strike three, call the law. JMO
  21. You are correct that I haven't raised a special needs child, but have several friends that have them, from Asbergers to a seriously autistic young man, so I have some exposure to them. I agree with the poster above that it's one thing to do that to your own child, but if something happens to the child while the teacher is trying to wrap the child, who is getting blamed? Say, the teacher trips over the blanket edge and falls on the child, or knocks them against a wall during the struggle? I assume the special needs classes have multiple teachers/assistants so their are witnesses, but from
  22. Burning after dark is illegal year round. I'll call the Fire Department and/or Marshall and see if you can't get them tracked down. They could burn the entire freaking neighborhood down. From the Paulding Gov site:
  23. Oh heck no am I going to wrap somebody's elses kid up in a blanket and start squeezing. That's a lawsuit *waiting* to happen.
  24. I read somewhere (can't find it now) that it's 25% of the birds in Iowa are now infected. Surepip - Where is the production of Fertilized Eggs and chicks based? Do you think that operation could be impacted by this flu? Seems to me that if a lost a hefty percentage of the ability to make new fertilized eggs we would go from years to recover to decades to recover.
