No matter what side of the marriage debate you were on, from what I read, this ruling was a bad one from a legal standpoint. Justice Kennedy writes: Holy Crap! He basically says that if one state allows something, it makes it difficult for people to travel to a state where it might not be accepted, therefore, the court has said that all states must allow everything that any state allows. Say goodby to the restrictive gun laws and bans! If one state allows open carry, they all must by this reasoning otherwise, someone taking a gun into another state would risk severe hard

Pauldinggov Board of commissioners hold budget hearing
The Sound Guy replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Thanks Freebird. Anybody seen the school board budget yet? Their mil rate is the majority of the taxes, if the tax digest went up as much as it appears, they are going to get a big increase in revenue. (Like 10% if I'm reading this right) -
I often find the problem is who defines "reasonable". You see I have no problem with someone with a carry permit having a concealed pistol entering the airport to pick up someone. I have a BIG problem with an idiot carrying an AR-15 with 100 round rotary clip into the airport. The first is for possible self defense, it's my opinion that the later is pure intimidation. However, I'm sure you could find millions that would argue the opposite way with equal zeal.

Agree that there are arguments for both sides. It's those that have blinkers on that only see their own arguments that drive me crazy. I'd be fine with a cooling off period if there were ways to get around it say with a police report on threats of harm, etc.

Should it be a law that someone wishing to assault someone has to give a two day notice as well? Wonder how well that would work.

Mention government giveaways and the hayseed yahoos will be right here cheering them on.

Dang, an infection picked up *in* the hospital can be bad. Lifting him up.

SIgh. You are a one trick pony aren't you. Promote your addenda, then insult anyone that points out their is another viewpoint rather than discussing it. Pitiful.

On the other had, If someone is trying to kill you, a two day waiting period can be deadly.

When we tried there 5 or 6 years ago, found the service good (if a little loud). They had an emphasis on small groups which is good, but I guess due to the building size, didn't do any groups Sunday morning, but during the week instead. I travel so that wasn't good for me. YMMV.

Pedestrian Struck by Train near Marietta Square
The Sound Guy replied to tiggybff16's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Another point that was raised by a friend of mine. The people hit are not the only victims. The engineers/conductors have to live with having watched someone die for the rest of their lives. If you want a feeling for how long it takes for a train running full speed to stop, the link below has two videos, one from each side of the tracks of a car that tried to race this train to the crossing and lost. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=616_1426435652 The first captures the impact and stops, the second continues on until the train comes to a stop almost exactly a minute later after a -
Without seeing the exact questions asked, any poll is pretty much useless. Most polls are written with the questions bias towards the response desired, so what's the point of arguing about the results.

Buying a gas grill. What do you recommend?
The Sound Guy replied to marvinthemartian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I've got one of the Chargrills mentioned above, that we've had for 8 or 9 years now. We use it a LOT, so yes, I rebuild it every 2-3 years, but new burners, tents, crossbar, etc only run me $80 or so. Lots cheaper than a new grill. You can order the parts on line directly from Chargrill. Mine's natural gas so replacing it completely much more than a propane grill. I recommend getting a natural gas grill if you can get a pipe put in easily, it has two benefits: 1) Never run out of gas at a party 2) Neighbors/Friends can't borrow your grill an return it in a mess. Pedestrian Struck by Train near Marietta Square
The Sound Guy replied to tiggybff16's topic in RECENT TOPICS
First time for everything, I"m liking something that TP has posted. Need to go play the lottery the odds MUST be in my favor. He is correct, too many people wear their headphones on the tracks and can't hear the horns until too late. -
Pedestrian Struck by Train near Marietta Square
The Sound Guy replied to tiggybff16's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Pretty easy, not pay attention to what's going on around you or assume everything will go perfectly. Marietta is complicated because there are two active tracks there. One of the accidents there earlier in the year, a father and daughter were standing in the Southbound tracks, watching a train go by on the Northbound tracks. It appeared that with all the noise and the NB train blowing it's horn for the other crossings, they never heard the SB train blowing it's horn before it hit them. As I recall, both lived, though they were both injured as well. In Austell, a young man att -

thought for a while it was going to pass east *and* west of us and leave us dry, but got about 20-30 minutes worth. Found the back gutters are clogged again. Ugg. 21 ft in the air. -
WellStar Paulding’s Expansion Sooner Than Expected
The Sound Guy replied to Al Lee Gator's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I'm assuming that this cert is from the government, is that correct? I didn't realize that hospitals were that regulated. Guess we are closer to total government control of our health care than I thought. So much for private enterprise deciding where they can invest their money. -

Carp - if they forget to take their pills while single, what are they going to forget when trying to take care of child without help? We've lost count of the number of girls my daughter knows from high school who now have kids out of wedlock.

Hmmm... we also rank 7th in Percent of births to unwed mothers at 45.6 freaking percent (2013) Wonder if that might explain why a lot of them are unemployed??? http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/states/ga_2014.pdf

I don't get DUI. Arrested for DUI would be bad enough, but you can kill yourself or even worse, other people so easily and end up with homicide charges and destroy other peoples lives . If you have a job like her's you are risking your livelihood as well. My son's bakery manager he's worked with for over a year was killed this week by a drunk driver in Bartow. He's having to deal with the fact that the young lady with a 4 yo child that he talked to the day before is now gone forever due to an idiot driving drunk. The dad now has to explain to a 4 YO that mom's not coming back hom

WellStar Paulding’s Expansion Sooner Than Expected
The Sound Guy replied to Al Lee Gator's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Don't know about slow to pay, but hard to work with I'd believe in a heartbeat. Usually you are dealing with a committee that will take forever to approve anything. (I say that as being part of the trustees for the next 3 years) -
WellStar Paulding’s Expansion Sooner Than Expected
The Sound Guy replied to Al Lee Gator's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Myself, I think it comes from school attitudes. They are allowed to make up late work, never punished for being late, spoon-fed the tests, etc because the schools are trying to meet these arbitrary statistical goals the state put on them and it's mandatory they be there. They can get through with minimum effort as we dumb down the system and the school system, not the student, is punished if they don't "pass". If they could be expelled for not trying to learn, you's see a different lesson learned. So they graduate and they expect the workplace to be the same way. Can't blame them s
