They should sell quick if they are in good shape, it's a sellers market right now...

Tell me about it. We were moving friends from their home of 17 years or so. Trying to carry stuff to the truck after that storm passed was BRUTAL!!

Well, this was supposed to be the first time in 24 years that I wouldn't have any of mine going back to school, but the middle one has decided to go back to KSU to try to get a few more classes for a minor. At least for college I'm not quite as involved...

2017 Proposed Budget BOC Meetings from 7-25-2016
The Sound Guy replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
But, but, but... the tax rate is going down from 6.528 to 6.5 so that's a tax cut!! At least that was what Jerry and company was claiming during the boom years. In any case, the budget had been slashed of a lot of the fat during the recession, I'm not surprised they need to expand it a little, esp as building starts to boom again. The road dept will need extra funding too as the concrete trucks and other heavy delivery trucks start tearing up these cheap subdivision roads and the developers bail on their responsibilities again. Thanks for the info LR. -
Voted at the middle school at lunch. Light, but there were people drifting in.

The more of these attacks occur, the more it will feed the others, including home grown extremest and those that are just angry and depressed like the truck driver in Nice and want to strike out. Europe opened the door to disaster, this ain't going to be good. -

Yep. The Reservoir project is huge and because of the Airport Crap, nobody is looking at it. The 80 million dollar bid award for the pumping stations went just about unnoticed. Everyone of these new parks the SPLOST pays for is mucho dollars. With all this construction going on again, roads and schools are about to become big business again. We've had two or three water main breaks out here in the last two weeks. Our water infrastructure is getting old. But all this is being buried by the Airport discussion. Stupid. -
He can't cause a trade war, we've already been in a trade war for the last 40 years and LOSING. Those dollars going overseas and not returning are being used to buy up what is left of our country's businesses and allow them to be moved overseas. Manufacturing by blue collar workers was the primary source of wealth for years. Manufacturing makes value. Everything else just moves value around. We've allowed that which creates value to be thrown away and wonder why so many people are having to work for minimum wage at service jobs. Duh. If the jobs are here, the money will be he

Doesn't sound like they have much to go on with no witnesses. So sad for all of them. Their son will never remember them. There is a reason that part of the county is called "Crackworth".

We've had showers at the house, but most of them were worthless, barely wet the ground, no runoff. All they did was take the humidity to 90%. Arrrggg.

Thanks Satellite!

Satellite - Can you PM me the company you ended up with? TM&AT quoted a friend an outrageous amount as well, they'd love an alternative.

Hmmm.. might be a good time to get some components for my PC upgrade.... -
Of course, the water department will have access to the millions we've been paying Cobb for our water to help pay for this, less the operations cost. So it's not like all this will have to be added to the bills we're already paying.
-
Geez. 215 million. Wonder how many GOBs will be getting their portion of THOSE contracts. Wow. The School bond was 120 million if I remember correctly. This will be just under double of that. Old School Bond rate (before the SPLOST started paying for it) was approx 3 mil. So this would be nearly six mil, or close to the entire county government M&O rate. Awful lot of money to paid for by water bills.

Is it just me or has this been the windiest summer in a long time? It seems like even on the clear days I have strong winds blowing stuff around..

She wasn't under oath (not that it would mean much to her) and the interviews were not even recorded. Oh yea, this wasn't a serious investigation from the beginning. Link

What a worthless announcement. We don't really know how much this increase is since they don't tell us what the rollback rate is. This administration is as bad as the last in trying to hide the true numbers from people. In any case, if the property owner is under 70 years old, the School board rate is the vast majority of your bill. Looking at 2015, the school mil rate was 18.87 (out of a max of 20 or 21 I think), + the 2 to 3 mils for the bonds being paid for by the ESPLOST. The total of the rest of the bill is only 11.8 mils. (Fire 3.1, County M&O 6.52 and County Bond 2.22)

Unfortunately, it sounds like he'd just flirted with the law, but not crossed the line. Unless the person does something illegal with witnesses, the police have their hands tied. That is the downside to the Bill of Rights. It's like the nutcase over on Cedarcrest, I remember some Pcommer lived next door and had potshots go by and other dangerous stuff happen, but had no proof. I think they finally sold the farm for a loss.

Unless they are willing to spend as much time and money as NASA does on the space probes (which even after all that effort one of them had a bug that destroyed it on entry into Mars atmosphere) I won't let one drive me. Look at the bugs in the F-35 software, they are still working to get it to an *acceptable* bug rate. Think the auto manufacturers will spend as much on the auto drive software as the government to make sure it's right? Ha!! No, auto manufacturers are too cheap to spend the money and in too much of a hurry to "beat the other guy to market" to make sure its right. Anot

I figure they need to pay for this: From the June 14 minutes: Assuming that funky price is really $87 million, not 87 thousand as is in the minutes. (I hope they proofread the contract better than the BOC minutes) Oh yea, add another 4 million for Program management services. Four million for program management? That's over 4% of he contract and this is payment #2!!
