In the Dabbs Bridge area. It's very low, wondering if I have a pipe burst or it's the county's problem.

Is Paulding going to have a July 4th fireworks this year?
The Sound Guy replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I suspect it costs *way* less. We get a lot more bang for the buck. -
And how many ER visits with missing body parts? At least the thunderstorms Sunday may help keep the fires down. I was looking at some of the big fireworks in one of the stores on Monday. Holy Carp!! They have up to a 3" shell. That's almost commercial size. If that gets fired through someones window, goodby house!

I'd really like none of the above. Or get the democrats to bring someone reasonable in. <sigh> Haven't got a clue how I'll vote.

Man steals vehicle from Paulding County fire station

Would you feel the same if he had run over you during the rampage? No, wait, you'd be dead. Nevermind. People are responsible for their own actions. Always. ALWAYS!! Holy carp, "mentally ill" as an excuse is a catch 22. You appear to be saying that, anyone who is sane wouldn't do anything crazy (no matter how PO'd they are), therefore, if they do something crazy, they must be insane by your definition, therefore, they are not responsible and shouldn't be punished. Is that what you are saying? Really? -
Inside a secret Government Warehouse

Yea, I like the idea, I just wish there was a way to send, say the antibiotics, to county health clinics all over the country six months or so before they expire. -
Just cut the grass and sprayed 2 gallons of weed poison that needs 4 hours before rain. Ok Rain Gods, figure that one out.

Customer with concealed carry permit fatally shoots
The Sound Guy replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Gun toting conservative should have minded his own business. Doesn't everybody carry an ax around in case a tree falls down? It probably just slipped out of his hand. -
I think so. I remember comments in the movie that most of the Wilkes family only married cousins. I just googled it for the fun of it and found an article that says around the world, 20% of marriages are first cousin marriages. I find that hard to believe, but wouldn't have a problem with 2nd or 3rd cousin. By that point, the bloodlines are pretty far apart assuming that the marriages in between the cousins were not themselves inner family marriages. Our Godson actually has double cousins. Brother and sister married sister and brother. it does simplify family holidays somewhat

Hey, it worked for Melanie Hamilton and Ashley Wilkes. Didn't it?

Thought this was interesting. Shows that at least *some* of our government is trying to think ahead. However, unless there a program in place to rotate equipment and supplies to public health departments before the drugs expire, it's a frightful waste of resources. The article notes there is a lot of concern on what they need to be doing, but not a lot of consensus. Distribution may also be a major issue as noted in the article. I think back to the New Orleans mess and wonder if we'd be able to get this stuff to the people who need it quick enough if there was a health attack.

Man steals vehicle from Paulding County fire station

LOL, Yea, really hadn't thought of it that way, but have to agree. We could have bought a pretty good insurance company with all the money gone down the tubes on these worthless projects and all the bribes campaign contributions that have been spent in this county. Still, good to know we have backup equipment as if the county repair department works as well as the county commission, it could be 2020 before that truck is back on the job. -
To encourage people and Companies to build solar power plants in the San Diego area, California Solar initiative and the San Diego Gas and Electric has had a program where they would buy back excess power from individual Solar power installations at retail rates. Obviously not sustaining in the long run, (SDG&E can't transport all the power it sells for free) the first phase of the program was limited to 5% of the utilities demand being met by solar. Sometime in June, SDG&E is going to be the first investor owned utility to reach the program limit! That's pretty cool that a majo

Cool. Good to know that the SPLOST money is being used for backup equipment as well as new stations. it seems a shame to keep it sitting around, but when you need it, you need it. Wonder if SPLOst money can be used for repair work? I wonder if the county has insurance or if we are self insured. -
I almost got caught the other day on a fake firefox "emergency upgrade" popup. Question EVERYTHING!

I love the way it's assumed that anyone that does something stupid shouldn't be responsible for their actions. That's the freaking problem with this country. It's always not their fault. He destroyed county property and now we have a rescue truck that won't be able to rescue people for at least a couple of weeks. People could DIE waiting for one of the trucks farther away in the county. When my MIL had a severe stroke at our house, it was the Paulding Rescue personnel that got here first and that recognized it and told us to get to the hospital inside the golden hour. She made almos -

Shooting of Jenna Wall by her MIL raises questions/issues

My wife's cousin grew up with her, went to Harrison High with her. They were very close friends. I met her briefly at the cousin's wedding. From what I've read, the MIL came up with some story for the kids to go to the car, then she shot Jenna, so they were not in the house. Then called her son and told him to come over. RIP Jenna. PS. Really Pubby... really? You had to go there. -

OK, question for folks: We always use raw eggs in our recipe to make it smooth (the old family recipe), anyone else do that? -
You gotta admit, reports like this don't make it any easier to trust that the government is on our side. Link the actual report is in the quote. Do *you* feel safer knowing that the IRS, EPA, and the OFFICE OF POLICY, BUDGET AND ADMINISTRATION are so well armed?

Pretty much always make vanilla. We use a recipe that my PIL have been using for years. There was the time that my FIL grabbed the Black Walnut flavoring by mistake instead of the vanilla, but I don't think that counts. -

Guns stolen from recently-formed school police force
The Sound Guy replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Article in the AJC this morning on it: Well, now, they are not sure exactly how many guns they own. The school system has "struggled" with tracking purchases and other important areas. Wow. The report was that they were stolen out of the trunk of someone's car and was called in on an anonymous ethics line. However, today, the schools chief is saying that there is no proof they were stolen. They are pretty sure they have control over all the guns they think they purchased. Even the ones purchases a while ago before they had a police force. Exactly why the school system should -
Guns stolen from recently-formed school police force

It means that we have idiots running the Atlanta Public Schools. But then, we already knew that. I don't see any mention of the safe that the firearms were stored in being torched open to remove the weapons. Which means, they were not IN a safe. Some idiot tried to store them in a locked storeroom or file cabinet somewhere thinking that is "secure" enough. So either another employee of the school system or a "friend of friend" who found out what room they were in made off with them. Whoever signed off on purchasing the weapons without purchasing a secure means to store them is
