  1. Of course, we have hurricane season upon us and a tropical storm is threatening the Gulf. All they need is a storm as an excuse to send them back up again...
  2. This does sound like a scam. Has she already paid the money? I would not! Companies such as this prey on people that are in trouble financially....I don't see how they sleep at night. Usually you can find negative information online. I personally like Clark Howard as a go to for financial advice. Good luck to your friend!
  3. Steak-n-Shake on South Cobb Drive...I had the time of my life. It was a drive in with carhops. This was in the 1970's when everyone cruised South Cobb Drive and Steak-n-Shake. Those were the days....
  4. No problem........you were right in that she was refusing pain meds to recover from the phantom pains of amputation but is receiving them for the recent surgery. She and her family are amazing!
  5. Here is the lastest post from her Dad's Blog and a link to his blog as well.....Prayers for Amy and her family, I couldn't imagine. http://aimeecopeland.com/andy-blog/2012/06/17/happy-fathers-day/ Donna and I have just come from seeing Aimee this morning and I can report that over the past 48 hours, Aimee has had the most difficult pain she’s experienced through her entire ordeal. Just to be clear: in my previous post I mentioned that Aimee refused pain medication during dressing changes. The surgery Aimee had on Friday is far more severe than any dressing change imaginable. Aim
  6. I have Skype up and running thanks to my wonderful niece! Now, Great-Granddad, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews can meet the new little fellow tomorrow!
  7. Okay Bro.......I just talked to her. I should have none that she is the technology guru.
  8. I have a new grandson on the way and want my Dad to be able to see his great grandson after he's born. I have skype and I'm willing to buy him one but I have heard there are free ones available online. I have never used Skype before. Any suggestions, advice, or input on Skype or something similar??
  9. Oh, okay.....I absolutely love Dr. Townsend. I have had other urologists but would not recommend anyone to them. Good Luck!
  10. Dr. Murphy Townsend at Urology Associates in Marietta. He's the best!! He will even call you at home to check on you after a procedure.
  11. First, I wish people would look into the "problems" that they speak of....what one person considers a "problem" or "unacceptable" may not be considered such by another person. We should do research and talk to candidates and make INFORMED decisions at the ballot box! Also, it is very difficult for armchair politicians to make a judgement call when they don't know ALL of the facts that go into a decision or coming up with a solution. Next, in regards to education.....education is in a mess right now, however, it is not all on the back of the politicians, BOE, teachers, administrators, etc.
  12. I disagree with you about CO but the problem with teachers not doing their job is a direct result of unions. No, but they all have the POWER to vote. Have you checked the statistics on the number of people that vote lately?
  13. Oh yes.....I know for a fact that it is very difficult to let teacher's go that are not doing their job. It can be done, however, it is very difficult and often results in a lawsuit.
  14. Wrong, they have let several incompetent people go at central office, however, there are many good ones left! Oh no! PM is in the house to jump on the union bandwagon...
  15. I made a mistake...I know the difference......however, you know as well as I do there are many teachers that do not deserve to be in the classroom.
  16. Teacher's unions also prevent us from letting teachers go that don't do their job...... Oh, and many want to talk about political corruption. What about corruption and power within the labor unions? There are many TRUE stories to tell.....
  17. Is that your suggestion or are you "in the know?"
  18. Neil Boortz has always bragged about the Havana Rest. that was destroyed by fire. They have re-opened on Buford Hwy. They have been in business since 1976 and I have heard many great reviews but have never eaten there. I would love to check it out. They have a website, just Google it. Hope this helps.
  19. Today I saw a bobcat and some landscaping......we shall see.
  20. I'm curious as well.....I saw two, bright yellow, locked gates installed that lead to the lower parking lot. Haven't heard anything else.
  21. What would my evening be like without a good ole PM analogy???? Pure entertainment!
  22. I look forward to the interview with Mr. James as well. As for Ms. Braddock, I don't know anything about criminal activity but I have served along side of her in the community and she is not suitable for the job of state representative. This became more obvious to me in the town hall meeting where she attempted to answer questions but Ms. Galloway was answering them for her. She does not have what it take to be our state representative in my opinion.
  23. I totally agree with you regarding Kim Cobb, however, I disagree with the fact that our school system has gone downhill in the last four years. ALL school systems have taken a tremendous hit in the past four years due to the economy and tremendous budget cuts. I believe they have done a great job of doing more with less. Yes, they have had to make some hard decisions but our students are still succeeding academically. If you are going to say a school system is going downhill you need to cite facts and evidence.....I sense some bitterness over something personal......
