My husband, son, and I have all had kidney stones. I had to pick my son up off of the side of a mountain as he was hiking the Appalachian Trail when his second bout hit. He had twelve that time. They believe his were formed as a result of taking Topomax for seizures. Since they adjusted his meds he hasn't had any. I had a large one blasted (lithotripsy) and it took me a while to pass all of the little pieces. They "log jammed" and it was the most painful thing ever! And, yes, I have experienced natural childbirth....it's a toss up. Hope she recovers quickly, I don't wish those on any one!

I love the compassion (of most) on this site. Many times P.com has come together to help someone in need. I also love the compassion for animals. Many people helped me look for my Sandy when she was missing. Total strangers were out driving around looking for her. P.com also helped me when I rescued several animals and needed help with them. And....I must admit I love a lively political debate every now and then. Happy Birthday P.com!

I did not realize that George and Barbara Bush had lost their first daughter (and third child) to leukemia....she was only four. I personally love the fact that anyone, no matter who they are, will reach out to someone that is a victim of that cruel disease. Cancer Sucks! Prayers for Patrick!!!

This thread is about a nice gesture by a former President and a precious young man that is suffering from cancer. STOP ALREADY! You are over the top! It looked truly awful! I just cringed.....I feel so bad for him. The Mets player seemed genuinely concerned and sorry but there was nothing he could have done. I love to see good sportsmanship.... Prayers for HUDDY!

The home invasion happened at Hill Road, Powder Springs. The young father/husband fought off the intruder, the gun went off but no one was hit. The intruder fled in a car and was found in the Paulding County Subdiv. where Paulding Co Deputies had the encounter with him. And I never mentioned Trayvon Martin....did I??? However, many folks that are protesting the Zimmerman verdict are also protesting against the stand your ground law.

I am a teacher and it is very disappointing to get this answer, however, it happens way too often. Students today are lacking critical thinking skills. No matter how hard I try to pull it out of them they would rather take the easy way out. Unfortunately, I believe technology has alot to do with this....they either let the computer do their thinking for them or sit and play mind numbing games and text all day. I still challenge them every day and pray that somehow I can unlock their minds.... JMHO

As I said in my post in the "my hood" thread. The AJC failed to mention the horrifying ordeal the young family, the victims of the home invasion, had to go through. The young homeowner fought off the intruder and the intruder's gun went off. Praise God he nor his family were hit. This young man is a HERO! This is why guns and stand your ground laws are completely necessary!
