  1. I'm with you on this one; however, your comment does not surprise me based on your avatar.
  2. Sign of the times. There are hundreds of project sites started all over Metro Atlanta, thousands in Georgia and who knows how many in the US that have stopped due to the affects of the recession. I believe that particular development was going to be yet another shopping center. Probably was going to have a Mexican restaurant, a nail salon, a bank, and who knows what other "must need now" stores.
  3. You are correct. There will be about 100+ pieces of construction equipment parked here and be auctioned off soon. A great location to do this considering the owner of the equipment also owns the land off a prime visible location.
  4. It is very, very rare to see a back yard fence come up to the front of the house. You will generally see the fence installed on the sides of the house about 1 to 2 feet off the back of the house. Now, if you are in a subdivision and it has a covenant, go by that. Don't bother calling the City or County about covenants. These are private documents between home owners and their Home Owners Association. Typical fences codes in covenants are what I stated above. Come to think of it, I have only seen houses fenced up to the front corners only when they are not in subdivisions.
  5. Maybe the lights are on because they may have a son or daughter serving in the military and will be home soon. My parents did that for me 30 years ago.
  6. I'll see your second and raise you a third! :clapping:
  7. Although I really feel for the OP and totally understand the situation, I have to agree here. Do not post a percentage of something as a fact without giving proof. Totally ruins the credibility of anything in the post, especially the response about driving down the streets and seeing all the dead animals. Again, I totally feel your pain on this. Just stick to the facts. Especially since you have this as your signature line at the bottom of your posts... "If you didn't see it with your own eyes or hear it with you own ears, don't invent it with your small mind and share it with your
  8. Our children are 17 and 16 right now. Sure wished we thought about that car thing back then. Would have made things a whole lot easier.
  9. Um, home would be the best choice. Think real hard about this. The child is one. In this economy there is no need to spend money on something like this outside of the home.
  10. Ear buds will always go out on you. For quality, buy a full set, over the ear head phones. Some mp3/music players; however, do not have the power for the over the ear head phones. Shop around and ask questions. Tell the geeks at the store what you are using them for. They will point you in the right direction. Hopefully.
  11. RIP Royal. Monday's show is going to be a tear jerker for sure.
  12. Third child. First son. Sisters are 2 and 8 years older. Brother is 2 years younger.
  13. Was a Gemini. Now a Taurus. Yea right. Pppplllltttttttttttt
  14. St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store 651 West Memorial Dr. Dallas, GA 30312 770-443-1537 Mon.-Sat. 10 a.m — 6p.m.
  15. Inset "drooling" emoticon here.
  16. Thank you for pointing this out about the rubber tips on the blades. There is a kid in our neighborhood in Johnstons Ridge who was using his dad's back-hoe to "play" on our streets yesterday. I asked him to stop because all he was doing is removing the snow and causing the streets to instantly freeze and destroying our roadway with the metal blade. Didn't phase him a bit. Saw his dad on the tractor later trying to fix his son's mess; however, the ice only got worse. I hate to see what the roadway looks like after all this melts away.
  17. I assure you that those who are intellegent enough to be surgeons, doctors, nurses and such are intellegent enough to have made arrangements like staying in the hospitals. We did have days to prepair for this. I am going out on a limb here to say that while most of you were in the stores the past few days stocking up on milk sandwiches and beer, these intellegent folks, and I willalso include DOT and utility workers here, were prepairing for their stay in the hospitals, DOT and other utility command centers and so on.
  18. We had veg. beanie weenie last night. I know, a contradiction in terms. Kroger veg. beans are the bomb! Litterally and figuratively.
  19. Nope. Not buying it. Your original post was "Ok. I know things happen. I have little ones too, but in all seriousness, what was it that you HAD to get from the store SO BAD that you are walking??? I'm not being rude but we all had days to plan. I'm wondering what that, "I"m going to die if I don't get it" thing is for you?!??!" In all seriousness... We did not panic and had to rush out to the store and purchase the last gallon of milk, the last loaf of bread and the last 6-pack of what ever to get us by because of snow coming. We were walking because it was pretty out and wanted to
