  1. Yes we do as well as our sanitation workers and a UPS driver. The mail carrier and sanitation workers are the same most of the year. The UPS is just the lucky guy who we happened to catch before he ran back to the truck. We do cash or gift cards, a prepackaged food treat, and a small gift. We give just a little more than the rules posted above. Never saw them before.
  2. Took my mother there the other day for breakfast. It was simple but delicious. Very inexpensive too. The man at the counter who I presume to be the owner was very nice. We will go back. Love to support local businesses.

    Hospice

We used Hospice Advantage. The nurse was at our house 30 minutes after returning from the hospital. The furniture and equipment arrived minutes later. My husband's aide who came 3x a week was an angel. When he passed they were here quickly. We were so happy to have him home. He was so at peace. They also helped him fulfill a bucket list item 5 days before he died.
  4. We were very happy with the Marietta Eye Clinic in Powder Springs by the EW Connector. Just picked up my new glasses today (bifocals for the first time!!). They have an office in Douglasville which is closer to us and at least one of the docs in the PS office works there as well. Good luck!
  5. I had to renew my driver's license in May and called to see where the Paulding one was. I ended up calling the tag office thinking it would be near there and the lady I spoke with said late this year or early next on the driver's license office.
  6. I thought the PCSD did a great job with the traffic at PCHS last night. My daughter had to attend as she was singing with the chorus and it was so easy to get in and out of the school at the drop off and pick up. Congratulations to all the graduates!
  7. How would anyone know what you're basing your comments on? Are you someone we should know? follow? I don't need to smarten up "Lucky" as there was nothing stupid about what I said. You should go back and reread what you wrote.
  8. Ours was just under two weeks and was projected to be about 4-5. State was a couple days after federal.
  9. Are you kidding me? The criminals (at least one from Dallas, GA by the way) were fleeing from Villa Rica and stupidly decided a school zone was a good place to end their journey. This could have happened anywhere. All three of those schools on lock down are good schools with good teachers with parent support. What's down hill about this area that hasn't happened in this economy in other areas? WOW!!
  10. Loved it!! Binged on Season 1 over Labor Day weekend and Season 2 I watched on President's Day. :-) Love Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright. All the characters are well cast. Love that it's on netflix.com.
  11. Tonight my son stepped on (don't ask!) his chromebook screen and damaged it. We went on the acer site and it would cost $199 to repair/replace. That was what the thing cost!!! Anyone have any ideas how I can repair the screen cheaper? Thanks.
  12. How funny we just got our 11 year old The Boy's Body Book and Just for Boys. I like the first one. He will have nothing to do with them right now...it's funny! I figure they are here when he's ready.
  13. Please vote....that Rhode Island house is surging....only 245 votes separate the two finalists. Felix Family we're rooting you on, voting, and sharing on facebook.
  14. Voted!!! Let's keep this at the top if we can. The other band/school is huge. SPHS needs all the votes they can get. The video is adorable...made by an 11th grader!! Go SPHS and Paulding County, Georgia. Let's support the kids!
  15. Today's the last day. Good luck Paulding County because it is our school system, not the Felix Family, who wins or loses tonight. Thank you Felix Family for your Christmas cheer and beautiful house that you share with us.
  16. Another neat place you might like that's in Douglasville, (make a right at the RR tracks at Hwy 92/Bankhead Hwy and you're there!) is Fabiano's Pizza. They make good NY pizza and serve Italian food as well. We only go for the pizza. On Wednesdays they've been running a special, Large pizza and large salad or bread and 4 drinks for $20. Can't beat that even if you go just as a couple. Enjoy all the new places people have been telling you about. I've learned a few things myself and I've lived here 21 years!
  17. Main Moon on Hwy 92/Sweetwater Church Road going toward Douglasville is where we've been getting our takeout for 14 years. I think they've recently changed owners or something but the food is still good and they're very nice.
  18. Welcome to GA. I grew up in NY (LI) for my first 13 years. There is a Provinos in Douglasville across from Target on Chapel Hill Road. It's very good. There is a good bagel shop down there too behind the McDonald's and Starbucks.
  19. sounds yummy! We are having Baked Ziti that my 9 year old is making and a nice salad.
  20. HATE Wells Fargo. I too have been with them since the First Union days and I'm dropping them as soon as my husband can get his paycheck moved over to our new bank, DC Bank in Douglasville. Love them and their service. It's easy for me to go to the ones in D'ville on the way home, but I've heard there is one in Hiram too. I just don't know where it is.
  21. redfin.com is good. There are a couple of nice ones in Abbington (south Paulding) right now. One is listed at $79,900, the biggest house in the n'hood. It's on Laurel Way if you're interested.
  22. That's too bad, a couple of bad experiences would certainly sour you. We still enjoy it and haven't had any problems. We got takeout there last Sunday and it was good.
  23. Don't know where that is, but we like Main Moon at the corner of 92 and Brownsville Road. We've been going there for takeout for 13+ years. I think it's changed hands at least once, but still the best Chinese we've had in the area.
  24. I am so very sorry. He and you are in my prayers.
