  2. Just to add confusion the middle mouse button, on your mouse-wheel if it does indeed push in to click, always opens links in a new tab. Shift + Left Click opens in a new browser window.

  4. To totally post off topic as well: Walmart promotes companies competing against themselves by creating store brands for Walmart. You want 3 whole freezers of "Your Brand" Pizza you better make one they can slap "great value" on that they can undercut yours with to receive those spaces in their store. Then, eventually, either Walmart phases your brand out over time becuase your brand isn't selling, or they cut a deal with another maker and regulate you to bottom shelf. This is pretty much insanity in the retail space since it promotes all brands racing to the bottom in price and qualit

  6. Never heard of them before now, looked at them and you can only get them through specialty appliance stores. Even they make 2 front loading Energy Star models. But personally, I want the one the spouse would have to stick quarters in to use.
  7. I really thought I would hate them too, but when the choice was HE top loaders vs. front loaders, I went with the front and wasn't extremely disappointed. Don't mean to imply they are better than the old school top loaders, they're not. But for everyone else, good luck, as the guy was showing me, the newer washers with agitators, well look how tall the agitator is? Yeah it's like half the height of the older ones. And the water only comes up near the top of the agitator. But my thing is, all around new washing machines are screwed up, royally. Just saying manufacturers have realiz
  8. I don't mind it so much, don't really think about what it's about, I just find it difficult to get drunk and throw down to gospel music and/or christian rock.
  9. While there are all sorts of problems with the rules, I'm on the fence about them. When you take a washer that holds 16 gallons of water per wash and cut it down to 8 gallons, and multiply that by all the washers in the world, the water savings are ASTRONOMICAL. But that's on paper, and as is often the case real life doesn't reflect neat and tidy numbers where the new washers are being used twice as often as the old.
  10. Had a long discussion with a Lowe's appliance salesman earlier this year, who was a previously a home repair tech for sears who related to me that full filling top loader washers are a thing of the past unless you buy specialty. The EPA rules on these top loaders are for them to use hardly any water and to toss the clothes around to clean them rather than fill fully with water and agitate. The front loaders are looking like the better choice, but really only the more recent ones, as the earlier models were very deficient in some ways. Picked up a clearance model Frigidaire branded front l
  11. While there are deals to be had it's looking more like BF has become a day for retailers to unload junk at bottom prices so folks snap it up without comparison shopping. Better deals to be had on the things you want right before and after Xmas IMO.

  16. I like Chrome but am stuck on using Firefox, was there for the early dev of it, when it was Firebird, and worked on a few addons for it in the past which are defunct after the constant updating. I'm just getting set in my ways, but I do find myself using Chrome as an alternative on the Desktop, and I use it on my smartphone also. And only use IE for specific legacy web stuff.
  17. I'll poll troll this. Okay and comment too, I use my smartphone when shopping to mainly look up barcodes vs. QR codes. QR codes are good idea but I find myself hardly ever using them unless I scan one off my monitor to install an Android app. BTW, you get all sorts of odd looks scanning codes in the store. But I do it as a form of price checking or looking up reviews and/or similar items. But as noted, QR codes are a great way of not having to actively search for something via your phone or use a web address, you just scan and go.

  19. Considering their first production was a roadster that sold for around $110k per car, and almost all the cars were paid for before even being produced, plus the new car is only planned for a 20,000 vehicle production run, I'd say they're not after most of the car buyers around the world. BTW their roadsters have sold out each production run. A business model such as this pushes out top dollar models in order to subsidize the price of the technology going into them. Over time each successive model will have larger production runs and be cheaper in cost. The Model S is intended to comp
  20. I've kept up with the Tesla cars since their first designs were appearing online. These cars are a hellacious feat of engineering especially considering the maximum mileage you can get out of one. They've worked with laptop battery makers to help innovate battery technology and methods of charging them. Have to realize these cars are very limited production and aren't for you and I, the folks who can afford these vehicles will have no problems getting proper charging stations installed into their homes. And frankly most folks don't even drive near the maximum mileage these cars can provid

  22. From everything I've come across Marijuana is an extremely mild hallucinogenic. This should not be confused with hallucinogens where folks lose all perceptions and see things. It's more a mood altering drug than anything, but falls under the hallucinogenic class because of pupil dilation and very mild perception changes. First time use will have the strongest effect on a person, as in first time in their life ever. After that, depending on the persons body/brain chemistry, a person will become "used" to the effects over time and there will be no issues with retaining all cognitive functio
