DISLIKE I figured it was something like this. 11Alive has a scrolling list of Winter Weather Advisory counties at the top of its page, first time I saw it I didn't see the Winter Weather Advisory part and got ALL excited!

Well, I doubt this superintendent would lower himself to such a menial task! It's going to have to be icy in EAST Cobb for them to call school...and there is ice in Powder Springs, the intersection of CH James & Sailors Parkway is being salted now. Fairground Road in Marietta is closed, as are stretches of Callaway & Austell Roads, and some lanes of South Cobb Drive. The cops are so busy that if there is a wreck, unless there is an injury or the vehicles are undriveable, they are telling to people to exchange information & make a report at a precinct later.

I guess I would, too, if I weren't one of those whose hopes were so cruelly shattered

Well if 2 different people hadn't posted the same erroneous information early in the thread, raising & then shattering the hopes of countless Cobb County school employees, the thread would have died already I never even saw that...Heck, if I hadn't by chance walked into the main office after school and heard the secretary on the phone with a parent, I wouldn't have known that all after school activities had to be concluded by 6:00. And I WORK there!

There was a "Cobb County Christian School" listed earlier, as being closed today, but it is no longer there. Could that have been what you saw?

What list are you looking at? The one I see does not have Cobb County Schools on it.

Oh don't even get me started on why Cobb is so proud that it now has Twitter, when you can't access Twitter from any computer using a county server! You would think Fred would have learned his lesson after the fiasco in September...and being that the ice on the roads is only going to get worse, wouldn't it be considerate of them to go ahead and let parents know NOW so they can make arrangements for tomorrow? Maybe there is a sneak attack heat wave on the way only they know about, and all the ice will be dried up by morning

People go nuts & in a frenzy looking for the "perfect gift", but nothing on any store shelf comes close to the feeling when you give or get a gift like this

Normally I am asleep long before the clock strikes twelve, but since I am with the family in Savannah I will finally get to attend the big ol' oyster roast my brother hosts on the dock every year. Of course, I'll be the sober one, since I am the DD for my MOM & her boyfriend, they are going to a party downtown, so I am dropping them off & picking them up. Can I just tell you how weird it feels to be the DD for my MOM?????
