  1. Yep it makes for a very incestuous relationship..
  2. When the AA and IBA were created by law it specifies specifically who can be on the Board including the Commission Chairman, Mayors of Hiram and Dallas, and Chamber of Commerce rep. Other members are appointed by BOC...
  3. The million dollar question is based on what has been presented here- how is Propeller going to recoup its money and return an adequate amount of return to its investors???? The County will make money off of taxes, landing fees, % of gas sales.... The Propeller site gives little information on previous projects. One tidbit it did show Brett Smith has ties to Hong Kong via having worked for Asia Times which is headquartered there.
  4. The ability to make this deal profitable to Propeller given what has been disclosed thus far doesn't pass muster to me. I think there is more in the works. Accessibility to the site is still a concern- is the toll road back in play? Also it seems to me that Atlanta may be postering, if this thing takes off- Paulding will need to acquire more land and City of Atlanta owns most of the surrounding land. The value of the City of Atlanta's land becomes a lot more valuable. A huge win for them. It also makes me wonder if they are trying to obtain a JV partnership to buy and ultimately develop t
  5. LOL! But hey since were p*ssing out debt in Paulding County might at as well p*ss out some more for this and God knows what else is in the pipeline. LOL!
  6. Yep, what do you expect when one of the "boys" even dressed up as Boss Hogg.... Lol!!
  7. We're on the projectory to being Clayton Co. 2.0 based on our housing stock, airport expansion seals the deal as far as I am concerned....
  8. Just ask yourself why 1/2 the AA wasn't at the meeting yesterday and was in Hong Kong? Hong Kong and Singapore are the home to large hedge funds... I think the airport has the potential with Asian investment $$ to be another Chicago Midway or Houston Hobby.
  9. Apparently Delta is now saying they will oppose Paulding Airport's plans. Again let the market decide. I am so tired of monopolies...
  10. As much as I dislike this airport due to the negative impact to some close friends of mine-- this is none of Atlanta's ### #### business. Atlanta is overdue for a second airport, even though I am down off 61 S that might be a tad bit too comfortable for me if it gets to something along the lines of Houston's Hobby.. Again none of Atlanta's business. Let the market decide if its wants an alternative to Hartsfield..
  11. I would like for it to be disclosed the % the vendor is paying the school. I would suggest a placing an open records request for the RFP for the selection of some of these vendors. I would be interested to know if the school or vendor is as shady in the case of the gowns for example to require a slightly different gown, cap tassel etc. so that they cannot be bought, borrowed from someone the previous year. The biggest lesson ya'll can teach your kids is to just say NO.. These companies are ripping you off-- talk to your kids have them boycott these vendors and send a message. Kids
  12. Buy the version 8 for cheap and compare to version 9 with classmate..
  13. LOL, I enjoyed our visit this summer. I'd love to sip some wine and chat about how Paulding is going the way of Clayton County..
  14. These grill well too. I don't care for baking them in the oven-- always too dry.
  15. I buy these all the time and I cook mine in the crock pot and I add enough water and a couple of table spoons chicken base or broth to cover chicken 1/2 way and whatever seasoning-- rosemary, garlic herb, etc.
  16. This spring/summer there was a lot of buzz about a company called Interroll that was supposed to be locating in a to be developed business park on Bill Carruth Pkwy. I have seen no construction on Bill Carruth and have heard nothing since. Did this deal fall thru?
  17. I would try the 7th day adventists. My limited understanding of the denomination is that vegetarianism is promoted among members. There is one in downtown Hiram.
  18. Bought a box yesterday at Food Depot.
  19. So why is the football team allowed to charter a bus? Who is paying for this? Why can't the band boosters rent buses so they can arrive earlier? Or maybe the band boosters should grow some balls and stand up to the admin.. tell 'em the band ain't going...
  20. VegetarianPumpkin Chili Core and quarter one small pumpkin and roast until soft on a baking sheet. Remove skin from pumkin flesh. Puree pumkin in blender or food processor. Pureed pumpkin Chicken broth, water Chili powder to taste 2 cans drained black beans 2 cans drained cannelini beans 2 cans chili ready tomatoes 1 onion chopped Tabasco sauce to taste. 21. My MIL wanted to give us her time share which was one week every other year in Orlando. The yearly maintenance fee was 800. We went to Orlando last month and stayed in a time share resort and went to the sales presentation. Marriott's system is where you buy so many points per year, but it is tied to a physical location and sized unit (for tax deduction purposes) and your fees are based on your location. All were 700 bucks or more a year and the minumum cost I think for what amounted to close to an every other year vacation set up was around 20K.. The place we stayed was a gorgeous
  22. I tried one of those and my experience is the dog has to be very close for it to work. Our yard is sloped so it didn't work well on our dogs so I took it back. I'm going to get a bark collar. If you find the dog at the fence line barking all the time it might work. You can get one at PetSmart and put it out and try it. Save the receipt and original packaging and if it doesn't work you can take it back and get your money back. You've got I believe 30 days. The things are kind of a pain to program the timer--
  23. They are optimistic that since the election is over the R's will put partisanship aside and start to fix the wrongs in this Country and getting people off food stamps and back to work..
  24. I have spoken to three of my female friends who voted for Obama, none of which are on gov't handouts and they are the most optimistic they have ever been about the future of the country. Maybe this will translate into increased consumer confidence..
