  1. I did my own research. Lou Gehrig was diagnosed with ALS in the 1930s. Polio was made available in 1952. Measles/Mumps/Rubella as a triad made available in 1960s. Rubella alone in 1959. Measles alone in 19623. Mumps alone in 1949. How could a vaccine cause ALS? There were no vaccines before polio except Smallpox. It is not known if he took a smallpox vaccine.
  2. I'm sorry. Blueberries are already gone. Peaches didn't do well this year either. I think it's the heat. The berry bushes didn't put on as many this year. Then the peaches were ripening on the outside faster than the inside so alot of them were mush. I think it's okay that this topic was hijacked since no one was hurt in the accident. As for blueberries and peaches - they're gone. Neither did well in the summer heat this year....
  3. Gem Man 86 just called. Said he got home just fine coming in from McClung. He said they were clearing things up now and should be done by 5.
  4. I live next door. Is anyone hurt? FIL went down there to see. Couldn't get close enough. This accident is between Phillips Lee and BC. The problem is that if they have the road blocked at McClung, we won't be getting home anytime soon since they aren't letting cars by from the other direction either.....
  5. The intersection of HS and BC is bad, and so is the turn to McClung Road off HS. More deaths/accidents happen there, I think, than anywhere on the road.....
  6. How can it be blocking Hiram Sudie if it's between BC and 278? BC connects both 278 and HS.
  7. To Rita and Mark (who I know from way back) and the rest of the family, you have my condolences. May he rest in peace. Joann Rumbold Redmond
  8. Don't be so heavenly minded that you are no earthly good. Stole the above statement for my signature. LOVE IT! Thanks Feelip!
  9. Here's the thing...I didn't read that he is bitter because people pray for him and his wife. I read that these same people are nowhere around when they physically need them. The ones who are physically there happen to not believe in God. It is very difficult to believe in a god who takes our loved ones away. I think those that do are only doing it because they have to believe in something. They have to have something to lean on when they are so distraught. Then, they figure, as time passes and they begin to move on, god must have gotten them through it, so they lean on him more. Te
  10. Will the local Boys & Girls Club be there as well? They should be there as they are a good alternative to the streets.
  11. Does anyone know if this is still an issue at almost 5 pm? I will be in the area on a bus (so I don't have a choice about direction). I will come westbound and veer right off the interstate towards Hiram (away from the Walmart). Is there still a traffic issue? You know how it can get congested everywhere - even where it shouldn't....
  12. Did you get that outta my signature???
  13. But you cannot influence the gay out of a child. Do we agree on that? I think that if a child is raised with good morals and taught to respect people, that child will grow to be a very nice person to be around. But, then, you can have a child brought up in that environment grow up and rob a liquor store - or beat a clerk to death with a paint can for a few bucks. It's genes, I tell you!
  14. Finally, we agree. Whew! I think we were saying the same thing but in our own way. Sometimes I'm not clear enough. But you said it just right. Thank you.
  15. I don't understand. I am not judging. I have four children (3 boys, 1 girl) and they all played with dolls, cars, trains, climbed trees, etc. Our daughter gets married to a man in 2 weeks, one of our boys is married to a woman and expecting our first grandchild, one of our boys is still looking for his significant other (female), and our oldest is in a longterm relationship with a wonderful young man (I say young because he's younger than me and I'm over 50). What toys a child plays with is not a problem. I'm just saying that some little boys are drawn to the dolls or nailpolish more stro
  16. So you were just testing the waters, huh? I apologize for coming on so strongly in my previous post. I hope you understand this is a touchy subject for me (as it is for others).
  17. I agree with this statement on face value. I choose to have sex with my husband and I do not choose to have sex with the mailman. However, my son did not choose to be gay. So, with that in mind, I'm sure he chooses to have a relationship with his partner but not with the guy who runs the taco store. He would never even consider having a sexual relationship with a woman. Because he's not heterosexual.
  18. How do you explain the little boys in kindergarten who would prefer playing with baby dolls over tonka trucks? How do you explain the little girls who would rather hunt and fish than get all dolled up in dresses? How do you explain little boys who are effeminate in their ways? You know what I'm talking about. A child of 5 or 6 does not make any choice of this magnitude. That's because it's not a choice. It's in their genes. Just as you are heterosexual. If you go all the way back to before a baby is born, the baby is not even physically a boy or girl until midway through. That's b
  19. You're kidding! You did NOT just say that....Gays do not victimize their children. Yes, I'm sure there are a few gay parents who are terrible parents - meaning they are neglectful or mean or abusive. But that has nothing to do with them being GAY. It has to do with them being terrible parents. My mother is not gay. But to say she should get the mother of the year award is blasphemy. Therefore, heterosexuals and gays can both be good parents and bad parents. It's how you're brought up to be - the Nurture part of growing up. I'm probably going to have to get off this topic. It's re
  20. Oh, you have it all messed up....It is not a choice. It is not a sickness. It is not a birth defect. It is genetic. Just as you are black or white, blonde or brunette, mildly intelligent or a moron. Well said.
  21. Please crawl back under the rock you came from. I don't know you personally. And, now, I hope we never meet. OMG! Being gay is NOT a sin. It is genetically predetermined. Until someone can "figure" out a way to change the chromosome that determines sexuality, we will be blessed with our special children. I have a gay son. He was so troubled during his teen years and could not be truly himself until he left Paulding County. He is so happy now. He has matured into a wonderful young man, a man of pride and determination to make his life a full one. He has a partner of 4 years and I lov
  22. How's the wedding plans going? Just curious... Haven't heard anything new and hoping you were able to get a dress, etc. Good luck!
  23. He can have whatever he wants - EXCEPT very cold drinks, very hot drinks - and NO STRAWS!
  24. I totally agree. I've worked for two dentists. Only one was crazy enough to try it and I already told that story here. So, I cannot stress strong enough the oral surgeon route.
