  1. You just might. I think we should vote on it......
  2. You don't want the dentist to get in there and not be able to get them out. Then, he'll have to either stop or take drastic measures. I say drastic, because I once worked for a dentist who thought he could pull a wisdom tooth. He had to get in the chair with the patient so he could get a better grip on the tooth with the plier things. Now, I hadn't been working there very long and was just supposed to be handing him things as he needed them. This horrified me. I remember this as if it was yesterday and it was over 20 yrs ago. Dentists clean your teeth and extract any tooth EXCEPT wisdom
  3. I texted my daughter. I'm at work and can't see it. She may remember. Also, I have access to gowns (burgundy) but they are larger. I'm thinking for the bridesmaids if you need them. I wore them (I wore one as mother of the groom, and one as matron of honor). Both are around size 16. Oh, my daughter just texted me. She said the gown is a 4....It has a medium train, is white, and has the thing that goes up under it to fill it out. If you are interested in it, you can have it. I believe I have the pearl covered veil too. She is not one to keep things and I just couldn't throw it o
  4. I have our daughter's wedding gown at my house. Beautiful David's Bridal gown. What size does she wear? Does she want to see it? also, I used flowers from Kroger. They made her bouquet, and all the flowers for the wedding. We spent about $1,000 total including food. Got it from restaurants, and the grocery, and Publix did the cake.
  5. that's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure if it was okay for an evening wedding. I don't want to look under-dressed. But the crochet look is what I was thinking since the dress is jersey. I just could not picture satin or anything lacey with this.
  6. I'm wearing a jersey knit formal v-neck with wide straps to my daughter's wedding in July. What kind of wrap/jacket should I wear? What kind of material could it be? Thanks in advance....
  7. Does it explain my issue with his statements?
  8. Well, I didn't mean to pick on Michael James. I saw his banner at the top of the website and it irked me.....I don't know what others stand for. I just don't understand the wishy-washy beliefs. Against same sex marriage but for upholding individual rights regardless of orientation. Doesn't make sense. I guess if there is someone out there who can explain the statement - maybe Mr. James - that would be nice. I won't vote for him, but I'm sure people would like to hear his thoughts - or anyone's thoughts on this particular matter...... Yep! You are so right, LR!!
  9. DISCLAIMER: I'm a diehard Democrat.... But my question is how can this person be Issues – My Positions Against Same Sex Marriage but be FOR Strong Government with regards to protecting Individual Rights, regardless of Religious Beliefs, Color, or Sexual Orientation ???????????? If a heterosexual couple has the "right" to marry, then a same-sex couple has the "right" to marry. We are all individuals regardless of religious beliefs, color, or sexual orientation. He seems to be sitting on the fence here.... Just sayin.....
  10. for item #3. You are so right, my friend! But it is also not thirty some-odd years ago either and that's when I was up north. I'm not a mean person and I don't want to sound like I'm jumping on you, because I'm not. I just don't understand the southern mentality sometimes.....how it's okay to shoot a gun any old time...Wait, let me take that back...it's not just southerners....it's alot of people who use guns. Celebratory gunfire is also not a good idea - what goes up must and will come down - but its done worldwide....I just don't get it.........
  11. That's what's wrong with the world now. There's no consideration for your neighbor. I used to know every single one of my neighbors when I lived up north. I don't know any of the ones around me now except our family. I've never met the neighbors. I've lived here 30 yrs and never met them....That is so sad....and that's why we don't care about them, because they really aren't there if we've never met them.....we are all selfish in that we only want to take care of our own. I worry about the people shooting in their back yards.. What if a bullet ricochets? What if they are aiming at our ho
  12. I don't think so. Mustang is off 61, right? We're on the other end of Hiram Sudie.
  13. My husband said it was definitely an automatic. There was not enough reload time between the shots. Um, yeah....try thinking about the people close by sitting in their nice peaceful front yards taking a nap....then BANG BANG BANG!....Or the woman trying to get her child to sleep during the spring time so she has the windows open...then BANG! or the daysleeper who works all night and tries to sleep through the BANG BANG! I think people who do the shooting just have no consideration for the people around them.
  14. This is what I thought....thank you.
  15. Ok. Anyone know the laws on owning a gun that fires rapidly? I am not a gun person at all, so pardon the wording. I'm talking about machine gun fire, ak47 gunfire. 10 shots in fast repetition. I live on Hiram Sudie Road....it's all residential. I think the gunfire is actually coming from behind us on Davis Mill....Not sure. But what are the laws regarding owning/firing one of these things???
  16. I did that. I was getting some stranger's collection calls on my cell phone. I was tired of telling them I didn't know the person. So, I asked who was speaking...They told me. I asked what it was in reference to...they said they could not discuss with anyone except X. I said that if they were calling MY phone number, they could discuss it with me or leave me alone. they stopped calling....
  17. DISCLAIMER: I'm not Republican. Why does candidate #1 sound like he's got food in his mouth or his tongue is really fat? I had a hard time understanding some of what he said - and it had nothing to do with the sound quality, Pubby....
  18. Not to mention, your house may be just too darn far from the siren to hear it. And now that it's summer and our air conditioners are running, you wouldn't hear a freight train come down the driveway unless you were already up. Weather radios, people!!
  19. Oh, I agree Momof3. If she's ABLE to do and just doesn't want to, it would be okay for the kids to charge her for stuff. I think that alot of what is on her list, however, is going over the top. I don't think those items fall under normal housekeeping. The outside work and the inside work are two separate things. Now, based on my experience, my grandparents would always tell me that they would rather pay my children to do something than to pay a stranger. With that thought in mind, mom should be paying the kids exactly what she would pay an outside vendor to do the work. And....$50 doesn
  20. I don't know, people....what happened to just watching the television for updates or looking at your phones for the weather? We don't hear any sirens except the ambulances, police, and fire when they pass. I don't even think Hiram has an emergency siren like that. If you're worried about being asleep and a storm coming through, turn on your weather radio and set it to alert you. Just sayin.....
  21. So sorry for your loss. What high school did he attend?
