  1. ha ha! I realize grandsons come in all age brackets. But when I saw this posted, I automatically thought little guy - not an adult. Not that anyone asked my opinion or anything, but I think it's just a really bad idea to get a little one a cake shaped like a gun. Just like I wouldn't (and didn't) let them have guns to play with (except water guns - and only the little cheapy ones you have to fill up every 2 seconds).
  2. I don't know. I'm wondering how old your grandson is that you would make a cake in the shape of a shotgun?
  3. I think we're going to get an early Fall. The red/brown spiders are making their webs around the eaves of the house already. WE NEVER see them until the fall. Next will be the writing spiders.
  4. He's definitely younger than I thought. But when I looked at his FB page, I noticed several others who have mug shots. Also, alot of the girls already have children. I am always drawn to pictures of multiples (me being a mom of triplets plus 1). I saw one girl who's profile picture is her twins. I clicked on it, and saw where she is trying to get her babies back. Good grief!! These kids all need alot of help. They are so troubled. At least they seem that way. And if "Nate" is homeless, why won't some of his 400+ buddies put him up for awhile? That might keep him from wandering around
  5. And he might be wearing pink sunglasses..... Seriously.
  6. You finish the book by starting it to begin with. If you want it bad enough, you will at least start. To do this, I would get the DNA testing. You can use the site mentioned earlier in a text or use Ancestry.com. They are both $99. But with Ancestry, once the DNA results come back you also get a continuously updated listing of possible matches in their database. As people continue to submit DNA, the probability of you hitting on a match gets closer and closer.
  7. If your birth father is over the age of 70, then the census records are accessible with him listed. Maybe he wasn't immediately put up for adoption. Maybe his birth parents kept him long enough for the census guy to come by and count him. Then, he'd be on a record with his blood parents listed. Don't give up sooo easily. There are ways to do this. Also, if he is dead, you can probably get the adoption records unsealed. PM me if you need help, or have questions.
  8. If you still have older members in your family, and you speak with them, be sure to record your conversations. It's easier to go back and listen later. Also, you'll have their voices forever. Ask them about their childhoods, memories of their parents and siblings. Any tramautic events. Their thoughts about inventions along the way, ie. the car. Loosen them up by asking them about the prices of things when they were younger. Their first home, where they lived as children, any vacations they took.
  9. Ancestry.com has a 14 day trial going on. If you're not happy or can't afford it, be sure to set a reminder on your phone or something to cancel the subscription. It is kinda expensive, but I have learned sooo very much. You can start there. Or if you know you're family has been in Paulding County for awhile, try the courthouse. They have archives there of marriage licenses, death notices, etc. Also, the Dallas New Era. A long time ago, the newspapers would post little articles about the social happenings of people in the area. That said, read everything carefully. You will see na
  10. I completely disagree with this. They uncover all sorts of things. It's really up to the person being researched as to what gets aired. I know that next week, Christina Applegate finds out that her paternal grandmother was beaten near to death by Christina's paternal grandfather. This is all brought forth because Christina wants her father to know the truth about his family (he has always wanted to know and now has the chance).
  11. I saw that program. I believe she meant the "right side" meant that he was fighting for the freedom of the slaves. If you've never see the show before, my advice is to continue watching. I have found it extremely fascinating and uplifting. And, honestly, it has helped me with my family search because it has given me ideas on where to search. Keep watching.
  12. Who's Jerry Wheeler? Is that the poor man who was murdered? So? He's a white guy. This is not about race. This is about a crazy woman who thinks God is going to take care of her. HA! She needs psychiatric help WITHIN the jail system. I mean, who smiles for their mug shot? I have not said that I think she is innocent or whatever. I think this is a case of a crazy lady doing her thing. Yes, a very bad thing. But she's crazy. It has NOTHING to do with the fact that she's black and he's white. What if was reversed? What if a crazy white lady killed an old black man? It's STILL AL
  13. Seriously? Why would you want to start something? You're being mean. Obama has nothing to do with this. This is strictly between this stupid woman and the 66 yr old man. You KNOW the news will never tell the entire story. And where was it said that the man was white? Unless we know for sure, we shouldn't assume anything.
  14. I KNOW you're kidding! The Rakestraws/Hardy's don't need anymore money. They own half the dang county. Do you remember our graduating class? Nearly everyone was a Ragsdale, Aiken, Rakestraw, or Hardy - or related to them somehow - except US! Whoo hoo! WE ARE SPECIAL, GIRL!
  15. Okay. Now THAT is a stupid remark. There will always be a white race. There will always be races of all sorts. Everyone is created equal. It's living in society with bigots that divides us. I agree. The same goes for network news. They have 15 seconds to get a story across. You never hear the ENTIRE story. Or you get some of it and by the time you get the rest of the story, it's old news. I don't watch the news every night, so I miss most everything.
  16. WHAT? WHAT? "Political control of the nation"???? As opposed to Religious control of the nation?? OMFG!!! Yep. You read that right. I take offense to your statement. Do NOT presume that I am an idiot. I care that children are being slaughtered in the streets. I care, whether they are innocent bystanders or crack heads. Dying is dying in my book. Back the hell up, Stonewall!!
  17. Well, I live in Hiram. And there is a venue over here owned by a woman with political ties. She got this wedding/party venue approved smack in the middle of a residential area. So, in the summer, we cannot open our windows in the evening because they are partying it up behind us. Seriously, I can understand what is being said by the people on the microphones. With that said, it would be REALLY nice to have some other venue set up in a commercial area - with little or no residences around - for parties, concerts, weddings, etc. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to put this lady out of business.
  18. I have not had surgery (although, I know it sounds bad, but I wish I was big enough to have it). It would be sooo much easier to lose this weight. But my cousin started me on this other stuff.....LOTS CHEAPER than the weight loss programs advertised. I started on Zija. Google it. It's actually a nutrition drink. Now, I JUST started it on Saturday, July 6. But I've lost 4 lbs so far. Probably alot of water weight, but I'll take it! The theory is that by drinking the Zija plant, you nourish your body with all of the nutrients it needs. Your body has what it needs so it doesn't "want
  19. I've noticed - and I read each one of the responses here - that every single one of the negative responses had no reasons why they were against it. Other than the noise coming from sources OUTSIDE of the venue, what's the problem??? Raccoon Creek is strictly Bluegrass and it's a private venue. I would love to see a Mablehouse Theater come our way. It's small, it's very intimate. They could have season seats, and everything. I'm all for it.
  20. I'm probably going to get yelled at or called on the carpet, or whatever. But I've noticed that nearly every topic on the wall is put there to invoke anger or frustration. Why? Anyone willing to post a really GOOD story? I know the one about Tripp Halstead is out there. But geez! Anything else? Anyone do anything nice? Anyone find a feel-good story on the news? Post it here! I really want to hear some GOOD things! Thank you. Off my soapbox now....
  21. Not sure what you mean, Postman! Sounds like he takes care of his wife. I'll just bet they have a wonderful marriage due to mutual respect for each other. I hear in his voice in the undertones that he truly loves his wife.
  22. "what goes around comes around." I swear by this! It's in my signature!
  23. Disagree. Big freakin' difference! Revoked means it was TAKEN from them. LAPSED means they LET them go. It just means they are not practicing attorneys currently because they are in the freakin' white house! Dang! I'm sure that if they want to, they can reapply for their licenses once out of the WH. You people are enough to drive me to drink! Oh, and if it's on the Internet, it's true, right? Like everything in the newspapers and on the TV?
  24. Well, he wouldn't be far off! Remember in HS? Everyone thought we were sisters! People commented so much we just ran with it! Love you! So.....I'm not married in Nebraska but I'm married in GA? Interesting. And you can marry heterosexually in any of the 50 states AND get a divorce in Nevada. And you can marry in Nevada and still be married when you fly back home to Hawaii?? Hmm....I think you need to clarify.
  25. "Let them live and let live in their perverted anything goes world but make no mistake about it, if they get in my face flaunting their perversions, there will be blood." Doesn't really matter how the blood appears....just the fact that you're threatening to spill it is damning enough. The bullet you are referring to was actually referring to Pubby and the site admins sending Jenilyn a bullet for her comment. And, you are correct that you did not mention religion. There are so many stupid comments flying around, I got you mixed up with DieHard. (Which, btw, I find it interesting h
