  1. I have no idea how someone who is high could ever get past the logic puzzles on the SAT.
  2. Do you think the real pluralization of "Jelly Belly" is "Jelly Bellies"? I spelled it like I did earlier, because every time I've seen it pluralized from the Jelly Belly folks, they've used "Jelly Bellys." Just curious. Is it "Bellys" or "Bellies"? And I don't mean grammatically, I mean how THEY spell it...
  3. My guess: the same person invented the buttered popcorn flavored jelly bean.
  4. My husband is working out of state, and knowing my love of Jelly Bellys, he called to make sure I was watching that episode. It was waaaaaay !!!
  5. I ADORE Jelly Bellys. But I bought a mixed flavor bag...and there's the buttered popcorn ones mixed in with SUCH GOOD flavors...it seems a bit evil to me. Those, and the bubble gum flavor. If I want bubble gum, I'll buy bubble gum. I don't want it in my jelly bean.
  6. But that person should not be in charge of jelly bean flavor production.
  7. Mine DID GO to the one in question and graduated with top honors. And I haven't noticed ANY Marxist tendencies since she graduated.
  8. The point is...you raise your children in what you believe. But you respect that, once they become ADULTS in the eyes of the law, they are free to make their own decisions. And you trust what you taught them. I choose to trust what I taught my children and...to accept and love them for who they are no matter what they choose. Once they are grown, what they choose is their own. Along with any benefits or consequences that come from their choice. I would never presume to tell YOU what you must believe, and I don;t know you that well. Why would I presume to tell people I love and
  9. If any child of mine REALLY wanted to go there, I would have no problem sending him or her. Since you asked and all.
  10. I saw it last night. It was a good show! I am so happy to see an active community theater here, and I am especially happy to see it include a children's theater! Life-long love of theater starts when kids are young! The performers had such a good time presenting their show, and the kids in the audience loved seeing kids on the stage. Win-win! KUDOS Dallas Theater! You ROCK!!
  11. I can't wait!! LOVE this show!
  12. My family had a wonderful day today at the GA Aquarium. Thank you so much!! And I might need to stop back by sometime just to talk and get me a Saban fix!! He's too cute for words!
  13. I trust my kids. And I believe that having them understand that their view isn't the ONLY view is valuable in enabling them to advocate their own beliefs. I am not afraid of them knowing that others hold different beliefs. I wouldn't consider them very "well-educated" if all they ever experienced was people who agree with them. I think it's a personal choice when people elect not to expose their ADULT CHILDREN to ideas that might offend their precious sensibilities. I also think they're raising their children in an academic bubble that the real world will not only pop but completely su
  14. Happy Birthday, Finnegan!! Congrats!
  15. Why on Earth would anyone give you a negative for posting this? I'm following the news on this this morning. It's disturbing.
  16. Sorry to hear you had a bad night. I relatively sure this announcement isn't directed at me. But I'll apologize anyway just in case.
  17. I'm making little slider cheeseburgers on the grill with all the fixins and serving them with tater tots on the side.
  18. I may not agree with the president, but I'm not going to quit my country because of it.
  19. I read the fist page of comments and about a quarter of the second page, and then I just had to STOP. The ignorance was painful. I taught at the university level for over 10 years. Obviously to get to the place where I could teach at the university level for 10+ years, I had to spend a LOT of time in university classrooms. By and large, the agenda promoted at many if not most universities for the last 20+ years is decidedly LIBERAL. However, those who decide not to send your child to this or that institution because the provost once published something that could be called "Marxist
  20. I agree! I would also escalate this to the principle. I wouldn't want to see the boy "punished," per say, but he needs to know that there are boundaries, and he crossed a big one. At that age, I would guess he's mimicking behavior he admires. Whether it's an adult figure, an older sibling, or MTV...that part isn't as important as helping this young fella to understand that it's rude and demeaning to treat people this way. I'd be at the principle's office as much out of concern for my daughter as for the attitude of this young boy. It's not healthy for a kid to express that
  21. Casey!! I can't imagine he's not through...but if he can't get on top of this, he can't do this job.
