I LOVED Heart. And I HATED that performance.

They can't have it both ways. Separation of church and state should be carried all the way through. Sunday is a day of the week just like Wednesday is. I would never ask a Baptist to buy a drink on Sunday. But that same Baptist shouldn't try to prohibit me from buying one based on HIS religious beliefs. It's an antiquated law, and it needs to be gone.

If You Care About Your Children's Education

I finished in 2001, and I have been consistently employed. Then again, I earned a skill set that will most likely stay in demand. My brother has a Bachelor's in History. Not too much demand for people with degrees in History, and...he works as a manager of a furniture store. -
Ooops...I started a thread, too. Naima isn't my favorite, either.

If You Care About Your Children's Education

I worked my way through 2 degrees. I was fortunate to get grants and scholarships along the way, but they didn't even BEGIN to approach the 90% the Hope offers. I, too, finished school with loans due, but I, too, have benefited monetarily from the education I received. It was a fair trade-off. I only took loans because I finished my Master's with three very young children in my home, and the loans made it possible for me to parent AND go to school. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I worked hard, and I knew why I was there and what I wanted to get from it. I tend to believe that (for MOS -
The Japanese people honor and respect their elders. Gramma isn't sent to the nursing home when she gets a bit daffy-NO. She and grampa are adored as the elders of the family. Here? we ship them off to pre-K when they are old enough to sit upright, and we ship them off to eldercare facilities when they no longer can. And we call it all good.

If You Care About Your Children's Education

My dayghter's most excellent education was funded 100% through the Hope scholarship. I am so grateful we had the Hope as a resource. So much so that I pay it backwards by buying lottery tickets. I never expect to win. But I'm guaranteed not to if I don't play. What eats my lunch is people who would complain and boycott because the benefit dropped to 90%. Seriously? Folks balk at a 90% tuition credit? REALLY? You just go ahead with your silly little senseless boycott. And encourage all your friends to, too! I'm sure if you all do, my odds up! -

I am so good with ALL of that. And I'm all good with building a bubble for the kid that needs a bubble. And you have a problem with the bubble? Oh, I'm sorry. -

I wouldn't so easily discount her claims if I were you, but at the same time... I would ask her how altering the educational landscape of 99.9% of a public school classroom benefits anyone under "equal rights"? Clearly, it doesn't. While I am more than sympathetic to those who have a child with such a severe allergy...I reject the notion that the whole educational landscape should adjust. My heart is with the parent of the compromised child.
