Nah...you're safe... It seems seismic events happen just BEFORE the supermoon.
-
Did anyone else read about the circumstantial evidence relating large earthquakes to supermoons? This may have already been discussed--I don't know. I didn't open any supermoon threads this last week. But it is very interesting...

It seems to me rather odd that such a big deal would be made over wearing a Santa hat. I wouldn't want to wear one--not for religious or political reasons, but because wearing a hat for hours would give me a splitting headache. Would I be out-of-line by asking to be excused from the wearing of said hat because wearing it would make me unable to properly do my job? It's a freaking hat. It's not Christmas itself. Should I be forced to wear daffodil perfume to sell Avon? I'm dreadfully allergic to daffodils. I would have a problem with that. I'm a private contractor--I don't

I FINALLY found it! It's not red anymore, but orange. Oddly though, it doesn't look any closer or larger. Guess you had to "be there" when it first ascended. Oh well. I tried.

Thanks. Thanks A LOT.

I. Can't. Find. The. Supermoon. Bummer. I swirled up the hot tub, got myself a cubra libra, and waited. At 7:43 like I was told. And waited. And waited. And waited. If it's super, I'd expect it to at least be on time.

2nd Local call offering free roof inspection this week
TabbyCat replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I got the same call last night. Told him (and truthfully) that I had a new roof put on just last week. He said he'd remove my name from their "list." Just a thought. What happened to us is that we bought new homeowner's insurance. When the insurance company adjuster came out to inspect our house, he recommended terminating our new policy because we needed a new roof (no hail damage, just at the end of its shingle life). The company canceled our policy because of the report on our roof--AND--because we had no less than 5 neighbors in the last year who went with some of these companies -
I say... YAY for the bullying victim!! I detest violence. But do any of you responding appreciate that the bigger kid had been bullied for MONTHS? Little bully-dude thought Big Guy would crumble because he'd been so bullied before little bully kid decided to ATTACK him. Big Guy is the victim of bullying. Little face-slammed guy is a bully. I'm just sorry the bully was ever made to look like the hero while his victim is painted as a bad guy.

Anyone heard about a bus being surrounded by cops
TabbyCat replied to haralson_rebel's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thank you. There was also a bus monitor on the bus where my young child was threatened. There was NO EXCUSE for that...and I responded appropriately by never placing my child on that bus again. But still...the people who are trusted with driving our children to and home from school should have no excuse when they fail to follow the standards we all expect them to adhere to when we entrust them to transport the people who matter most in our lives. I could never drive a school bus. Because as much as I love kids, I don't love everyone else's kids enough to drive them all home. I wou -
Anyone heard about a bus being surrounded by cops

I appreciate your input and your perspective. And I understand why, for safety, someone might park the bus and ask for help. I think the tapes will be telling, too. It doesn't sound like the driver called for help, though? But again, everything just about in this thread is hearsay and conjecture, and I'm certainly guilty of conjecture. When my daughter (who is now almost 27 and getting married next month) was in kindergarten, she got off the bus one day and told me she needed a bag of candy THE NEXT DAY to carry on the bus. She was ADAMANT. I asked her why. It turns -

If they can push you over the edge in one week to the point of parking the bus, you probably ought not be driving that (or any) bus. -
I'm happy it's Friday night, and tomorrow is supposed to be 80+ degrees. I can't carry every day's frustrations into the next day's promise, and tomorrow promises to be a beautiful day.

Anyone heard about a bus being surrounded by cops
TabbyCat replied to haralson_rebel's topic in RECENT TOPICS
True enough. But... PARKING the bus and refusing to move was juvenile. That's part of what I'd want verified by video evidence if I had a child on that bus--what led her to park the bus and refuse to move OR let any kids off? I cannot imagine the job. And especially I can't imagine it if admins don't respect complaints. I guess that part can't be verified by video though, huh? -

The bus driver handled this badly. Period. -

I hadn't considered that aspect, and you're right about that...however, it was a situation she herself perpetuated with her immature and irresponsible behavior. And if I was at the bus door telling you I was going to yank you off the bus by your hair if you didn't let Suzie XXX off, you might want to consider it's actually MY CHILD I am threatening bodily harm over... -

Whatever happened to banning disruptive children from the free ride to and from school? When mine were school bus-riding age, they either got with the program or found another means of transportation. I could not do the job either, but there is no excuse for being physical or holding kids hostage on the bus, especially if their parents were there to get them and she had no intention of doing her job...which was...driving kids home from school. Her regrets, my guess, will be that her temporary job will no longer want her services. And rightly so. I would be putting some hurti -
If Karen didn't have the public votes, the save would have been wasted to keep her there just one more week.
-
They didn't use the save for Karen, but Randy said it wasn't unanimous...I suspected J-Lo would want to use the save for her. I liked Karen. MUCH more than Naima and Haley. Ah, well. I don;t vote, either.
-
Fergie looked like cr@p!! Eh, never liked her anyway. And that song? SHUCKED! I called Haley and Naima...I thought Karen went through? I wasn't paying close attention. I also speculated that Jacob would be a candidate for exit tonight, but he was the first one put through. I really don't know who it will be...but my guess would be Naima. Naima is safe! You got your wish, lowrider!

I'm sick, too. But not too sick to cook corned beef and cabbage here at home! I got a late start, but it will be ready before too long.
-
Perhaps. But ask any religious zealot upon which principle they stand when they ask for tax exemption for their religious organization.

That is not true. He bought the water on Saturday, but he turned it to wine on Sunday. I just hate it when people misrepresent Biblical facts.

restaurant in Paulding with private dining area
TabbyCat replied to Mama Carol's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have been in a private meeting before at Ryan's. But I think also you could get something similar at Las Palmas? I've been to a couple of private parties there also, but there are still lots of people around. Ryan's will put you in a back room with closed doors. It's not the best of Paulding cuisine, but it's tolerable. If you order from their fresh stations, you can avoid the whole feeding trough that is their buffet. And yes, you definitely need to call and make the reservation. -
So who do you think will get the axe this week? I'm thinking Naima. But.... Haley is a possibility. And IMO, Jacob. Really? I thought Thia did well tonight...but...I've never been fond of her performances.
