I looked into this today because I am interested in the human-computer interaction program. Anyone can take a MOOC. They are always free. I just finished two with Coursera courses--Greek History, and--no surprise--Human-Computer interaction. The Greek course was through Wesleyan University, and the H-C Interaction course was through Stanford. There is an option through Coursera to get credit, but even without credit, you get credentials for successfully completing courses, which means you can legitimately lsit them as education for job purposes. The GA Tech admissions standards are hig

This guy was bought about 1.5 years ago as food, but no one ate him. The result? He GREW! He's now 5+ inches long, healthy, and in need of a new home. He would make a good pond fish if you have a small yard pond. But he's also very happy in my 55 gallon tank. Please take him! He's very pretty...and LARGE. His picture is below. PM me if you'd like to take him.

Gotta love it! Folks, I did what I did and I'm not in any way ashamed of it. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, including me.

I'm quite happy with what I've done here, but thanks for the unsolicited wisdom.

I did it. I appreciate that you have rules, Pubby. I do, too, and a big one is that you don't steal from old people or cheat on your obligations. Hopefully it was visible long enough to have the desired result.

You are SO adorable in your feigned obtuseness!

I wish there was a decent defense for being just plain ignorant.

Purple Heart Soldier lied and his wife's leg was amputated?!?
TabbyCat replied to justgettingby's topic in RECENT TOPICS
He may be telling the truth about his service and about being asked to misdirect where his honor was earned. It doesn't seem to me that there is a dispute about his Purple Heart--just where he earned it. How awful if he earned it serving our country, subsequently was asked by military intelligence to lie about it, and ends up being disgraced for lying at the military's request to protect sensitive information. If he honestly earned the honor, he earned a place on that Ill-fated parade float. If the military asked that he fudge about where he earned that honor, the "shame" isn't on him; it -
I'm here wondering what mobile food is? Is that anything like fast food? Rabbits maybe? Forgive me...I am kidding and it sounds like a great service to those in need...but the "mobile food" thing just struck me as funny.

Guess who isn't working in her yard any more this year
TabbyCat replied to lucky64's topic in RECENT TOPICS
He doesn't "run" from us. He knows we aren't going to harm him. We (and our dogs) can walk right up beside him and he isn't worried we're gong to hurt him. Even my grandson has gotten to enjoy him being in our yard. And I was thankful for th opportunity to discuss "good snakes" and "bad snakes." And I'm glad he's decided to be our guard snake. -

It looks like an Eastern King snake to me. Not only are they harmless...BUT...they prey on venomous snakes. We have one in our backyard that we are friendly with. It won't even lunge at my dogs. We want him here. He's a good guy. We can find him most sunny days just lounging in th yard. It would be such a pity to kill a harmless, helpful snake. -

That was kind of you.

There are literally hundreds of poems about hate. Hundreds and hundreds. Not that I care. It just bugged me that anyone would assert that as if it were fact.

EMS Director Says 60 To 70 Dead In West Texas Explosion
TabbyCat replied to cptlo306's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Latest official word is that 35-40 are missing. Add that to 15 lost, and you're pretty close to the earlier estimate. So much loss. -
Maybe it's just me...but if I hoped and planned to catch someone doing something "illegal" on video in my neighborhood, I probably wouldn't "warn" them on a community message board. But that's just me.

I need the BEST cut throat Family Law Attorney

I don't doubt you care for your kids. I never questioned that, nor will I. Chillax. I wish you well. If he's trying to avoid paying support, he should be hog tied. My ex never paid. $600 a month for three kids he was ordered to pay, of which he payed $600--one month. For years I did it all on my own...so I am not unsympathetic. In your situation? Maybe he filed to avoid CS payments. However, you have the ability to garnish his wages, so avoidance isn't really an issue, right? And how, if you can garnish his wages now, has he avoided payment for the last five years? Well nev -

I'm sorry you felt the need to address me directly, because what I posted wasn't aimed directly at you. I'm glad that all of your Internet friends think you're awesome. I was speaking of a personal situation where a young man dear to me has filed for custody because the situation his son is being subjected to is intolerable. He has filed for custody, and immediately the mom's family started talking smack about why the only reason he'd filed was to avoid paying child support. I know this is your topic, sweets, but it's not all always about you. -
We went for dinner Tuesday night. It was just MEH... There was nothing about the food or the experience that would entice me to return. The food was mediocre at best, and the service, if you want to call it that, was annoying. The owner hovered around our table the WHOLE MEAL. I had two empanadas, and both were sold cold. The coconut rice tasted like rice...no coconut flavor at all. Altogether, the food was a bit flavorless. Maybe we caught them on a bad night? I don't know, but I do know we won't likely be back.
