I have three cats and three dogs. I am obviously a pet person. My dogs are NOT allowed on the living room furniture. They do get to have bed time, though. We like our snuggles. To answer your question though, I think houseguests should be polite about house rules. They are, after all, guests in your house. If you don't want dogs on your sofa, that's your call. But at the same time, pets don't possess our ability to reason, and if little yappy dog is used to sitting on the sofa with mom, you can't really retrain it for a short visit. Dogs are creatures of habit, and the dog will

Some People May Get Choked, But Not To Death

Public intoxication is against the law. It's pretty simple. Don't resist arrest. Especially if you're breaking the law. -
Thanks, CO. I wish I had what they need, but I got rid of all our excess when we moved into our new place a couple of years ago, so I am doing all I can to get them set up. But I can't give the things we need! I would think pots and pans and dishes would be essential. So would towels and sheets. She has a W/D in the place we're renting, and she has a microwave. It's just basic household stuff that's needed. My heart breaks for this situation. Without a doubt, some bad decisions were made that led this family to this place. But I'm all about moving on and making things better. I think t

And let me clarify...I'm not asking anyone to buy anything or give any money. I'm just asking, if you have any of these household items in excess and would like to re-home them, please let me know. Again, thank you.

My grandson, grandson's mother, and 10 his month old brother recently moved in with me due to a domestic violence situation (my son not involved...10 month old is not my grandson). They were living in FL and left rather abruptly, bringing with them only what would fit in her small car. We are working to get them a place to live and hopefully, that will be resolved today. However, once we get the home, they are in need of basic household items...dishes, pots and pans, towels, etc. I wanted to put this out there in case there were any folks who might like to assist them. We would appreciate

Fresh ginger is supposed to work wonders. You can chop it and eat a bit or make a fresh ginger tea.

I was no more than 5 minutes in front of this accident, if that much. More than likely, it happened right behind me. I am so thankful. I detest driving 278, but I do it twice a day. My only other option is to catch I20 in Douglasville, which means I have to drive out past where I am and where I need to be to get to I20. That just doesn't make sense. Condolences for the family of the fatality.

My good friends' neighbors' house. The home I hear was a total loss, but the couple got out uninjured and have lots of family in the area. They left with family.

Feel better soon! -
If she is brain dead and the only thing prolonging her death is artificial support, I believe it is unkind to keep her on support. It is a TRAGIC story, but the worst part to me is that her family would even consider keeping her sustained by artificial means. If she is truly gone, the kindest thing is to let her go, and love her through the whole tragedy. It serves no purpose to keep her artificially "alive." If she can't survive when they remove the breathing machines, and she is truly "brain dead,"... WHY keep her alive? That's not living, by anyone's standards. JMHO. So sad.

Oh, I agree. My right eye felt JUST LIKE THAT yesterday. It was just beyond awful. After LPPT posted in this thread, it all made sense. We have tons of trees around us, and though my husband has tried to stay on top of leaf control, with this many trees it is almost impossible. A leaf mold allergy sounds completely plausible, and it certainly fits what happened to me. I hope that any of us who suffer with this find relief during this cold weather and as the wind dies down.

Thanks, everyone. I am feeling better. Still really sneezy and sniffly, but the eye itchiness is gone and I'm not anywhere like I was last night. Hoping the cold weather snuffed out whatever I was reacting so badly to. Merry Christmas!

You, too? Ugh...this is miserable.

I have year-round allergies, too, and Benadryl is the only thing that works for me. It worked today, too, but in way less than the usual 4 hour dose, plus I took a double dose just because I was so miserable. I'm sure it's an allergic reaction. I just don't know to WHAT.

YIKES...did it start with your eyes? I don;t feel sick. But...I do feel like a train ran over me. I'm as sick with allergies as I have EVER been. My husband was puttering down in the basement, and I was puttering upstairs earlier today when it hit. He came upstairs and was asking me about something...and I said, "Look at my EYES," and he kinda freaked a bit. He's known me for years and has never seen me like this. Hell, I'VE never seen me like this...it is AWFUL. I've had a flu shot...it doesn't feel like flu...it feels like allergies. Nothing else. PM me with what you came up wit

Thanks for your input, TP. I'm pretty sure this isn't PMS. But that was funny right there!

Awww, I'm so sorry jenilyn. I hope he feels better in the morning. I'm pretty sure this isn't just "the bug." It is so clearly allergy related, because it started with my eyes. And Benadryl did help abate the symptoms a bit...but just for a little bit. I took TWO 25 mg Benadryl around 4:30 this afternoon, just because it was SO BAD...I usually only take one every 4 hours, but really, this was BAD. About an hour or so later, I had a bit of relief, but it's all come back head-on now. I am just SICK with allergies. I hope it goes away quickly. I spent all day last Christmas Day in bed, s

No live tree here. Nothing that I can pinpoint would tell me why I am having this severe allergic reaction. I just wondered if it was happening to anyone else? I have no doubt it's allergies...but I just can't figure out TO WHAT? Because whatever it is, I need to stay far, far away from it! LOL! No...but that would be ironic, wouldn't it? Thanks for your well wishes.

Good giggly wiggly...I am in allergy HELL. My right eye started itching like it was lit on fire around noon today. Since then, it's spread to BOTH eyes, and my nose and throat, too. I am sooooo miserable. I have allergies...have for years...but THIS is the WORST allergy attack I have EVER had! I feel miserable. My eyes are all itchy and puffy, and I'm sneezing my head off. Am I the only one? Is anyone else having severe allergy symptoms? WHAT IS IT??!!??!
