  1. Thanks, folks. I'll be checking into both of them.
  2. I have found myself in need of daycare for a 5 year-old. I work in Midtown, and live on Ridge Road in Hiram. Please, give me your good advice and referrals. Thanks so much.
  3. Oh, you mean that other Constitutional right?
  4. YAY!!! for you and helping like that!! :clapping: Thank you for helping them, and for why you did it. And thanks for sharing the story. And, you probably should fix that avatar.
  5. "A statement on Dick's corporate website expresses sympathy for the victims' families. It says sales of "modern sporting rifles" will be suspended during "this time of national mourning." It's not clear how long the suspension will last. A spokesman for Dick's did not immediately return a call for comment on Tuesday." .................. "The decision to sell Freedom Group, in which Cerberus has had an investment in since 2006, was made to avoid being "drawn into the national debate" about gun control, the firm said....In its press release, Cerberus said, Freedom Group sells only to
  6. I think maybe another rifle was found in the trunk, just not the .223 semi-automatic. But I'm not certain about that. I just know the medical examiner said what's posted in my response above, and I'd guess he'd know better than anyone. Bless him. I can't imagine how hard his job was this weekend.
  7. Perhaps using more current info would be useful? Here " Adam Lanza used a Bushmaster .223 semi-automatic rifle at close range to kill children and adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday... ...Two handguns were also found at the scene, but Carver described the Bushmaster as the killer's primary weapon. A fourth weapon was found nearby..."
  8. My five year old grandson is here with me tonight. I am thankful...VERY thankful...but in some ways, it makes the loss those 20 other families experienced today so much more painful. My heart has been broken about this all day. Those sweet, innocent children. And so incredibly senseless. And pointless. And the media, as much as we all want to know what's going on and to try to understand it...the media blows these things all over every possible media outlet and in some ways glorifies the act for others who are of the mindset to follow the same awful path. It all just sucks.
  9. people's lives... :shudder: And I hope you can accept what has happened, and who was responsible for it. There's nothing you can gain by coming on here and threatening folks. It just makes you look bad and does nothing to help your "friends."
  10. If you do a search on "cruelty to children ga law sex offender," you'll find that many folks registered are convicted only of "cruelty to children." My guess would be that they plead down for the less obnoxious sentence but were still required to register as part of the deal because of the nature of the crime. But I'm just guessing.
  11. If that was supposed to be some sort of insult or a personal attack, it failed rather badly. I find it helps to be coherent, but I realize that doesn't work for everyone--for a variety of reasons.
  12. If you want an idea of the kinds of things that are donated to Goodwill around the country, go to http://www.shopgoodwill.com/ It's crazy what people donate. Look at the art, antiques, and collectibles on there.
  13. Zimmerman headed for his truck when he was asked not to follow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj7qEcD8R-8 I'm not saying he was entirely "right" in what he was doing or how he did it, but I also say wasn't entirely "wrong," and the facts would bear out that he felt threatened by Martin, who, by the way, attacked and beat the $h!t out of him. They were both wrong. It irks me that everyone wants to blame one guy for this. It was tragic and should never have happened, but Martin wasn't just some sweet kid out buying iced tea. They both were wrong. Zimmerman took quite a beating.
  14. By all accounts, he was heading back to his vehicle when he was attacked. Maybe you should have some knowledge before you post as if you know.
  15. And maybe...Martin was a wannabe thug with a good head start on being one. We neither one were there. There's plenty of "maybes" to go around here.
  16. "He needed killing"? And anyone here who thinks any discussion on this board influences any jury is more deluded even than you, sparkly sunshine.
  17. Perhaps a new thread is due? I could actually care less about Halle Berry's baby daddy drama. I'm sure they will all be fine once the drama is all sorted out. I don't really have much concern about the whole Zimmerman/Martin thing, except that I think the whole thing was blown up by the media to be a "racial incident" when it really wasn't. Zimmerman was a vigilante thug, but Martin wasn't the media angel he's been made out to be. Zimmerman was WRONG...but I don't think it rises to the level of murder. Martin was wrong, too, and I think it's clear he attacked and beat up Zimmerman. Wa
  18. I don't recall anyone in this thread saying that Zimmerman was "justified" in killing Martin. Did you? Define "justified"? And who/what is this thread about? Was that comment meant to be a "contribution" to the discussion? My, my.
  19. Was your edit supposed to make your position more clear? Add some cheese to your whine? Sorry--didn't work.
