  1. A preposition is a perfectly fine thing to end a sentence with. As a former English teacher, some of the most hysterical sentences I have ever had the pleasure of reading were those containing dangling participles. So to answer your question...NO...they don't bother me. They crack me up!!!
  2. I hope she's found safe.
  3. It isn't new. They just haven't been able to isolate the chemical likely causing the problem, so instead of pulling treats made in China, they've just issued consumer alerts. We're erring on the side of caution and give NO treats from China to our pups.
  4. When I was a kid and into my teenage years, I wanted to be a veterinarian. That's ALL I ever wanted to be, as a kid/very young adult. Then I grew up a bit, had a broken family by age 16, and struck out on my own. Worked as a checker at Kroger for a while, then moved to a bigger city than where I grew up and modeled/acted for a bit. It was fun, but not all that great. I had a few seasons in the Montgomery Ward catalog (lol...they don't even EXIST anymore) modeling and did a couple of movies with REALLY small parts. All the while, I was going to college, wanting then to study child psycholog
  5. HP can't compete anymore because of the prevalence of portable devices that access the Internet...Smart Phones and Tablets. HP's primary market has been wired devices. It has no connection with the overall economy...it has to do with evolving technologies and how some things we used to revere are being phased out by new technology. Similar case in point? I give you Kodak. This isn't about the economy, it's about technology. But y'all go on and throw political barbs at one another and think you're scoring points. If nothing else, it's good people-watching.
  6. This season completely failed to hold my interest. That said, I hope Phillip wins. I tuned in last week, and I think they're both really, really good, but Phillip's voice and stage performance just blow me away.
  7. I didn;t find the recipe you were looking for, but I LOVE this site: Robbie's Copycats.

    HOUSE!

I won't blow it for anyone...but OMGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! That ending was SO PERFECT!!! I ed it!!!
  9. I don't need fangs imbedded in my thigh in order to know I've met a snake.
  10. My husband and I have seen him pretty frequently at the corner of Macland and 92 over the last month. My question has always been...WHERE does he get the cotton candy he sells? I mean really...if he's been doing this for about a year or so...WHERE does that cotton candy come from? We've never "bought" into his scam, and that's what we believe it is...a SCAM. He plays on people's emotions and he's not "begging," he's selling you something in exchange for your sympathy. I say he needs a business license and a stand that sells his spun sugar legitimately rather than standing on th

    HOUSE!

I know some have abandoned the series, but I haven't. I have loved this show for years now! Tonight is the final episode. Right now, it's a 1 hour retrospective. The "final" episode starts at 9:00 pm. I'll miss my House fix. I loved this show, but I do think it had hit a dead end and needed to bow out. Which is why I'm so looking forward to the FINAL episode. I'll miss you, Gregory!!
  12. We went there for lunch today also, around 1:30. It was yummy! I love Popeye's, but it was my husband's first time there. He liked it, too!
  13. What would preclude him from pursuing either of those, pray tell?
  14. I can understand that he "felt" that way...but honestly? As a "class leader," he did have a bit more responsibility to step up and say it was WRONG for this mob of teens to vandalize the very school that was going to honor him at graduation! I have no dog in this fight, but have read through this whole thread and of course, have followed the story in the local media. While I respect his RIGHT to appeal, I also understand why his participation in the vandalism might be seen with a bit more distaste than what might have come down for others. That doesn't mean I think he should have
  15. I hope she is found safe. This must be excruciating for her parents.
  16. I'm so sorry you still have no answers...that must be so frustrating! I had mono when I was 14. By the time I was diagnosed, I'd had it for quite a while, and I was VERY sick. Like someone else mentioned, they wondered at first if I had leukemia because my white blood count was so extremely out-of-whack. After I was diagnosed, I was put on bed-rest for over a month, and it took all of that time and more before I really got better. In my case, I think it might not have been so severe had I been diagnosed sooner. Later, in my 20s, I had to have a lymph node in my neck surgically removed
  17. It's almost cute how you pick and choose which media report you believe. Bless your heart. I'm sure you mean well.
  18. I know. We enjoyed it over here, too.
  19. Your reading comprehension really CAN'T be that bad. But nice try.
  20. One has to wonder, as they whittle away her body parts and her vitals are failing, when enough is enough. I would hate to be in the place her parents are right now. It's got to be the most excruciating thing EVER. If I were to pray for anything here, it would be for clarity for those who love her. And of course, for a miracle, because that's what this is in need of. Short of that, it's looking really bad. We were all kids once and felt invincible. She's no different than any of us ever were, or our kids are. We don't factor in flesh-eating bacterias when we think of our loved ones
