  1. My heart breaks for the Gann and Mathis family. Such a tough ordeal. She is in a better place and resting in peace. Rest well sweet angel Tiffaney and watch over your sweet Amelia.
  2. My parents live in South Hero, which is basically an island in Lake Champlain. 25 min North of Burlington. Love it in Summer. Do not miss the mess seen in the picture! My parents are retired, so it is not too bad. They don't have to be anywhere and getting snowed in is no biggie. Edited for spelling.
  3. My Dad just sent me this picture from his recent attempt to keep the snow manageable. Said it is still coming down in VT!
  4. My parents live in South Hero, Vermont. Have their shovel inside the front door, in case they need it to get to the snow blower in the detached garage. Good times!
  5. AGREE!! Yes....I shop the outside of the store only. Make all that I can, including pasta. (Read a box of pasta. Real pasta is easy and has simple ingredients.) I do not cook "Southern", but cook like my Grandmother did, and she lives to 85. She cooked with a glass of wine in hand and with natural, in their rawest form ingredients. We even drink raw milk {GASP} and raise our own chickens for eggs to avoid over processing. Have a pig and 1/2 a cow in our freezer that are both as organic as possible thanks to my Father-In-Law. All the things done to "make food in mass" are, in my opinion
  6. I am sure if faced with the same situation: returning to your home which you work very hard to maintain and saw people walking off with your stuff, you might do the same thing.
  7. Chest of drawers is something I am looking for as well. Something I can paint and use outside. Pinterest garden aspirations!
  8. THANKS!! I will have to check them out.
  9. I am trying to find some cheap, old furniture for re-purposing, but I am lost as to where to find anything. I looked at Goodwill and YUCK! Any insight? TIA
  10. Added 2. Will search for 2 more to add soon!
  11. Love my homemade bread. I do similar to your version, only I spritz the loaves with water while baking to add that extra crunch to the crust. I have not bought a loaf of bread from the store in over 6 mo. My husband likes both crunch and soft. I like crunch!
  12. If you have an idiot for a neighbor, then you will end up spending a ton to keep them. I live on almost 1.5 acres, but it is a very long skinny lot. I built a coop and got 6 chicks that I raised for laying purposes. They were also pets. A neighbor got upset over an issue I was not even involved in, but he filed a complaint with the Marshall's Office. I was given 10 days to come into compliance (which means remove the chickens) or file an appeal. To file an appeal, you have to have a plat of you land and requested changes for the variance submitted in those 10 days. That is not a lot of
  13. Everyone has their own opinions and mine is not nearly as favorable as yours about this place. We camped there this past year and I complained and trashed them on a well known travel site after they failed to follow-up on my e-mails. We were there in "the off season", but the whole place seemed to be in disrepair. After the first day, I would no longer let my kids jump on the trampolines. There were broken springs, missing springs, and a horrid collection of filth under them. The swing set was missing ladder rungs and was in great need of some screw tightening. Our trip to the "farm" was
  14. We love camping at Cloudland Canyon. Very pretty trails and a very nice campground. Makes me want to schedule a trip soon!
  15. Sadly, I have been to several of our county's wonderful playgrounds and you would not believe the cigarette butts and chew wads. GROSS!! We finally just invested in our own play set. People are just rude!
  16. What is required besides a bed for her and feeding her? I had several exchange students growing up and it was a lot of fun! We have young kids, but they can bunk together and she could have my daughter's room, I suppose. What date is she here through and is she able to travel outside of GA? We have a spring break trip to VT and several other weekend trips planned.
  17. Prayers! Very sad for all and hoping for the best.
  18. There are so many factors to the whole equation. Family history is a huge one if you ask me! My Grandmother (whom I am built like) was a farm girl. She was big and considered overweight. She lived to 87 and died from liver cancer. She had no other health issues. Like her, my cholesterol is great, my BP is fine, and I have no other health issues. I am just fat! I like to eat and if I follow family history, I will probably be able to eat for many years to come.
  19. The update I got via a cousin at about 11:30 was not great. Numbers were up after they took him off a med overnight. He was put back on the med, but that is apparently a step in the wrong direction. This little boy is a fighter and has been since birth. I pray he has more fight in him. As far as I know, from my sources, this was truly nothing more than a horrible accident. Prayers is what are needed, not blame or gossiping.
  20. Last update I got was earlier this afternoon and he was still in critical condition. The neurosurgeon was encouraged by what he saw, but would not speculate other than to say the first 24 hours are the most dangerous. The next milestone will be the 3 day mark. They will likely not wake him until the end of next week. They are thinking brain damage is highly likely, but will not know anymore until the coma is reversed.
  21. This is the response this should be getting, not the negativity about who plays outside when. It was a complete accident. I know relatives of Tripp and all they want is prayers. People's opinions will be what they will, but that will not change the fact that all kids go out to play and it could have been any kid, any where, at any time.
  22. Such an awesome tribute. Thanks for sharing! Made me cry. Rest well sweet angle and thanks for watching over all of us.
  23. Fish Thyme in Acworth! Make a reservation so your wait is minimal. Very fresh. Very good. Fish Thyme
  24. I don't think there is anything on the books that could be reported. I scanned the zoning ordinances and campers are not mentioned in any of the residential sections. It is not a being used for an extended period and they are not truly living there.
  25. They came out and put a table topper on for me and they were great!!! Delivered a day earlier than they said and they were very professional! I would use them again and again (but I only have one table )
