  1. My husband and I also married young, 20 and 19. We waited three years to have kids and we also enjoyed our time alone those early years. Now the kids are old enough if we want to go on a date or somewhere without them, we can and they can stay home. The oldest is 17 will be 18 on Feb 1. the middle one is 14 and youngest is 12 will be 13 on Feb 6. We still enjoy time together. It's been 21 1/2 years now!!!!
  2. My parents were there to buy something the day before yesterday. Mr. Swafford told my dad he sold the store. From my understanding, it is not closing down, but changing owners.
  3. My hubby always starts and finishes whatever needs to be done. I don't have any problems with him fixing things. If I pick up something for the house that will be a project for him, he just says, "I'd like a little warning before I get a honey-do-list." But he always does it right away. I will tell him he doesn't have to do it right then, but he says, no he's going to do it then because I want it done. I swear, they broke the mold when they made my husband. I could not ask for a better man! He is awesome!
  4. It is not in my area or we would get AT&T. I talked to them Friday and it's not here. It's very aggregating because we are basically at Comcast mercy and we do not like Comcast. We live in a subdivision off a main road and don't have ATT. My mom lives on a back road off another back road and she has had it for a few years. ATT said they do not know when we will have Uverse. I talked to Comcast twice Friday. One person told me yes, we will get a cap. the other said they are waiting to hear if the cap will be implemented, but so far they have not heard so she said as of Friday, there wil
  5. My oldest went on a field trip a few years ago and met Jimmy. He received an autographed copy of one of Jimmy's books. When my son got home he was excited telling me he met him and shook his hand. I looked at him and said, "Son, You didn't meet anybody. He was the worst president we have ever had. (This was before Obama started his crap, but he was in office). Not too long ago I found the book in the trash. I got it to look it up online to see the worth (since it is autographed). I was surprised at the prices those book are selling for, so I put it in the closet. I figure if nothing else, he c
  6. Well, that stinks. I called and told hubby about this. He talked to a Comcast guy and was told yes, this is true. Hubby asked about gamming. He was told playing a game on facebook would eat up the 300 MG in less than a week. So, now we are going to cancel Comcast internet. This also means our Roku will not work. Everything else with them has been canceled for months. We cannot get ATT here. They don't have U-Verse in my area and there are no DSL ports available. We have tried the satellite internet and it sucked. We had it for a whole 2 hours before we canceled it. Other than dial-up, any
  7. I have no clue what has been going on in Yorkville today. It's usually very quite out here. Wish I did know though.
  8. This is making me nervous. It's too close to my house. I have the scanner on, but haven't heard anything so far.
  9. I left about 10:30 this morning and saw a bunch of police cars sitting inside the turning lane at the dollar store. I just got home and they are still there. This is very close (walking distance) to my home.
  10. I was told by the eye doc the screening shouldhave picked up my sons because at that time his vision was 20/60. I'm not saying they should have picked up the astigmatism, but the fact that he could not see well from his right eye and referred him accordingly. It just made me leery of the screenings. I am SO glad your child's vision problems were caught. I agree, when they learn to use and depend on one eye only, it makes it very difficult for parents to notice a problem to have them checked. I was shocked when I found out about my son's eye. He never showed any kind of issues with his sig
  11. My youngest was screened when he was three years old and I was told he had perfect vision. When he turned 4, I took him to an eye doc. and found out he has astigmatism in his right eye VERY badly. The eye doc said he had the astigmatism his while life. He is now 12 and he has 20/70 vision in his right eye. After the screening did not pick up his astigmatism, I stopped allowing the screenings and just go directly to the eye doc with all three of my boys once a year. He did not show signs of anything being wrong. He had learned to depend 100% on his left eye.
  12. I understand exactly what you're saying. The thing is, my husband does not drink. He did not drink when he was younger and had long hair either. It never made sense to us why he was getting pulled over due to having long hair.
  13. My husband has been pulled over many, many times when he was younger and each time was in the middle of the day. The reason he was given was "he had long hair." Since he got older and cut his hair short, he has not been pulled over. We went to visit his mom in Conyers several years ago. When we left, we stopped by a convenience store. There was a cop inside the store and he told my husband since he was from out of town he was going to keep a close eye on him. Yes, some cops DO abuse their power. Pulling someone over for having long hair is ridiculous. My mom used to work at a convenie
  14. I have 3 sons, 2 are bigger and stronger than me. They KNOW they have to mind me and if they don't, they know they will pay. They also know when I have to get them daddy gets them when he gets home (because they are bigger and stronger than me, he makes sure it takes). My 17 year old has never really not minded me. When he was 2 years old, I told him 'no' about something he was going to grab. He pulled his hand up in a fist at me. I looked at him and said, "That would be a very bad mistake. You better not hit your momma." He pulled his hand down and walked away. He NEVER did anything like that
  15. Thousands Of Americans See Their Health Plans Canceled Health plans are sending hundreds of thousands of cancellation letters to people who buy their own coverage, frustrating some consumers who want to keep what they have and forcing others to buy more costly policies.
  16. Tundra, You are correct. I live in one of the stated subdivisions. I am not liking this at all. I do not know anyone who does like the idea of a bigger airport. It may bring our property values up, BUT who would want to buy?
  17. I was afraid of the chain locks because if they open the door then close it, they can mash their fingers. Yep, and we got a laugh when they would try to open the door and say,"Won't open." LOL
  18. When mine finally figured out how to open a door, we went and bought hook locks to put on ALL the doors. We put the locks on the inside doors as well as any door going outside. We put them up high so the kids couldn't reach it to unhook it. Worked like a charm.
  19. When we heard this story on the news, the fist thing I asked my husband was how can someone lose an 18 month old baby? I understand babies are kidnaped all the time, but this was at home. I agree, the whole story sounds fishy.
  20. Here's more, but I'm not sure if long term unemployment would fall under any. It seems like it would though. Exemptions from the payment Under certain circumstances, you won’t have to make the individual responsibility payment. This is called an “exemption.” You may qualify for an exemption if: •You’re uninsured for less than 3 months of the year •The lowest-priced coverage available to you would cost more than 8% of your household income It seems to me it would fall under this one. I could be wrong. •You don’t have to file a tax return because your income is too low (Lea
  21. https://www.healthcare.gov/exemptions/ Hardship exemptions If you have any of the circumstances below that affect your ability to purchase health insurance coverage, you may qualify for a “hardship” exemption: 1.You were homeless. 2.You were evicted in the past 6 months or were facing eviction or foreclosure. 3.You received a shut-off notice from a utility company. 4.You recently experienced domestic violence. 5.You recently experienced the death of a close family member. 6.You experienced a fire, flood, or other natural or human-caused disaster that caused substantial damage
  22. When my husband and I got married, 21 years ago, he drove to Atlanta to work everyday. My dad drove to Atlanta to work everyday. It was not a big deal for them. When I was born, my parents lived on 61 S a few miles from the high school. When I was 16 we moved out to Yorkville. Yorkville was only dirt roads with a few paved roads. My husband's parents moved here when he was about 5 years old. He remembers when ALL the roads in Yorkville were dirt roads. The land where Kings Crossing Subdivision is used to be a cow pasture. The land where the subdivision we live in used to be all
  23. I live close to the airport and I do not want to see all this go up out here. This is NOT a city by any means. That is why we chose to live out here. It is away from any type of city, big or small. We didn't want to live in Dallas directly because that is too much city for us. And before I am told to just move, Paulding is my home. We have lived here all our lives and we will not move.
  24. Here's another Many Still Uninsured with Affordable Care Act However, even after the individual mandate takes effect on January 1, 2014, many Americans will still be left uninsured. In the Congressional Budget Office’s 2012 projection regarding the Affordable Care Act, they predicted that by 2016 there would be between 26 and 27 million uninsured. This prediction was made prior to the Supreme Court decision to allow states to opt out of Medicaid expansion. A new analysis in the journal Health Affairs predicts that, taking into account the Supreme Court’s decision, the number of unins
