  1. I agree, the government should stop telling us what's allowed and let us decide for ourselves.
  2. I was talking to a religious lady a few weeks ago. She was against it. I asked her ... what if it were the other way around. What if being gay were considered " normal " and heterosexuality not. How would you feel if someone told you that you should be attracted to women instead of men. At first she was a little ticked at me. But, after some thought she said you know what, You've got a point. It's easy to be against against something when it doesn't affect your life or your happiness. People seriously need to stop telling others how to live their lives.
  3. We have a similar alarm system on all doors and windows. Our oldest used to sleep walk as a child. That alarm woke up the entire house a few times, and saved him from walking out the front door. We don't keep it monitored by a company. Just the sound alone, makes us feel so much better and easier to sleep at night. Edited to add that the only box to turn it off, is in our bedroom Yes, attempting to escape is futile.
  4. Awesome to hear good news about it. Until now, I only read statistics.
  5. We're considering the Fort Myers, Naples area
  6. My 9 year old daughter carries her bird watching stuff with her in a backpack everywhere she goes Never know ... those cute little redheaded girls could be up to something.
  7. I went to Emory to see the Dalai Lama last year. While there I saw the philosophy and theology programs that they offer. If I weren't too old, OMG I would do it in a heartbeat
  8. I snack on almonds and seeds all day long I also only eat tortilla chips.
  9. Guess it's time for hubby to teach me how to use the shotgun
  10. I sold and purchased things on Ebay for many years. Last 2 or 3 years, I've only used Amazon. I've tried going back to Ebay a few times, but it's just not what it used to be.
  11. Describing someone doesn't make them a racist, bigot, sexists ... geez society needs to quit being so sensitive. I do agree that cheap housing = crime. My mother grew up poor and she can tell some stories. When crime gets high, it makes folks paranoid. Seeing kids walking in the heat with backpacks on a Sunday, yes would make them jump to conclusions. My kids love to go camping on the weekends with their dad. They carry their stuff in backpacks. There are many reasons or possibilities. And as mentioned by others, we do need to watch out for each other. The police can't be everywhere.
  12. Oh what I would give to of been a fly on the wall I would of been cheering you on. People like her ruin it for those that really do need help.
  13. Also, retailers are beginning to hire for seasonal work.
  14. My brother was on ritalin as a child. And yes, today he's a mess. I've seen the pamphlets in the pediatricians office. I've been told by nurses that yes, they are offered incentive to prescribe medications. I've watched a loved one OD and kill herself with her prescription anti depressants .. after years of managing her depression herself, without drugs. The drug industry is making allot of money .. and it's very scary. These kids today, are our future. Our future congress .. do we really want them doped up ? Do we want a future generation that cannot live or cope without a drug ? That's what
  15. I'll ask her if it's okay. She's almost 19 years old. Not so much a child anymore
  16. I make granola with oats, brown sugar, flax seed, honey, and dried fruit. Mix it in with some yogurt and a banana .. I'mma happy girl I also love sweet potato fries and kale chips.
  17. My youngest LOVES anything strawberry. We keep frozen strawberries in the freezer at all times. We make jams, strawberry milk ... ect. It is rough trying to eat out when you're looking to avoid all the crap they put in food.
  18. You sound like my daughter. She also avoids all processed foods. Everything is homemade, or she doesn't eat it. Oddly coffee helps her. I read about it online years ago. We tried it and she said it actually helped her to focus and calm down that little buzzing head of hers. I would also like to point out the advantages of ADD. She notices things, others do not. She is EXTREMELY detail orientated. Nothing gets past her. It's almost like a Spidey sense lol. She's an awesome driver, which I was seriously afraid she wouldn't be. Again she sees and notices everything. So, while yes there are disadv
  19. We've attended Owl's Nest as well as a new branch in Douglasville. We've been attending in Douglasville more often lately ... as it's closer to us.
