Got this one from here, just haven't tried it: Potato Soup This one *can* be very thick, but it depends on how much milk you put into it. It's got baked (or boiled) potatoes, flour, salt/pepper, butter, bacon, cheese, milk, sour cream, and green onion garnish. You cook the potatoes (your preference)--I usually make a double batch so somewhere between 7-8 med-large potatoes. Once they're cooked (make sure they're peeled), you put them in the pot w/ about 2 sticks of butter that's been melted and about 1/3 + (depending upon how thick you want it again) cups of flour and the salt/pepper.

Great information! I do know that sometimes food pantries will also have donations made and available, but they are not always as frequent.

Glad to hear you found out who called kelwil -- and it was SS! I didn't until early this year. Services were very limited and I wasn't willing to pay for something like that when I really didn't need it. Only reason I have it now is because I was able to finally able to get DSL in my area and I bundled in an upgrade of phone services which were are now cheaper than what I had previously on dialup & regular phone. I always respond - "who were you trying to call?" but I like your response!!

Mostly debt free here with availability to liquid cash .... meaning, that the only thing we owe is a car payment which is being paid off as quickly as possible (extra paid each month directly out of current monthly expense funds), no other debt (no house or credit card balances) and do have a "saving" account. We decided a loan for a portion of the purchase on the car was a better option for us as we didn't want to depleat our savings account in a situation where we might need to get cash or if a layoff was eminent and needed survival funds - as soon as it is paid off, we will be putting that

Easiest dinner - microwave & oven do the majority of the work Horseradish/sour cream sauce is Boarshead = available at Kroger or Publix near the deli (easier and is really good).
