  2. Mine is great (personal opinion) for the one with beans & meat, got a great recipe for no-beans (more texas version). Mine is always a bit different, but will start with the standard stuff - meat, onions, green peppers (if I have them), a little garlic, cumin & chili powder (special variety occasionally), fresh &/or frozen tomatoes (both sometimes, might add some paste), beans or no beans (try different types), etc .... Experiment a bit with the standards and I'm sure you will find a winner.
  3. Whatcha got cooking tonight? Been thinking about more "fall" recipes and stopped and got the fixin' for them, just not quite in the mood yet (even though I do cook a lot of those types of foods year round). So, I decided I want "cozy" food but not quite to "fall" food .... We are having: Fried Chicken Mashed Potatoes with Sour Cream & Chives Green Beans & Almonds in a "buttter/creamish" sauce Not much for sweets tonight ( I know), so probably no dessert. What did you have or what are you making?

  8. Good for you! I need to get back on my maintenance plan again, been a huge slacker lately. Don't have any of the items for you, but do have a couple of tips that I found for me which helped me start my weight loss (and I work a lot of long hours too): 1. Drink water, don't drink soda (even diet). If you need caffeine have coffee or tea. 2. Use the stairs. If you need to go to another floor in your building, stairs will give you a bit of exercise. 3. Walk for at least 1/2 hour every day. Can be broken into 3 10 minute walks if needed, but best just to do it all at once. Doesn'

  10. No idea of who to contact, but it is a WONDERFUL donation! Maybe with some of the church groups or charities or ???, they know of direct needs. I can at least make sure this stays at the top so someone who might know can answer
  11. Alaska Cruise - My grandparents did one years ago and they were on a very small ship which allowed them to get closer to glaciers and fyords. I think it was a bit more expensive, but was a lot more "intimate", only about 180-200 people on the entire ship .... something to think about. Never been on a cruise, so I have no opinion - Have been to a couple of all-inclusives and highly recommend. You can always take day trips with them to other areas/cities/attractions and know exactly where you are. We enjoyed the couple of them that we did and got to learn a lot of the country we were in.

  16. if that is a requirement ... simmer/boil in broth, take out and shred while adding some noddles/veggies, recombine and sip
  17. we love ranch chicken ... served as a meat entree, salad component or ??? In plastic storage bag put ranch dressing (dry), 2 tbl oil (our choice olive oil), 1 tbl vinegar (our choice red wine) - Mix well. Put in chicken to marinate for not more than 1 hour (we do 1/2 hour to 45 min.). Grill, broil, saute to your liking Serve as you want to. Very good! We are having: DH = taco lasagna Me = Nachos

  19. You have gotten a lot of valuable insight on decisions made by others. There really is not one answer, but there will be an answer for you & your family. Your head will tell you what your heart will break over, but you will find peace when the decisision is the right one and then will grieve the loss. May you find great memories in the time you had together which will bring joy to your heart, in the meantime make memories to cherish forever. Wishes.
