I crunched in the same steps I made the other day to go get the newspaper & mail, but if I stepped out of those previous steps I would have been in some serious trouble!! Dang that stuff is slick between the ice and the "melt". and thanks for the laughs/chuckles at a few posts

I hear ya .... I need to get away from the kitchen!!

Haven't left the property since I came home on Saturday either. Been in sweats or flannels or pjs. Been putting in more than 10 hour days from here, tomorrow will try to venture to the office and put in less hours

Got mail today (and not all junk too) but not 3 days worth which is ok. Got newspaper today, but only Monday & Tuesday not Wednesday No trash service yet.

good reminder! thanks. if I had one I would do that .... but no luck - all vehicles must sit outdoors. We cleaned off the cars yesterday and ran them for a few minutes just to get things moving. We'll do this again tomorrow.

got shovel .... got broom .... do need a bit of "salt" for steps and are replacing "cat litter" which has now been used by local stray ....... plus I need a new battery in one of my watches as it died last night . I'll will have to wait until later to replaced ....

what was this about? who grew up and learned to drive in this crap? who is out of what? who can't drive? who stocked up? who walked? who stalked? who slid? ...... I'm lost

depends where I measure most spots are around 6 inches, maybe slightly more. crusty on top with ice, about .1-.2 inches.

my old guy (dog) didn't care about the snow and ice, just couldn't get his feet underneath himself (which is a huge problem on normal dry ground), but he did do what he needed to outside and we'll try again tomorrow. my gal (dog) did good but didn't understand the "crunch-fall" motion she had to do ... but she did serveral in-out-in-out sessions today so was good to go! Two (out of 4) cats ventured out. 1 for only 5 minutes, twice, then called it quits (she isn't one who usually goes out anyway, but ) and the other was in-out-in-out-in-out as much as he could stand.

I wasn't surprised, but when I finally made it down our driveway today there was no trash pick up, no newspaper and no mail. They all could have come after I walked down to the street late this afternoon -- but if not, it really isn't a big deal, I'll check again tomorrow ....

we've got a hand cranked radio, but don't have the stamina for the whole house!

I hear ya ..... We've talked about a generator, but we need a big (expensive) one and just haven't done it. I hate when we don't have water. I can cook and stay warm, I just want to have water too.
