  1. I was just stared in the face by a bat who is currently hanging off the spice rack in a cabinet. I am not very interested in trying to catch, trap, or otherwise coax it outdoors. Anyone had this issue and know of who I can call locally?
  2. Personally, I would lend this type of reaction to the light as a 'wth moment' many are probably having due to a light they are accustomed to operating as a R/Y/G all of a sudden flashing yellow. In my experience, you usually get one of the following at any malfunctioning light: Everyone treats it as a 4-way stop Those facing the yellow lights will brake until someone gives them the finger and blows the horn. Someone will eventually blow through at 70mph and tbone a person facing the red who assumed those facing yellow were treating it as a 4way. At some point in time I have been guil
  3. There was no 'side-war.' It was the Klan's threat of lethal force that prompted Anon to pay attention. The Klan laughed, taunted, and didn't take it seriously. Anonymous promptly seized their Twitter account and nuked their website. Get your history up to speed on Anon and you will understand the claim of 'there and around.'
  4. They work wonders. It isn't a cure-all, however, it will provide some temporary relief. They are designed to provide relief while in use--so don't expect to be miraculously pain-free after using it.
  5. Not a chance in hell. However, I will be impatiently waiting for the news footage of the sheeple trampling each other to save 50 bucks on a cheezety television.
  6. Will they be having the crop duster demonstration team for this one? Show me Blue Angels or Thunderbirds--and I will consider it.
  7. Anyone who measures my grass with a ruler will find said ruler firmly lodged in their ass.
  8. You are 100% correct. I was referring to the DS3/DS1's being at the DSLAM where, as you stated, it is all aggregated (at least on the old ATM stuff). They are selling last mile speeds to the SLIC/DSLAM/VRAD--as you pointed out. ATT has the added luxury of blaming distance to the CO, attenuation, line degradation, etc..etc. They can cloud the waters for days without having to address if they are actually shaping or rate policing customers. I will add their latency sucks as well. I used get p out within ATT's network is never less than 30ms (in GA).
  9. It is a dedicated line, however, what they don't tell you until you complain, is that they are pushing ALL IP traffic (voice, tv, in addition to data) on the Uverse lines. Uverse is two DSL lines that are bonded (the bandwidth is shared between the two). These DSL's are terminated to an NID somewhere on the premises of the home/business. Bascially, the more televisions you have pumping HD, the slower your internet connection will be. The main difference between the two is the 'backend.' The little phone boxes you see scattered every mile or so contain a DSLAM. This is where the cop
  10. They are full of sheeze. If it requires a Uverse tech to visit the VRAD near your home, you can forget it happening tonight. If it is an internal network problem then it should be fixed within an hour or two--or much less depending on the skill of the engineers. The people fronting incoming calls are Tier 1 CSM's. The next time you call back ask to speak to a Tier III--this should at least get you someone with rudimentary networking/telecom skills. The last time I spoke to a Tier I--I was lied to. I knew I was being lied to. So, I drove to the VRAD and DSLAM that services my neigh
  11. I got home yesterday from a week long business stay in San Francisco. I am actually contemplating going back permanently and taking my family with me.
  12. 'Dark Web' is nothing more than a moniker as is 'cloud.' The 'cloud' is nothing more than a marketing term for the internet itself. 'Cloud' being a marketable way of describing the trend of pushing storage and applications to reside on a server somewhere in a datacenter as opposed to locally on the end user's computer. 'Dark Web' is a term used to describe methods used to maintain anonymity on the internet. Usually using open source tools such as TOR to obfuscate the originating IP address of the IP traffic. Of course, it is used by some for illicit reasons. However, it is also used by in
  13. "Dark Web" isn't going anywhere. Only the amateurs or those being lazy will get taken down.
  14. 1. Don't believe it was staged. 2. He is pushing up daisies. 3. Oswald was a patsy. 4. Yes. 5. Nah. I think the broader topic of eugenics may play into the discussion--wasn't CIA either way. 6. Heavily influenced, yes. All one has to do is read about the Council on Foreign Relations, Bilderberg (they denided even being real until just a few years ago--now they have a website), and the Trilateral Commission. Bohemian Grove is germane to the discussion as well. 7. Assisted? Ehhh, I don't know that I am convinced of that. However, there are some compelling argu
  15. Ten years ago, I had someone take a campaign sign from my yard, blast bird shot through it with a shotgun, and return it to my yard two days later. I posted about it here on pcom and I got the same response as the OP is getting in this thread. Those that were not necessarily poticially aligned with the candidate I supported at the time made jokes, laughed, told me I was too sensitive, etc...etc. There just isn't anything funny about it. It is theft--and in my case; it was more of an attempt at intimidation than anything. Just my 2 pennies.
  16. Again, couldn't resist. Stradial has the uncanny ability to unwittingly help me come up with these.
  17. Indeed. They are ridiculous. I can only imagine how pissed his grandmother is having not been able to snip coupons for the last few months--without her glasses.
  18. Bingo! Those executive orders were signed loooong ago. The President already has the power to do so--including forcing citizen labor and relocation camps.
  19. The jury is still out for me. From what I have been hearing and reading, this guy is a 'go-to' when cheeze hits the fan and is well known for performing when the odds are stacked. With anything, someone doesn't necessarily need to be a subject matter expert to execute well during a crisis. Management, especially during a crisis, is a skill in and of itself. I am not defending the decision, although, I don't know that I am ready to condemn it either.
  20. Can someone PLEASE contact Rick Perry and let him know that his grandmother would like her reading glasses back. Thank you.
  21. Why not? Should go well with his own head that is firmly lodged in his ass.
